JessinWA and PicadillyCircus - you're babies are beautiful. So sweet. Isn't this age lovely?

Now, how do I get a photo up? I've been to Members Profiles and I'm having trouble uploading a photo. Help me.

mummyhill · 24/11/2005 13:31

ok here is an attempt at a link to a pic of me and the kids taken about 6 weeks ago. memberprofilesmummyhillandthelittlehills

mummyhill · 24/11/2005 13:32

F**K it doesn't work what have I done wrong?

mummyhill · 24/11/2005 13:34

Beatie you have to crop the image to within an inch of it's life so that it is as small as possible and make sure it's in a jpeg format then you click on the box and follow the instructions a little window opens to tell you when you have done it right. I just spent 1/2 an hour cropping my pick till it fit.

beatie · 24/11/2005 14:05

I've reduced it a few times already. I'll keep trying. Thanks.

beatie · 24/11/2005 14:19

Hmmmm - I've made it as tiny as possible and still it's not accepted. Any tips?

PiccadillyCircus · 24/11/2005 15:43

To do mine, I opened it in paint, then clicked on Image and then Stretch and Skew. I made the percentages about 50% I think (the first two boxes).

beatie · 24/11/2005 16:00

I resized it in Paint and it worked. Thanks PC. Here she is

pooka · 24/11/2005 16:20

Beatie - she's lovely.I will try and source a photo of my two - haven't really got any ace recent ones of Tom.

Mummyhill - just about to check my mail x

Night night all

beatie · 25/11/2005 12:45

Here's dd1 since recently I haven't been able to get a photo of the two of them together.

jaydeelady · 25/11/2005 14:24

wot lovely children you all have. If i could work out how to post piccies i will. They are all so smiley and happy, well done girls!!.
Still have dd2 off sick with flu, but the asthma (ds) is getting better. has anyone got snow? none here yet but its FREEZING. don't mind having a bit cos i don't have to battle to work in it now however dh has to so hes not keen. kids would love it though, don't know when the last time was we had a good snowfall.

jessyandabbysmummy · 25/11/2005 16:23

Happy Thanksgiving day, Jess! We had a fab time at Little Britain Live - hilarious. Is it popular in the US? The show has been put together very well. Partook of one too many "sherries" though so am suffering today.
PC, I too am deliberating a new hairstyle - like you I want something new but don't know what. DH is begging me not to get too much cut off, though I fancy a complete change. Hope your "new do" turns out ok.
Mummyhill - I had counselling for depression before dd1 was born. It was very relaxed and basically consisted of the counsellor asking me questions about my fears and trying to get me to talk while she listened. Didn't matter that she didn't have any children herself, just listening to myself halped me put everything into perspective and realise that I really didn't have anything to worry about. HTH and good luck with your sessions.
NO snow here yet, though we had a little flurry last night.
Hope everyone and their beautiful babes (now we've seen the piccies!) are ok. {{hugs}} to jaydeelady and pooka fighting illnesses.

Cabe · 26/11/2005 14:55

Hi all... Wow it's quiet on here! Hope you're all well and having a lovely weekend with the blokies around to help... perhaps you're doing christmas shopping.

Jess hope it was a fab first Thanksgiving with your little man. Oh and yes you guessed right!!!

Beatie, she's beautiful... do you see traits of your dd1 in Alice?

Have a great weekend everyone, get well all those suffering with viruses in their households xx

Cabe · 26/11/2005 14:57

blokies looks completly wrong You know what I mean... Dh's and Dp's.. the menfolk!!!

mummyhill · 26/11/2005 21:50

Have spent most of the day with in laws. Some of DH's cousins came to meet david for first time. He came away with nappise, wipes, talc, A new outfit £15 vouchers for mothercare and a lovely bag of handme downs.

Most people I know seem to be embarrased by handme downs any idea why? I will quite happily accept stuff of people I know well as they are usually in really good condition as they aren't in them long enough to wear them out. I t makes much more sense to me as it leaves you with money to buy other things for the kids.

I am celebrating tonight with a large Southern comfort with lemonade as I managed to fit into a size sixteen skirt from tesco's (pre pregnancy size was 20 - 22). Good to know that correct thyroxine levels, sensible diet and lots of walking (to and from nursery/toddler group/shops) Is having such a wonderful effect.

pooka · 26/11/2005 22:04

Glad you're well Mummyhill.I'm with you on the handmedowns - have hardly bought a thing for Tom as excellent friend has son 3 months older. Also, dd wore mostly neutrals so he's worn loads of her stuff. Am really annoyed though as the bag with all her old grobags has gone missing in the move, so had to buy 2 new ones yesterday. They are lovely though
Allwell here. DD has been so funny and charming in the last week and I am completely flabbergasted that can actually put Tom down AWAKE and he falls asleep. Unimaginable with dd. Started putting him in crib upstairs after his bath. And he's not swaddled any more. And hasn't complained at all
Cannot believe that 2 babies can be so different. Interesting too that Tom seems about 3 weeks ahead of dd in physical things like batting toys and holding his head up when having tummy time, but 3 weeks behind dd when it comes to laughing and not quite as smiley.

mummyhill · 26/11/2005 22:14

Hi Pooka - I have noticed that physically DS is matching if not out stripping DD however he is slower to chuckle and vocalise than she was is it a gender thing????

Cabe · 27/11/2005 00:32

Oooh dear... I think I might have quite a girlie boy then, my little one gurgles back to me happily but is totally stranded on his tum tum

Lovely to hear you sound so cheerful Mummyhill, I'm with you too on the hand-me downs, I have some lovely things from friends and when they've been particular faves it means a lot too.

You know the grobags? do baby's arms get a little chilly in them, I don't have double glazing here and if the wind's in the north my room gets very cold and i'd worry that Conrad would wake with the chill.

Pooka - glad everything's going well

pooka · 27/11/2005 15:15

Cabe- our bedroom is like a freezer. No double glazing and rattly old windows AND no heating. When I feed Tom in the night he has a tendency to warm his hands up under my boobs . But it doesn't seem to bother him. He's in a long-sleeved vest with sleepsuit and then 2.5 tog grobag. I find that unless he's swaddled he tends to sleep with his hands above his head anyway - so not much hope of keeping his hands warm either way.
Maybe the developmental thing is a boy/girl thing. Only noticeable because have been rifling through dd's diary to see when she did what.

Cabe · 27/11/2005 23:58

Thanks Pooka, I'll have a look at the grobag idea, at the moment he's liking the squidged feeling of being very well tucked in, he used to like being swaddled in a muslin when he was teeny tiny. I'm just concerned he might wriggle free of his bedclothes when he gets toe-grabby and able to turn over, so I think the grobag will help prevent this

Bbbbrrrrrh sounds chilly at yours, very impressed you don't do the central heating thing though, I grew up in a draughty creaky old house with no heating, actually I went back to see the house today (I'm feeling homesick) We used to have one really warm room in the house - the kitchen - and it really was the hub of all activity, I'd love to have that hive of activity feeling in my home now. At christmas we always had a fire in the drawing room and everything kind of migrated there for the holiday period - oh wow, I really am feeling homesick

Sorry, off on a tangent there... it's all these late night hours with no-one to talk to!

Nighty night all xx

pooka · 28/11/2005 08:24

It's weird - I grew up here and have vague recollections of getting dressed in front of fan heaters or the knackered radiators downstairs, and wearing loads of layers. Now we've bought my mum's house, it'sall come flooding back. Have plans to install heating to the individual rooms upstairs as we go - dd has heating now as does Tom's future room. I'd actually rather not have radiators on in our room - have never been one for a warm bedroom.
Downstairs has heating, not that you'd know it.The only room that seems warm is the sitting room, which also has an open fire, so the back room gets very little use at the moment.
Really must buy some new jumpers and fleeces.
Hope you had a good weekend Cabe. I'm still recovering from this wretched cold, but otherwise, managed to get loads done. Seem unable to be dynamic round the house when dh is at work - how do you manage, on top of studying? Take my hat off to you!
