Yes marzi I'm considering entering myself into the record books for that one!

Just had reflexology which was lovely.
Same therapist said last time baby def ready to come out & she was right Tilly born next morning.

This time she predicts a week to go so we shall see if she's mystic meg!

thedogwalker · 19/11/2011 19:53

Hi all
Glad things have improved for you GYA and that LO is happy.

Childcare is extortionate (sp???), T goes 1 day a week at the moment, but in the new year he will be going 5 days a week, which works out to be just under £900 per month. When DC#2 comes along in June, I'm going to take 9 months maternity again, but that means when I go back to work in the following February, T will still be under 3 so won't yet qualify for any of the free hours. So will defo be getting another au pair then, as I couldn't afford £1800 per month. I will have to review my work before going back me thinks as my contract is due to run out in the May 2013, so might not be worth going back. I want to qualify to be a childminder anyway, so that is what I'm going to use my re-training time for before I leave my current employment.

Hope everyone is well, take care xxx

thedogwalker · 19/11/2011 20:03

Oh and if there are any X factor viewers out there, I'm going to be controversial, Janet to GO, GO, GO, she is so boring and her voice really grates on me Smile

MaidenDevon · 19/11/2011 22:31

Never mind GYA, the baby will arrive when it's ready, your girls must be getting very excited now.

Oooh bliss DH is out on the lash having a couple of quiet drinks with a mate. My DSis has just left after sharing a takeaway and watching X Factor, and now I'm sat on sofa with a brew and my lovely old dog keeping my feet warm - DH doesn't let him on sofa so we're being naughty Grin. Going to have an early night as F had a bit of a bad night last night with us passing this cough and cold between us - a 5am start this morning, back to bed at 7am, slept until 9.30am, then a 20 minute nap at 2.30pm before bed at 8pm - it's been a looooong day.

Nighty night all xx

soontobefatnat · 20/11/2011 09:41

Glad all is well Girls, although it's obviously a bit frustrating to think it's all systems go and then nothing happens. Let's see if LO makes an appearance this week.

Devon you made me laugh re predictive texting - Semtex??! Was your phone on the psycho setting?! I'm always cross with the iPhone for replacing its with it's - ALWAYS! Grrr. I like my grammar to be precise! :)

Dog I agree with you entirely re Janet. Totally zzzzzzz - off!!

Marzi dunno if Betty's is nationally famous or just Yorkshire famous. I went to uni in York (lived off Bishopthorpe Rd) so I ended up there for special occasions. Never had a fry up there though - mmm. Could do with one of those this morning.

Things are a bit grim here. Our upstairs neighbours are SO noisy. We haves moved into a Victorian conversion and there seems to be no sound insulation at all. It's basically like they're in our flat. They've had at least 8-10 people over (including kids) both nights we've been here and the noise is ridiculous. No music or anything but constant movement, shouting and (worst thing) HOOVERING at 1am right above Eli's room!!!! It woke him up (he's such a light sleeper anyway) and he stayed awake until 3am, when they finally stopped stomping around. This is the first place we've ever owned and we did feel so excited and now we just feel like...ugh, what the fuck have we done? We're not sure we have any recourse to complain to the local authority (they're council tenants and the council are the freeholder) as it turns out council's are only responsible for sound insulation in properties built after 1990. Hmm Anyhow, E's exhausted, we're exhausted and we're just hoping for a quieter night tonight.

On a cheerier (ish) topic - anyone watch the new series of The Killing last night? Good start, I think!

girlsyearapart · 20/11/2011 16:12

I missed the beginning of the series so I watched the American series and now I dont know whether to watch the second series..
Apparently they are very different..

MaidenDevon · 20/11/2011 16:25

Oh no Nat that doesn't sound like a good start. For what it's with, they might just be unaware of how noisy movements in their property sounds to those living directly below. My DSis lived in a downstairs flat of a converted Victoian semi, and honestly every time her upstairs neighbour walked across his lounge or closed a door it sounded like he was in her flat. He was a really sweet old man and she often had a cuppa with him so she knew he wasn't stomping across the room in hobnailed boots and slamming the doors, it was just normal moving around.

DH works for a housing trust. I will ask him if there is anything you can do since you are owner occupier and they are tenants. I will have to wait until he wakes up - currently he is snoring like a warthog snoozing on the sofa, his 'quiet drink out' last night resulted in him coming home at 7am this morning Angry. I couldn't sleep properly until he was safely home so i've been grumpy today. He got 2 hrs sleep then I sent F in to wake him up Grin revenge is sweet...

marzipananimal · 20/11/2011 21:40

oh nat that doesn't sound good. Do you know how expensive sound proofing would be? I guess Eli will learn to sleep through more noise in time. I lived on a busy road in a house with rubbish windows and it felt (sounded) like sleeping in a tent on a busy roundabout! I got used to it though and slept fine after a bit.

I went to York uni too! (and stayed here) What years were you there? I was 2004-2007.

I was thinking about buying some nice new bras the other day, except I don't want to yet as I think my size will carry on changing (still bf). Then I worked out that if I have 2 more children, spaced 3 years apart, and bf them all til they're 2ish (all fairly plausible), then I won't be able to justify buying any nice non-nursing bras until I'm 32!!! (I'm 25 now) That's a bit depressing

girlsyearapart · 20/11/2011 21:48

No marzi what is depressing is that I AM 32!!!

thedogwalker · 21/11/2011 08:33

Hey, hey, hey cut it out with the ages, I'm 39 and tbh feel like 79 this morning. Really tired with this pregnancy, can't wait for the Christmas stand down period for some quality time at home.
Nat poor you and Eli, you will all learn to ignore the noise with time, but I do not think you should have to put with hoovering at 1 am, that is just downright rude to your neighbours. I would see if that was just a one off, but if that happened again I would have to say something. Hope you can catch up with your sleep.
Hope everyone is well and just think 34 days til Christmas eve Grin

CherryPie3 · 21/11/2011 11:34

Hello hello hello Smile

Happy Monday!

Nat - that sounds awful! Poor you and Eli, like others have said tho you might get used to it and not notice it too much - I used to live beside a freight-line railway and first week I was ready to move out again but it turned out fine within 2 weeks. Although vacuuming at 1am Hmm That's a bit much!

Dogwalker - sorry you're so tired Sad. First trimester can be really horrid at times, has the sickness held off?

BRAS fed up of non-structured nursing bras now! I miss my underwires :( Really looking forward to some nice bra shopping when I stop feeding, although that could easily be next August-September time yet!!

It's so foggy today, the sky is completely white, if it were colder I'd say it was a snowy sky. I miss snow (I also hate snow). I want it to snow on the evening I put my Christmas tree up GrinGrin

Have a nice day ladies x

marzipananimal · 21/11/2011 19:16

sorry gya, you are having your 4th child though!

I hope you start feeling less tired soon dogwalker, it's the thing I dread most about being pg again - that first trimester deathly tiredness

CherryPie3 · 21/11/2011 19:23

Well, another uneventful day draws to to a close here. Today has been spent trying to sort the clean laundry into organised little piles but little C had other ideas of pulling them all off the sofa and laying down on them. Out of 5 humongous clean clothes pikes I got through 1.5. Not a productive day all in all . More to life than laundry however, who cares if we're scrabbling through t-shirts and knickers. At least they're clean and the floors are somewhat clear aside from a few stray wooden blocks, a musical train and a talking singing lion.

"Cleaning the house whilst the children are growing is like shovelling snow when it's still snowing"

In other news, I allowed Corey to walk the whole way to the shop, them to the bus stop to meet the school bus and then all the way home - he was thrilled and visibly very proud of himself. First thing he did when got home is lay down a a furry throw for 10 minutes Grin. Long walk for little legs Smile.

How's everyone doing? How bump GYA?

Hope the neighbours pipe down for you Nat.

Dogwalker, hope your tiredness evaporates soon!

Much love to everyone x

Good morning,

What's everyone got planned for today? Still thinking what to do here, probably ironing. Maybe Hmm

Been chatting to a friend this morning who is almost 37 weeks pregnant and honestly I think my ovaries are aching!! So broody but dh adamant - with good reason too but tell that to my innards!!! Grin

I'm sure just one more would be ok and, you know, just slot in. No? Ok then...

Much love to all on this very Wintry foggy day x

Mornign cherry, we're having a quiet day today. J was sick at 5am :( and after all the cleaning up and changing he was wide awake and up for the day He seems fine though so I don't know what's caused it or if it's connected to him being sick on Saturday as he's been fine in between.

girlsyearapart · 22/11/2011 11:35

Morning all.
I'm at a playgroup with my 3 & a friends 4 Yo then drop the older 3 at nursery make a lasagne then go to a friends for dinner and bath as Dh is resealing the bath then going out for dinner with a friend.

Went to ikea last night ultimate nesting behaviour but still no baby!

girlsyearapart · 22/11/2011 11:37

That made it sound like I'm having dinner twice- first one is kids dinner!

MakeTeaNotWar · 22/11/2011 17:29

Hello lovely ladies. No sign of movement yet GYA? Tuesday is my day off so caught up with NCT friends for lunch then took S to Baby Jam.

Bit gutted as AF arrived today & we are now TTC. Though I know I must be patient, this is first period since coming off the pill last month. It was only an 18 day cycle strangely so god knows what's going on.

girlsyearapart · 22/11/2011 20:38

If stress could bring the labour on then it's def going to happen..

At the playgroup we were at earlier Tilly fell off a baby chair but was holding a toy which must ve gone into her mouth as she fell.

Blood pouring out of her mouth spent whole rest of day at hospital she had four top front teeth- one is lost completely & the other three have impacted into her gums.

Two x rays that my sister had to take her into as I'm not allowed all ultra stressful & a day I do not want to repeat

bellygazing · 22/11/2011 21:24

Oh gya what an awful day! Poor Tilly - and poor you. [passes around some gingerbread men]

I've just been at work, so not much to report, other than that E DID NOT SLEEP AT ALL at nursery. This is not usual. Bizarrely, she seemed in a very good mood at home, not particularly tired, but conked out pretty quickly at bedtime. We've also just been told that E's key worker has resigned for personal reasons, which is a shame because she had clearly bonded well with her. Fortunately, her new key worker is her secondary person (if that makes sense) who we know just as well as her original key worker and is lovely and also gets on well with Elodie.

Am knackered, think I might take the Kindle to bed...

thedogwalker · 23/11/2011 13:35

poor you GYA, what a stressful day for you and painful one for Tilly, hope you are all feeling much better today.
Couldn't post yesterday as for the first time i had full on morning sickness all bloomin day, from the moment I woke up until I went to bed at 8pm. I couldn't eat or drink, felt like I had cement churning in my stomach. Not pleasant at all. Didin't have any of that with Thomas's pregnancy and I've only had small bouts of morning sickness this time, but yesterday was horrible, hope I don't ever have a repeat. Still not fully well today, still got little churns going on but nothing like yesterday.
Hope everyone is feeling much better than me xx Take care all xx

Woodlands · 24/11/2011 14:09

omg how awful for Tilly and for you, GYA - hope she recovers quickly. What a horrid thing to happen. What will they do - can they bring the impacted teeth out a bit more, or will they have to come out altogether? Poor little thing.

Sorry I haven't been on for ages! J is still not walking (at 16 months) - he can take a few steps but still prefers crawling! He is suffering somewhat with his teeth but is generally a sunny little boy.

I went to uni in York too! Seems to be a cluster of us on here!

CherryPie3 · 24/11/2011 18:05

Oh GYA that's awful, poor Tilly and poor you!! Hope the docs can sort something reasonable out for T and her poor little teeth.

MakeTea - Oh how I remember those impatient waits Grin. I hope it happens quickly for you!

Dogwalker - xfactor viewer here...I was hoping Janet was gone too. She's just soooo boring!! Cannot believe Craig went! Shock
Sorry to hear your feeling under the weather, hoping it clears off for you!

Belly - Good that E isn't being introduced to a complete stranger as her new key worker.

Woodlands - Corey preferred crawling at 16m too although one day he got seriously fed up and clambered to a standing position and away he went... I'm sure he won't be long now :)

DS1 had football training after school today and whilst he was playing I whisked DD and DS2 away to the shops and stocked up on new make-up. This particular shop has Calvin Klein foundation powder for just £3 and Rimmel/Astor/Maybelline lipsticks and eyeshadows for just £1-£2. Bargain. Hoping to start resembling a woman again soon as opposed to just Mummy.

One of my friends from the dc's school has just found out her ds (16m) may have to have his hip medically broken and repositioned as his whole left leg is twisted inwards, poor little thing! Apparently he'll have to walk with a frame for a good long while too :(. I didn't know what to say, I really feel for her.

Pretty depressing day all round here really, my nextdoor neighbour died almost 3 weeks ago and it was her funeral today :(:(. Really hoping for a happier day tomorrow, today seems to have been filled with bad news.

Much love to all xxx

Hey everyone, hope all is well with all!

Nothing new to report really apart from Corey insatiable appetite Shock - do babies of this get another growth spurt? Last night he ate a full portion of pasta bake and then started feasting on ds1's!! Hungry little munchkin Smile

Apart from that. Zip!

Only 30 sleeps....
