Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

Yeah, who tells their employer that they are looking for a new job!? Spending hours of work time looking for a new job on the sly and preparing/attending for interviews without anyone knowing is one of the fun bits.

PollyPoo · 11/08/2011 15:14

BB slept through last night for the first night in about a month! Woop woop! Blardy teething is a pain in the arse.

Sorry I have not been around. I have mostly been too sleep deprived to function. A brief run down of life in zummerset....

Party plans in place,
Boo turned 4,
The rayburn set fire to itself in the middle of her party with 18 children going 'ooooooh' as if they were watching a firework display.
BB is 7 months old, has two teeth, can sit up, roll over and screech loud enough to keep the entire village awake. She says things like gaga, baba, dada (although i don't think this is actually related to TG), and no longer stays where you put her. She is not crawling yet but does not let that hold her back. She manages to wriggle and roll her way to wherever she wants to go. If I move her back to her playmat, she just goes off again doing her own thing.

I have finally got TG to agree to paying for weekly ponieee lessons for Boo. Her response when i informed her of this was rather underwhelming. Hmm I was expecting shrieks of delight but all I got was 'that will be nice' then she went back to watching cbeebies.

Er I think that is it. Oh. I am still PNDtastic. Sad I am getting stressed about going to college, not having enough money/time/energy for a 3 yr degree, not being thinner in time for my party, not getting any exercise, blah blah blah. I have kind of lost my way and momentum and not achieved any of the things I wanted to so far this summer. In fact I am depressed about the fact I am still depressed! I thought I'd be off the tablets by now so I've been beating myself up about that too. My acupuncturist gave me a verbal slapping this week but it seems to have worn off. Plz to slap me?

Sorry, that was all very mememe. Great to hear of the good scans in the deli (just snuck over for a quick catch up)

Alps how long until you start the new job? Cossie a very belated Happy Birthday! Happy Annivs to Rocket and Fanny.

Am very Envy of eshmeet yesterday, sounds like you had a great time.

Right, I'm off to get more coffee and do battle with the bastard Rayburn - it has gone from setting fire to itself to being unable to stay alight.

rocketleaf · 11/08/2011 15:41

that is where you meant you wanted slapping right? sorry to hear you are feeling stressed out my luvver. I am sure the college thing will be fine once your doing it but bound to be a bit daunting before hand.

Well I paid for my crowing about Sprouts self settling last night by being woken up by wriggling grunting and squealing (all in her sleep) at 1.30 and 2.30 after stupidly staying up til 12.30. I finally fed her at 3.30 after waking up from a horrendous dream in which she had been taken in to care and I was in a prison mental ward (no idea why) I ended up scratching my eyes out. She then woke at 6.30 and fed on and off till we had to go out. She has now finally gone down for a nap after fighting it all day. Either this is the start of a wonder week or she needs to do a big poo. Gripe water seams to have helped but it might be coincidence.

In other news we went to the children's centre for a session about weaning. Thought it might be a waste of time as I plan to BLW but actually they were really positive about it and very encouraging. Pleasantly surprised and some very cute babies to squee

rocketleaf · 11/08/2011 15:52

Right that's good then the ESH have spoken, I am giving up washing stuff unless it smells particularly oily. Most of her 3-6 month stuff is handed down from her cousin so will have been washed recently anyway it's just new stuff I am wary off due to factory finishing.

Alps your boss sounds like a dick. You can tell em i said so if you like?

wish I could come to an Oxford meet. Sounds like it'll be packed.

rocketleaf · 11/08/2011 15:53

seams seems tsk

Lighttaperstandback · 11/08/2011 16:52

. I defy anyone to feel depressed after watching a nearly nine month old baby attempting to eat spag bol. Funny as fuck. I was almost tempted to try waving mine around it seemed like so much fun. Grin

Not much to report on here. Went to HV today to ensure that the food I am shovelling into Squib is resulting in a general increasing trend in the size department, which it appears to be.

Sorry to hear about indoor fireworks display Pol. I went back to school after...ahem...20 years last year. It was a bit of a shock to the system but was soon actually really nice to be locating dusting off ze little grey cells, and I definitely got more out of it and was more efficient at learning than my younger self had been. I really enjoyed it. You'll soon settle in to it.

Lighttaperstandback · 11/08/2011 17:07

shops = chops.

Medee · 11/08/2011 18:52

I'm still washing new stuff and ironing quite a lot of it, mainly cos it is piss easy.

SilverSky · 11/08/2011 19:35

I am an outrageous liar. It's TWO TEEF!

Alp your boss us a knob jockey. Ask anyone. In fact ask your knobber of a boss. Who in their right mind tells their boss "oh I'm starting to look for a new job and my search will start this afternoon at around 3.18pm".

MB is a modelling superstar. Had few pics done today with his cousins and there are too many to choose from!!!!

polly on the bright side of returning to college is said college is not a million miles from me I think. If that can be considered a bright side Wink

I don't think it can be possible for any more snot to come out today. MB and I combined must be a world record.

One of my fave programmes has returned - yup it's Cake Boss!!!!

lighter book is received. I thank ye and shall return as promised.

ok not checked my inbox yet! Can't do on mobile so will hop on laptop as soon as can. Grin

FannyPriceless · 11/08/2011 21:05

pols I haf missed yoo!

And I have some words for you, my dear. Firstly, what's with all these expectations upon oneself? Please to not be putting time limits on the PND. I'm not.Sad

Secondly, I have seen you in a bikini. My exact thoughts were 'My god, I will never manage to look that hot.' You look like a model! You will look totally fab for your birthday. I'd definitely snog you.

(And if it's any consolation my equivalent birthday was six days after Bonnie was born. You can imagine the shape I was in.)

Yay for pony lessons!Smile

laurielou · 11/08/2011 21:06

Evening all,

Only a quickie as I have cystitus (amaze) & will be off to the loo in seconds. This typically coincided with BugBoy sleeping through from 11 - 5. It was me up at 3.30 Angry

Silvs, Okie Can I ask about your LO;s eczema? BugBoy apparently has it, just wondered what - if any - medication you had that worked wonders. I know there's no miracle cure, my brother has suffered with it all his life.

PollyCrystalTits · 11/08/2011 21:18
PollyCrystalTits · 11/08/2011 21:32

Fans! Sorry I am so crap - I've just realised I've not replied to your email. You are too kind my lovely, I defo not model-like. And I have managed to put ON weight since you saw me at the spa. All those triple choc cookies had to go somewhere I suppose. I know I shouldn't moan but none of my pre-preggo jeans fit but I'm reluctant to buy clothes in a bigger size as i am trying intending to get fit and get back into my old clothes. If I ever find the motivation that is.

okiecokie · 11/08/2011 21:32

Fuck it - just typed a very long post to Laurie and lost the c8nt (can you tell I am angry). Laurie I will retype once I drink more wine. Reading is accessible for me * via the bronx Clapham Junx so possibly do-able.

PollyCrystalTits · 11/08/2011 21:35

x-post Lozzer. Sorry to hear about the cystitis. Bloody agony that is. And the eczema. TG gets it on his hands, it is really awful when it flares up (usually coincides with a dairy pig-out). He uses diprobase on it but not sure if that would be any good on BugBoy. I'm sure Okes and Silv have more useful info for you.

rocketleaf · 11/08/2011 21:40

Sorry about the cystitis and exzema loz am no help with either.

Nice name change pol and nice arse

Think I'm off for an early night.

Backinthebox · 11/08/2011 22:51

Oooh, far too much stuff going on in ESHland for me to comment on everyone tonight, so sorry if I miss anyone.

Pol Cluck and I live about 8 miles out of Reading. We keep threatening to track Silv down, so you might as well join in too.

Baby clothes - you wash them before the baby wears them? I am clearly a cruel mother, I have just flicked them out of the packet and put them straight on the baby, and have managed not to harm 2 baybees this way. The biggest problem seems to be that the required shrinkage of the first wash means that babygrows are a bit rugrat-ish for the first wear.

I have had The Cast taken off today - hurray! Boo for the fact that they decided not to put the support boot on and make me shuffle about on crutches for another 3-4 weeks. By strange coincidence the girl who is looking after the horse, her mum is head of physio at the local hospital. She gave me a cat's bum look tonight when I declared I wanted to be both back on the horse and back at work at some point before the end of September. I decided to round a day of hospital thrills off by going to the dentist and getting a crown fitted. Both my tooth and my credit card are hurting more than my leg. Hmm

Alps your boss is deluded. Ignore him, you are leaving.

Freaky coincidence of the day - a man I have never met before has been a bit of a bother the last couple of days. Something I worked very hard on has been used for the purpose of raising cash without crediting me. In fact someone else has claimed the work is entirely his own and nothing to do with me (see FB for what it might be.) I was discussing the bothersome man with OH when suddenly bothersome man is on the BBC News! How bizarre.

lights I'm with you on the spag bol - I've got a photo on t'other place of TT eating her first spag bol. Wearing it behind her ear, she is.

SilverSky · 12/08/2011 08:33

lozboz the eczema started off in his forehead, entire torso, in all his creases and over his back. Now thanks to Aveeno cream mainly its now only in his neck, groin and on backs of legs. Occ flare up in arms. We needed steroids to help with the face as it was awful but as soon as we stopped using it after the 7 days it would come back. Then we used Aveeno and it calmed right down and is now hardly noticeable. We use the cream and the bath stuff. Use Weleda Baby Calendula shampoo.

We use Scratchsleeves at night and I have mitts with me to put on during day etc as he tends to claw his face and neck when he is tired/ waking up.

My gps have been rubbish. Telling me to use the steroids indefinitely. Sad I'm not happy about that and won't be going down that route.

Some people use Skin Salavtion. Like anything what works for one poss won't work for another.

I'm hoping he will grow out of it.

Think funding what works to be the hardest part as you have to give everything time.

HTH

Cosmosis · 12/08/2011 09:15

Ah silv all the best baybees get more than one toof at a time.

lozza dairy free diet often helps the eczema if you can bear it.

pols I agree with fans please to not be setting any timeframes on PND recovery, it will only make it worse. Be kind to yourself pliz.

CurlyCasper · 12/08/2011 09:28

Loving the new name crystaltits! Please listen to the wise words of the ESHs, let the drucks do their job and try to embrace what's ahead. I am very jealous that you have found a way to go after your dream job. And get a night away from the family every week!

Sorry about the cystitis loz, I can empathise on that one from muchos past experience.

AlpinePony · 12/08/2011 09:30

You are all right about my boss - he is 'owever french-belgian. I'm ignoring it tbh - as you all say, it's absolute nonsense - and if they don't want people applying for other jobs well they shouldn't have a massive great fucking tool on the intranet entitled "Job Searcher" now shoudl they!? Wink

polly You will be fantastic back at college - if anything I think it'll give your PND a bit of a slap. You're going to be a real person again. Wink It's going to be fantastic. All my friends who've gone back to college later in life have said it's a piece of piss because the 18 year olds are thick 'n' lazy 'n' just want to drink. Which rings true in my experience. Also, have to agree with fanny, you look shit hot my love - and never mind "for a mother of 2 who's turning 40'! Envy

lozzer So sorry about the cystitis. :( Only had it once, that'll teach me to shag beautiful men with the biggest willy I have ever seen. Blush It was massive!

BUMSEX FRIDAY! Give your foofs a rest and go for the bum! Everyone's a winner - no butterdish droppage, no tenderness, no stitches. BUM IT UP!

AlpinePony · 12/08/2011 09:32

curly Maybe you should apply for the job at fanny's place? This is why I'm going to work away from home too. Imagine! I will be able to read a book without interruption! If I stay in a hotel I can have the remote! A bath! Room service!

MadameBoo · 12/08/2011 09:53

I'd prefer Fanjo Friday I think - Cunnilingus all the way and no touching wood.

Lighttaperstandback · 12/08/2011 10:34

I'll second that vote for Fanjo Friday! Don't really want to be spending my weekend walking like John Wayne.

Is everyone jobhunting at the moment or wot? I seem to be spending an inordinate amount of naptimes on social network job sites. Something tells me it's going to take many many months to find the dream job - if it even exists, so I'd better get cracking.

Silv congrats on toof no 2 and hope the book helps! You can skim through the 1st few chapters pretty quickly as they labour the point a bit, but it was only when I read the stuff about the safari trip that the penny dropped - you'll see what I mean. We found it made a difference within the first couple of nights and I actually enjoy bedtimes now.

Squib wierdly woke up at 9pm for the first time in ages last night. Wouldn't let me put my finger in his mouth so am suspecting he's working on toof no. 5. Gave him some calpol and put him back in bed to self settle (mean mother.com) whilst mainly soothing him from outside the door, and he eventually went back to sleep half an hour later.

rocketleaf · 12/08/2011 11:56

pol did I mention my sister went back to college part time, then did a degree and had baby No.2 in the middle of it all? It took her 7 years to complete her degree (in fine art, she did chemistry straight from school for some bizarre reason) but is much happier for it. If we make it to your birthday then you could always collar her about it although hopefully you will be too busy looking fabulous, getting drunk and falling over :o

box only reason I washed the new born stuff was a/ I was unemployed so had time b/ having been in lots of factories I know what goes on c/didn't know if sprout would have sensitive skin and react to finishers. I am over it now she is older and isn't over sensitive but I think I would still be inclined to wash underwear type things for a little while yet due to point b.

FanjoFriday fan here too. Getting anything out the back is bad enough, I am certainly not inclined towards anything going in
