Hello LCRLCR here - have name changed as my other one was soooooo boring (plus I've since married so the 'R' bit isn't even true anymore!). Not very Halloweeny though is it?

S came home from nursery on Thursday doing an Obama style fist bump and saying "spect" (respect). So cute!

So how many of our old group are prego again - is it 3? I am chomping at the bit to TTC again - 5 weeks work of pill left to take!

MakeTeaNotWar · 24/10/2011 10:45

PS good luck with the flat nat !!

AfraidInDevon · 24/10/2011 22:00

cazandbelle never have I been sooooooo pleased to hear about a baby being born Grin What a birth story, be gentle with yourself for a while!

Good luck with the flat Nat ooh, I'm a poet and I didn't know it, boom, boom.

News from our house is that I have mumps, sporting a very fetching hamster look at the moment. F had her MMR at the end of August and so far she doesn't show any signs of coming down with it - she should have 90% immunity... We have been housebound since Friday and climbing the walls. She is going to nursery tomorrow so I can have a day of TV and vegging out. DH will be doing the nursery runs so that'll be a novelty for her, daddy dropping her off and picking her up, I will miss it! It's lovely seeing her at the end of each day, I always sneak in and watch her play for a few minutes without her noticing me.

I'm really loving her developing into a toddler now, she's so much happier than when she was a baby, good news all round!

Best of luck to all those TTC or waiting in the wings for their time to start TTC, exciting times.

Have decided to dress F as a little devil for her Halloween party - it was obvious in the end! She has already got red leggings and a red long sleeved top, so I bought a pair of thick red tights and have got some red netting to sew around the top in a tutu style, some cardboard covered in red wrapping paper for wings, alice band with a couple of horns on top and a red tail et voila, one little devil...[hsmile]

Whassup ladies!

Swinging by to say woohoo for Caz & little Xander! So, so delighted for you, my old due date buddy...:) :)

And a big group hug for the rest of you lovelies. Bit out the loop of mn these days but I do check out this thread every 6 weeks or so. Congrats to all those pregnant again..would love to be amongst you but Mr Weehector hasn't signed my permission slip yet. Little Lord Weehector continues to be a joy...a really happy little spud who runs everywhere, is great with his hands & loves his books & food. Oh and my boobs too. Not so much extended breastfeeding these days, more extreme breastfeeding where he does cliffhanger leg curls over my shoulder & hangs upside down.

Hope you're all happy & well.

MakeTeaNotWar · 03/11/2011 10:22

Hola WeeH, long time no chat! How are the mumps afraid, hope you're feeling better now? Eeek I've missed out on all those childhood illnesses, never had chickenpox etc so not looking forward to the delightful bugs S will no doubt bring home from nursery.

So yesterday...last pill popped so errr this is it, I guess we are officially TTC! Eek! Cannot conceive before the end of this month - though I know that's pretty unlikely - as I need to stay at work until next July in order to qualify for company's enhanced maternity package. So excited and impatient!

Has anyone seen any nice colourful long sleeved bodysuits anywhere that are not pink? S has a plethora of pinafores and dungarees and I'd like some nice brights (I'm thinking primary colours, stripes, spots etc) to go with

soontobefatnat · 06/11/2011 19:22

Hellooo Hector!! So nice to hear from you. Eli totally does the leg wrestling move now when I'm feeding him! Heh. When he's not pulling my hair, sticking his finger up my nose and making weird growling noises... basically, my son is a weirdo when he feeds!

Exciting stuff Tea - good luck TTC! You never know, eh? And re the coloured bodysuits - I've bought some really nice ones from H&M. Lovely solid colours, stripes - good quality and really cheap.

We still haven't moved and as of midnight tonight, we will be overstaying our tenancy. I'm feeling so stressed about it but we really have nowhere to go (my folks live in NYC, Sam's dad is about to have a hip op, so the in-laws' place is out) and it's not like two working people with a kid can camp out on friends' sofas... We're keeping our fingers crossed we get a completion date this week and, in the meantime, trying desperately to persuade our arsehole landlord to let us pay him rent/not take court proceedings against us. :(

Onto happier things - did anyone do anything fun for bonfire night? We had some sparklers in the garden, which Eli was entranced by, but didn't make it out to any fireworks. When do you reckon kids will be well up for it? Three? Four? Or am I being an overprotective wuss?

bellygazing · 09/11/2011 09:41

Hi all, sorry I've not been around, life been getting in the way! But I have been checking in to read fairly regularly. Great to hear from a few of you who have been infrequent posters of late, hope everyone is well, the preggers ladies are blooming (gya must be getting close now I guess) and those ttc have their legs up and laughing. Loved the extreme breastfeeding reference - Elodie is the same, she only gets it once or twice a day now but if I'm not working or in my pyjamas she will try and liberate my boobs and sneakily latch on. Sometimes when I'm on the loo, which I try not to encourage.

Still no first steps here - despite having been cruising for ages, she just shows no interest. She can stand on her own for quite a long time, but that's about it.
Nat, housemoving is supposed to be unbelievably stressful - can't imagine doing that with a toddler in tow...

We've had a couple of bouts of sickness and diarrhoea (one for E, one for me) and I've been getting into a frenzy of baking post the Great British Bake Off [hands out chocolate chiffon cake for everyone] but not much else to report.

Love to all!

CherryPie3 · 13/11/2011 16:35

Helloooo everyone :)

Sorry it's been a while, well, er months really! Blush

Glad you all seem to he doing well - still trying to get my head around all the name changes.

Hope I'm ok to come back to this thread after such a long absence.

Corey is finally walking! He's 16 and half months old now and he's been walking for about 4 weeks, he's a little terror Grin

Still bf'ing although the last few weeks have been pretty horrendous and painful. It's like nursing a newborn again with split cracked nips and gritting my teeth when he latches on Sad It's so painful it brings tears and shakes! I thought it was getting better as he cut 2 new back teeth but alas no. Ah well, I'm sure it will right itself. I'm blessed to still be bf'ing at this stage - it's beyond what I thought I could manage.

Nat - I do hope your landlord starts being reasonable with you, such a predicament. Fingers crossed for a completion date for you!

Belly - Corey has also gotten into the impatient habit of undressing me whenever he fancies, he doesn't care where we are. It was most funny at the HV appointment a gee weeks ago Hmm

MakeTea - Wow! How utterly exciting for you!! WRT bright bodysuits, I second Nats suggestion of H&M! They have some great bright long sleeved bodysuits in loadsa colours not just primary. I've got a few for C.

Much love to everyone Smile

xx

Hi everyone. Yes belly I'm getting close now only 4 weeks to go..
Have packed the hospital bag & started on the raspberry tea tablets.
I'm having reflexology next weekend & want this baby out asap I'm just not one of those happy pregnant people..

Probably should be trying to enjoy it a bit more since it's most def the last time but this pregnancy has brought a varicose vein with it so I'm not impressed!

T is walking all the time now and climbing up everything. She fell off the sofa today which was horrid as I was right next to her but I couldn't twist my fat self round in time to catch her. Anyway in spite of an egg on her forehead and plenty of tears she seems fine now.

I will try to keep you posted with any baby news but in the meantime take care everyone x

CherryPie3 · 14/11/2011 13:01

Wow GYA, very close now Smile

Will be watching for updates, hopefully you have an excited impatient baby tucked up in there and makes an appearance soon!! Smile

CherryPie3 · 15/11/2011 10:47

Corey being such a little terror today! He's really perfected his tantrum of lying on his back and kicking his heels Sad. I just wish I knew why? Confused

Hope T's head is better GYA.

Nat - any news on the completion date?

Anyone got any news? x

OP posts:
bellygazing · 15/11/2011 12:38

hi cherry! I do have some news - E took her first steps last week! Her maximum so far is 7, bizarrely she seems to prefer doing it while holding something big and bulky. Its been an eventful weekend, with a minor scalding incident (!) on saturday - no marks left, bit of tea on Es arm - then a split lip after she fell over one of her toys. And the last few days she's developed an awful cough and has woken in the night because of it, needing ages of backstroking to go back to sleep. Am veeerrrrry sleepy today.

CherryPie3 · 15/11/2011 22:15

Belly that's fantastic news!!! Go E!!!

Corey always wanted to be holding something bulky like the baby wipes or the Ikea catalogue (no idea...)

Hope she's (and you) get a good nights sleep and feel better soon. Sounds like it's been quite a week.

Fingers crossed C has slept the whole night through from 7:15-5/6am thelast few nights, so so so hoping for this to continue! :)

Good morning!

Hope everyone is well :)

Laundry putting away day here

Corey is in a dancing mood and is spinning around the room to the theme tune of Escape To The Country. The episode I'm watching currently (before I start the housework) is set in Wakefield which is my local city, if that makes sense. It's about 30 mins drive from here and it's where my dh works.

Sorry I know that seems a bit random but I'm itching to move to a more country's setting, it would be so good for the kids to grow up there as spouses to here!

Oh well, one day. Our budget just now is about £90k, possibly £100k. Will obviously be better when I go back to work in a couple of years.

Well that's my morning waffling done Grin

XxX

Nevermind, hope you're all well xxx

MaidenDevon · 16/11/2011 14:20

Ooooh, how lovely to hear from you Cherry, Belly & Girls (and anyone else I've missed).

My mumps have gone, only to be replaced by hacking cough and streaming cold - nice! F is still loving nursery, though is always clingy when I pick her up on a Tuesday because she has had a 3 day break.

I think accidents are just par for the course when they get on their feet - she did a "throwing herself spectacularly from the slide onto the floor" move yesterday, the nursery said she seemed more shocked than hurt (no bruises) and when I went in to pick her up, she was playing "king of the castle" at the top of the slide again - kids must be so resiliant.

My DSIL is pregnant (she has a daughter 2 weeks younger than F) so we will be making the trek oop north to visit her before little one (3rd girl for her) arrives and to celebrate MIL's 60th birthday at the same time. An 800 mile round trip and my reward is tea and a scone at Betty's in Harrogate (where I can complain that it's not as good as you get here in Devon, 'cos that's where real cream teas are made (though I do love all the hoity toity general Downton Abbeynessesque atmosphere) and fish and chips from Whitby, where I once got groped by a v.scary vampire at the Dracula Experience - yes, it was an experience! DH says it was an accident, I'm not sure, there was a definate lunge at my boobage Shock (lunge was by Dracula not DH Blush)

Nat - have you moved or are you still squatting? We did nothing for Bonfire Night other than look at other people's fireworks for free and the big display on the Hoe which we can see from our house if we stand on a stool and crane our necks

Really not sure about sparklers, of all the things you try and protect your kids from it seems insane to say to them one day a year "of course you can hold that burning hot piece of metal darling, just make sure you've got your gloves on and try not to wave it in your brother's face", though I did love them as a kid (and still do).

MakeTeaNotWar · 16/11/2011 14:22

hellooooo oh I miss you all and hearing what the little 'uns are up to! Go E, great news belly. And nice sleeping cherry long may it continue! S has started doing these really funny soliloquies, like she's telling a series of jokes in baby babble and then laughing at her own punchlines - hilarious, right little performer.
girls I can't believe you are so close, bonkers - can't wait to hear your news soon!

DH and I are off to see the Smashing Pumpkins tonight having seen the Red Hot Chilli Peppers last week - right pair of 90s throwbacks we are!

thedogwalker · 16/11/2011 16:15

Hello Maketea hope the ttc goes well. I am due exactly 7 months today. Nat any news on the moving front, hope you're not too stressed over it and I hope your move has gone/ is going well. Oh and I took T to an orgasised fireworks display and he loved it, couldn't take his eyes off them.
My T is walking, running and just about into everything before you can stop him. I am just sad that I don't get to see it all, with working full time. My Mum looks after him most of the week and he goes to creche on a Tuesday, but in the New Year he's going into creche full time as my Mum wants to go home. I wish she would stay, as DH is now away for 6 months, not due back until May and I will be getting bigger by the week as I'm due in June, so not sure how I will cope on my own, struggling with a very mobile DS and being heavily pregnant and no DH to help out in the evenings and weekends Sad. Sorry bit of a moan there.
Hope everyone is well and those suffering colds are feeling better. Take care xx

soontobefatnat · 16/11/2011 16:46

Oh Dog :( That does sound like hard, hard work. Any chance of hiring someone short term in May? Or maybe persuade/bribe your mum to come back for a few weeks so it's not all on you? There must be something we can come up with.

Devon bloody hell - 800 miles to go to Betty's?? (plus seeing your SIL, obvs!) I prefer the one in York meself. Fish and chips in Whitby tho? Lush. Dodgy boob obsessed vampire flashbacks notwithstanding!

Lovely to get your updates Cherry/Belly

Cannot believe Girls is so close to her next one!! One of my NCT friends is due next month and my mind is boggling to think about it! Good luck, lovely! Do come back and tell us your birth story when/if you get a mo!

Things are hectic here. Finally have a completion date (tomorrow!) and a moving date (Friday!!) AND we managed to persuade our horrid landlord to let us pay him rent for three extra weeks (durr) and not take us to court. Phew.

In Eli news, he has reverted back a few months and is desperately clingy. He has been ill and I think also teething, but I'm talking extreme clinginess here. Wailing and crying real tears when I move away from him or try and do anything like make food/make a phone call Confused. I'm trying hard to be understanding but I have to say that it's trying my patience. Along with the dramatic tantrums and pre-5am wake ups!!

Actually I have some exciting/scary news! I'm 5 weeks pregnant! It hasn't really sunk in yet and things feel so hectic at the moment that I'm trying to remember quite why we thought it was a sensible idea... But, needless to say, we're over the moon and I'm SURE someone told me it was easier with two!!

I have a questions for breastfeeding experts - wondering if Chulita lurks about, actually - did any of you wean a toddler off the boob and can you recommend anything in terms of tips? I reeeeally don't want to end up a dried out husk of a woman tandem feeding a toddler and a newborn. I'm going to hang on until Christmas (wait until the disruption of the move is over, and our trip to and from NYC) and tackle it at the end of next month. I'm so worried about how Eli will react :(

Sorry for the epic post!! Love to you and the kiddoes! X

thedogwalker · 16/11/2011 20:00

Congratulations Nat, so a July baby for you. So happy for you. DH and I were the same, so intent on getting pregnant again that it wasn't until we were, that we thought hang on can we cope with 2??? But there are so many people with 2 and loads more with more than 2, so I suppose we can all muddle through.

Forgot to say earlier, wow GYA hadn't realised your birth was so near. Keep us posted during your final weeks and of course after the big day. Take good care of yourself.

MakeTeaNotWar · 17/11/2011 09:57

Congrats Nat ! Wonderful news! I can't believe you left it until the 7th paragraph!!! And dog that sounds bloody tough - will your DH be around more once baby arrives? I forget your circumstances again - where is he, overseas?

Wow so is that 4 or 5 of us now who are prego again? I am soooo broody! But ust came off the pill

MakeTeaNotWar · 17/11/2011 09:58

oops sorry not sure what happened there - just came off the pill so we are in the earliest stages of TTC and I have no idea what my cycle is up to. Hope it doesn't take too long!

MaidenDevon · 17/11/2011 10:02

Oh Nat, you succumbed to that third glass of Vino Collapso didn't you? Grin, seriously huge congratulations to you and DH and big brother E of course!

Hope the move goes smoothly on Friday, I don't envy you, I remember last time we moved we ended up with most of our stuff in storage and gradually moved it into the new house over 4 weeks (loading up my car every lunch hour). Will def hire a van next time... Confused
