Have been lurking while things download. Not much to say except DD doesn't really eat veggies either. Sometimes she'll chew on them for a bit, but it don't go down in a few chomps then out it comes Hmm Am hoping once winter veggies arrive (squashes) she'll be better.

She also has a few things she knows she's not supposed to do i.e. trying to chew my finger because she has the biggest smile when she does it and even says no herself as she's trying to do it.

She's not been eating cereal, but is happy with the pastries the motels provide for breakfast, wonder if it's heat related. I am not pushing the veganism too much on her while we travel, although I think it's only breakfast where she has stuff unless DH has chicken nuggets which she steals. She does also now eat potatoes and fat, but gone other favourites (she's probably had a few too many fries but fat for them is good I figure at this age)

Well that was more than I thought. Have fun

PA waves - been reading your blog on FB and Envy your trip

DS has a fascination for my elbows Hmm he likes to 'play' with one while I change his nappy!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/07/2011 20:45

SB Grin DD1 sucks my elbow skin at red lights (I have extra loose skin there) Hmm did I mention she is 6? while DD2 tries to fondle my breasts reHmm kids! who would have them?

Very Confused DH client is making him stay on site 24/7, against health and safety, and making him miss his birthday with his family (DH sounds not good on phone but that is another issue). Client is also a friend of mine's husband, shall I skype her telling her DH is being a dick head?
DH is being bullied by his company and his client, but also DH is very selfish, while away if he calls it is always about his problems, and then "I have to go pee, have a shower... have a meeting" FFS can't he time his calls so I can actually talk to him? The shower bit really pissed me off, what kind of excuse is that? I am not a talker (he is) so what kind of shower can't wait more than 5 min so I can say something. GGGGRRR, I am between feeling sorry for him and waiting to tell him to grow up, very confusing. Again, it is just a birthday (versus loosing his job), he left me on my own at least twice for my birthday before. Am I moping?
NO I am ranting Blush but that is different.

FFS

sorry Blush

SocietyClowns · 08/07/2011 20:52

mous I'll join you for a glass and a chat Smile. Also home alone this weekend...

StoneBaby · 08/07/2011 21:09

I will always share any offered alcohol! Grin

Seriously mous I think you need a real good talk with your DH. I'm by myself tonight and most part of tomorrow as my DH is working.

DS also sucks my elbow

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/07/2011 21:10

soc did you change your name or I have misread it from the beginning?

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/07/2011 21:22

SB last time I met my friends (i.e client) he said "6 weeks non stop" I don't think he was joking, can I just mention it would be nice if DH would be paid accordingly as we have lost all our savings? or is that petty?

I should really be able to drive 4.5 h there and back, shouldn't I (with a renting car and borrowed car seat) ? I am too scared. I have my licence BTW. My period just started tonight too. Irrelevant would you say? Last month I was invited to a diner and bled on their white chairs through the pads BlushBlushBlushBlushBlushBlush

That is why I am up trying to stay as late as possible.

StoneBaby · 08/07/2011 21:41

I can drink too! Never lived in Belfast but I'm married to an Irish pub landlord so Je releve le defi (can't remember how to say it in English)

You poor thing. No wonder why you're fed up and upset.

SocietyClowns · 08/07/2011 21:43

mous it's not the drink... my nickname doesn't mean much, just an expression I read in book recently and it looked good Grin. Sad at your dh work load and Blush at your dinner experience! After two children I now need super huge tampons plus pad and prefer not to go out! [sorry TMI]
Have another Wine Smile

StoneBaby · 08/07/2011 21:47

Only one child but periods are also very heavy (comparing to what they were pre pregnancy)

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 08/07/2011 21:51

Yeah soc but I thought you were a whole society by yourself now your are clowns who (mis)behave in society. Hmm even more Confused. I will keep calling you soc, though, reminds me of my best friend Smile.

SocietyClowns · 08/07/2011 21:57

Tehehehe... I like that interpretation Grin

SocietyClowns · 08/07/2011 21:59

Oh, and sorry for not typing out your name properly. I did five years of French at school and was always rubbish at it... Blush

Stangirl · 09/07/2011 13:46

Sorry I've been off for months but the later stages of this pregnancy have really pushed me to my limit and I've been posting on the ante-natal thread and AIBU/Chat etc mostly.

Anyway - I'm having my c-section Monday so my normal drunken self will be resumed.

Hope you are all well - I'll have a read through now.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 09/07/2011 13:50

Mous I'm not surprised you're fed up. Have another hug from me....

What is it with all the elbow-sucking?!!

DD was restless last night - when we went in to resettle her for the third time in 20 mins we realised she must be feeling cold, so put her back in a 2.5tog sleeping bag. Problem solved, she slept for the rest of the night (but woke at 06.10....we were hoping the disrupted night might give us half a chance of a lie-in but no such luck....)
DH is short-fused today - he's not used to the lack of sleep (it's also after his first week of having to get up before 07.00 too, so his system's still in shock I think)

I bought DD some reasonably watertight shoes today - I had to get boys' ones as the ones for girls (in DD's size) all had "pretty" holes in - not very useful in the wet. I'm now after a puddlesuit on ebay so we can continue getting out and about without getting too soaked. It turns out DD has size 3.5 feet (UK) which is actually slightly larger than I thought. Good job, because there would be no suitable shoes for her if her feet were any smaller.

Latest technique for a relatively co-operative nappy-change? Singing Old Macdonald and "Karma Chameleon". What are the rest of you doing to try and keep your LOs in a helpful mood during changes?

Ooh, Stangirl, X-posted!

Ace to hear from you - I was thinking about you only yesterday and wondering if you had gone pop yet. Good luck!!! Make sure you stick some pix up on the FB page for the rest of us to flutter at once he's out.... Smile

Bearcrumble · 09/07/2011 14:26

I have my period too and it is incredibly heavy (no white chairs though, thank God).

Good luck for Monday, SG.

IC I give him things to hold mostly. Things like retractable umbrellas or electric thermometers that have lots of bits and buttons on, they tend to keep him still for as long as it takes. That or rope in DH to just hold him down.

InmaculadaConcepcion · 09/07/2011 15:16

Has anyone tried the "leg-over" trick? I've resorted to it once or twice when DD has been in a particularly recalcitrant mood, but it hasn't been needed lately....
(sit beside the toddler and use one leg to hold them in position, leaving both hands free to change the nappy....)

StoneBaby · 09/07/2011 18:43

Today, we had our 1st French mums meeting. It went fine, we were only 2 but the kids (3) got on well. It was nice to see DS interacting with others children.

IC I never used the leg over technique. I normally put my arm over him which hold his legs up. (doesn't work every time)

Stan good luck for Monday. Can't wait to see your LO!!!

Why the witch hat [hhmm] it's not Halloween yet?

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 09/07/2011 19:11

SB it is due harry potter mania!

LeMousquetaireAnonyme · 09/07/2011 19:11

stangirl Thinking about you.

StoneBaby · 09/07/2011 19:24

Oh, I see! Didn't think of this! Blush

BigBadBear · 09/07/2011 20:53

Good luck stan!

SocietyClowns · 09/07/2011 21:18

Stangirl Best of luck! So exciting! Smile

We seem to be in the party season at the moment and I hope dd2 won't be too disappointed that there is no party with cake and bouncy castle tomorrow Grin. She is getting cheekier by the day now. Earlier she started going up the stairs while I was in the kitchen and I heard her stop on the fifth step, waiting for me to come and catch her and tell her off Wink. When I didn't she came back down, found me in the kitchen and then kept pointing at the stairs! Grin Trying to tell me, look, I climbed the stairs on my own even though I am not allowed, and you didn't come to tell me off!!! Grin

SocietyClowns · 09/07/2011 21:20

IC didn't read new posts in sequence and wondered what the 'leg over trick' might be.... Hmm Blush
