Liking maternity leave too much? Can't be arsed to go back to your old job? Why not get made redundant, set up a company, have another baybee or even fall off a horse? Anything to spend more time with our little darlings! And it's so naice here - pass the gin!

Thank you everyone!! I used to look forward to bedtime as he'd go down pretty regularly and easily. Not so much at the moment! I will PM you light as I don't want to continue holding him to sleep. Last night I sat by his cot and dosed off myself! Hmm

So people, I feel rougher than a badger's butt. Did my essentials such as parenting and animal care. Childcare has been done from the comfort of my sofa and bed.

Please can someone tell me how it was possible that my non napping baybee slept for two hours this afternoon? Because he was in bed with me and he went off to snoozeville without any bother. Literally laid back and closed his eyes and BAM asleep. I even slept myself. Of course tonight could go tits up due to the long nap. We have yet to see!

Fanny I love my babycityjogger. We've got the single and it is brilliant for travelling. I love showing people how it folds . But it is quite hard to steer and not as light as the bugaboo imho. Guess which double buggy I'm going for?!!!!! I know, I know mr moo is going to kill me when he finds out how much it is.

Backinthebox · 08/08/2011 17:38

I have never found a pram or buggy I actually liked. I have tolerated several. When you want to try and cut down on number of children in a buggy, I can recommend a Lascal buggy board though. In fact, I have been seen pushing a pram along with one child on the buggy board, one in a Babyhawk, and the buggy full of shopping. Grin

Blardy hell! I put Squib down in his cot tonight, wide awake, and he just rolled over and put his head down. Didn't cry a peep. Could hear him fidgeting around on the monitor getting himself comfy for a couple of mins, then, silence. This book is effing brilliant. The writer reckons every baby can be sleeping 12 hours through the night at 4 months. Wish I'd heard of it earlier. Wine o'clock it is then. Grin

Medee · 08/08/2011 20:16

sounds like a result, LightA. If EA doesn't come out of the sleep regression soon, might look into it!

rollerbaby · 08/08/2011 20:33

Woooo that sounds VERY good lighter fluid.

God watching the news... the world's gone mad. That's it, we're moving to the Isle of Skye.

SilverSky · 08/08/2011 21:04

I'm moving to Texas.

Backinthebox · 08/08/2011 21:16

I moved up a mountain in a country without an airport or rail links to the outside world once. It was fab, but I missed the horses and moved back. Plus it was a 6 hour commute to work, which made it a bit tricky.

I'm so glad I live in the arse end of nowhere. ShockAngry

Lighttaperstandback · 08/08/2011 21:18

I'm just hoping it doesn't kick off round our parts. We're a fair way from the high st if it does... We need a good dump of rain...that'll put 'em off I reckon.

Loooopy · 08/08/2011 22:09

yes, world has gone mad.

and re double buggy's, as we hoped to have children close together, we bought the baby jogger city select, tandem but both seats get a view and not cramped but not stupid and long or wide, one sits low, one sits high, but a fairly standard frame so it looks like a normal single right now, but has about 16 combos of forward/rear facing with a car seat, carry cot or buggy, or 2 of any of the above. unlike the icandy peach, the carry cot fits any position so you only need one (the icandy sell an upper carry cot and a lower carry cot) We are really pleased with it, and only one slight niggle that the brake cable can sometimes catch on a screw when you open the chassis but it's nothing really, highly recommend it!

rollerbaby · 08/08/2011 22:09

They are a mile away from us now. What about the local LK Bennett??

I shouldn't joke I know.

rocketleaf · 08/08/2011 22:48

Thinking of you lot down in the thick of it. Bloody scary stuff, please stay safe. :-(
(moo I'm a size 6)

It's like they've been given a green light to go raiding. Sad

Woke up and I'm still rough. Sad

CluckyKate · 09/08/2011 08:44

Shocking. Absolutely, bloody shocking.

Be safe you lovely London girlies. We have room if any of you need somewhere to escape to - just shout.

Backinthebox · 09/08/2011 08:54

Cluck has a good point. We have an annex here that can sleep a couple and baby, and could put up an airbed for another little one. We are only an hour down the M4.

Well when I was in the gym yesterday there were a couple of knobbers in there cheering on all the rioters on sky news. So no surprise to learn it has spread to here last night and someone got shot in the face overnight.

Oh and I am twenty-seventeen today.

AlpinePony · 09/08/2011 10:09

Way to make a stand against gum crime there cossie!

Happy Birthday to coss the lyin ho , happy birthday to coss the lyin ho , happy birthday dear cossiieeeeee we know you're aynshunt!

Lighttaperstandback · 09/08/2011 10:36

Happy birfday Cossie. I like yer maths...by that calculation next year I will be turning the same age as my eyesight...just perfect!

So sad what's going on. Don't really know what the solution to it is, and just hope to goodness I manage to do a better job of bringing squib up than it seems a lot of parents are able to manage with their kids, whatever the reasons are. It's so scary bringing up a kid in a city like London to see what influences kids can come under, and hope I can persuade Squib that it's not ok to act like these ones are...

FannyPriceless · 09/08/2011 10:58

Happy birthday cossie! I know you're desperately trying to catch up with me.Wink

It wouldn't happen in a village, would it? ConfusedSad

We have two spare sofa beds. And a tent in the garden.

Lighttaperstandback · 09/08/2011 11:03

Er...can I take a rain-check on that tent? Not so keen on the sloppy seconds....

AlpinePony · 09/08/2011 11:11

lightspaper The simple truth is, you and I (and Bear and squib - and all the other ESHes) are just not part of that sub-set of society. So to question whether squib will grow up thinking it's "ok" is a waste of energy. It's simply a case of NQOC.

curlycasper · 09/08/2011 11:23

Happy birthday cossie! Slaps and snogs winging their way north

FannyPriceless · 09/08/2011 11:42

lighter Waddya mean? Rejecting my generous offer of hospitality?

Muser · 09/08/2011 11:47

Alps is right. It's just a totally different part of society. It scares me how divided society has become, I don't know how you persuade these kids, who obviously think they can take anything they want and that there is no future for them, that they are part of society. They obviously just don't care. We could lock them all up, but they'll come out just the same.
