Or maybe piddling whilst giggling is just me? Blush
It's so sunny here I feel Spring has sprung - where's that daffodil emoticon gone? Had a friend round this morning for a natter and cake - muchos snot and tears but all good. Think I might go for a little bike ride now to blow the cobwebs away.
And no vag - not a chance!

Bugger sorry Beans obviously I meant good news not bad news and "is actually tried up" should have been "I actually tidied up". Lots of other crappy grammar but those are the ones that def needed explaining. I really should preview these messages.

JumpJockey · 23/03/2011 16:01

argh, sorry not to catch up with all the news but wanted to pop on quickly. God I'm tired of the fecking relentless hnnnng-cough-hnnnng-cough-hnnnng-cough-waaaah that E seems to do most of the time unless she's on the boob. Have been giving her dentinox and lots of burping/winding/farting but she's a bugger for refusing to nap then having a big wind attack 5 mins after I get her to sleep. Will nap ok in the sling/buggy as long as I keepmoving which is exactly the same as S was. I'd forgotten quite how personal it can feel when she's fallen asleep, happily burped and resting on my shoulder, pop her into buggy to get ready to go out and she starts yelling again. Neighbours must think she does nothing but cry as she's usually going as we leave the house then again as we come back.

But must be positive, this morning she smiled at me for a good 30 seconds before the yelling began :)

zoejeanne · 23/03/2011 20:14

Beans lovely news about your MIL. Will she need surgery to fix the appendix/bowel?

Vag the only thing that you were unreasonable about was letting her leave without tidying up, but then that would have meant her staying longer. What an odd lady, she reminds ms a bit of WG's MIL, with her outstaying her welcome/stalkerish behaviour

It's lovely to hear from you Jump when you have so little time to yourself. When did S grow out of the windiness? Hopefully it won't be much longer for E

I am very Envy of your camellia Arti, I've just got one, but suspect it won't flower this tear. We have engineered wood in our kitchen and I love it. I'd love reclaimed floorboards more but it wasn't to be, so we got reclaimed stripped pine doors to compensate. Your house sounds lovely

I am also Envy of LadyT and Rubes lunchtime cheerfulness, but I'd make a big old fool of myself if I indulged at lunchtime I think and would end up locked with Vag

Jolly it's so lovely to hear that J continues to gain weight, the routine must suit her. Ouch about your nips, mine got off very lightly with DD, so haven't any tried and tested solutions. I wonder if fresh air would help, if you could get away with wandering round the house with them out? If you're moving soon you don't need to worry about the neighbours Grin. Definitely get movers to do the work, had you still been pregnant you wouldn't have been able to pack or carry so you shouldn't be expected to do so now

DD was telling me some elaborate tale about 'Daddy's frog', 'shelf', 'grass', 'ribbit' and 'bounce' when I got home tonight, which I pretty much ignored because it was gobbledy gook. It turns out I was wrong and she was right - DH found a frog on the bookshelf Hmm and they put it in the grass by the pond. Apparently it was quite dusty so DH thinks it has been living in the house for a while. Not that my house is dusty, of course. It's all rather strange

spotofcheerfulness · 23/03/2011 20:18

I hear ya, JJ Smile. Twill pass, but it's a bugger on the back until then.

Vag that woman must have the thickest skin around! How could she not take such blatant hints? And so rude to let her boys trash the place. You sound very calm under the circs.

WG, how are things on the MIL front? So sorry to read your nightmare tales. Have been lurking a fair but but no time to post, but I can't imagine how suffocating that must be. POstnatal sounds like a fab idea, how is your appetite now?

SL, I would have the same fear, but of my own mother. That's terrible isn't it? But I can imagine the panic you must feel.

More to catch up on later I know, but both boys asleep at 7.30, which is a major result and due to the lighter mornings so they're now both up at 6. Came home on Fri, by sat am, B had pulled his NJ tube out. But as we were so fed up with the hospital we thought we'd try winging it without going back and just feeding him orally. And it seems to be working! So we're staying off radar now and hoping he'll get a lot better by himself. The combo of Omeprazole, Domperidone and Neocate seems to be working, thoughhaving to ditch the Gaviscon as the poor mite's so constipated.

loving the sunny weather, makes everything feel so much better.

A bientot, dinner beckons.

spotofcheerfulness · 23/03/2011 20:19

Oops totally missed a few pages about Jolly and Beans, will reread and come back anon,

SummerLightning · 23/03/2011 20:32

That is fab news spot! You sound much more cheerful, wonderful. I hope you don't have to got back to hospital!

wg glad you are feeling a bit better but you still sound knackered. I hope you are feeling better soon. How is the scar, and moving around, is that all ok now and it's just your energy levels?

Flipping heck vag that woman is an absolute psycho. How many hints can you drop without them being taken. Hopefully she thinks you hate her now and won't contact you again.

jolly I definitely think you should get movers in to do stuff, best money I spent in my life doing that when we last moved. Are you completing and having to move everything all on one day? AS actually I dont' know how we could have done it without movers all in one day, not without help from mates or something.

zoe that's so funny about the frog. Had me giggling. I love it when they say something that sounds like nonsense and it actually turns out to be true!

Bloody hell rubes and lady two bottles between you i am impressed, I would be hungover for a week.

beans what fab fab news about your MIL.

Had a nice day today - discovered you could cycle into town and hire a buggy so did that with DD, and went shopping for some kiddie clothes, picked up DS, went swimming with him and DH, and then went to Gourmet Burger Kitchen (I have finished dieting for better or worse!), with both kids asleep. Wonderful.
Then cycled back in the sun and went for a quick pint in the pub. Ace.

I am loving the house decorating talk arti, any chance of some sneaky pics when the lounge is finished. Lady your house sounds ace too, do you have a move in date yet (or should I not ask?!). And can we have some pics when you are finished as well? Sorry I am nosy.

zoejeanne · 23/03/2011 21:40

Its seems that B knew what he was doing when he pulled out his tube Spot, that's great that he is feeding better now. All my fingers are crossed he continues to improve

Summer your day sounds lovely, especially sneaking in a beer. What's with all this daytime drinking at the moment ladies? I've just heard MILs version of the frog tale - apparently she found it and DD kept saying 'Daddy's frog, Daddy's frog' so MIL assumed it was DH's pet and put it in a bucket so it couldn't escape. I wonder what he was like as a child, if having a pet frog on the book shelf now seems normal?

vagolaJahooli · 23/03/2011 21:58

That all sounds very lovely Lightening, isn't it lovely when the sun shines.

Spot Woohoo for oral feeding, woop woop. Well done Mr B! What's the way forward with the hernia, what follow up do you have? Spot she is a bit psycho, its not so much hate I feel for her, more fear.

I was giggling to myself on the possible police action if I'd had the bottle of wine. I'd have been arrested, but my breath test would probably be fine.

Arti I meant to say earlier, of those 2 light things you linked, I think I liked the 2nd, simple, but quite elegant. But then I get lighting solutions from IKEA so I'm not the best help.

SummerLightning · 23/03/2011 22:50

Zj that story gets better and better. Sounds like something out of three men and a boat!

waitinggirl · 24/03/2011 04:59

Things not great here. Now have fever of 102/39 so must go to doctor. Dd1 now throwing tantrums like I've never seen, including deliberately headbutting heavy wooden furniture. Dh had some bad news about his latest project and he is suppose to go back to work on Monday, and I still haven't regained any of my strength. We are all feeling very sorry for ourselves. Oh, and we are due at pil's for Easter. Ugh

SummerLightning · 24/03/2011 05:43

Oh wg just concentrate on getting yourself fixed. Dd will get happier when things settle down I promise. And mil will not seem so bad when you are feeling more yourself too (still be a pita though!)

JamInMyWellies · 24/03/2011 08:18

WG poor you. I second SL it will get better but am sure that just makes you want to poke me with a stick.

SPOT good luck sounds like you might be getting somewhere.

Had a lovely afternoon yesterday woth Effie and her gorgeous boys in the park. Amazing how much fun can be had with a skipping rope and an empty bandstand. Lovely to see how quickly Effies DS1 and mine became buddies.

Off to the zoo today got to make the most of this weather.

Artichokes · 24/03/2011 08:25

Oh WG, you need that post natal doula. Do you know of one with a good reputation? If not I can ask friends who they used. Or could your dad and lady friend come down for an extended stay?

If you need to just say no to PiL at Easter. Say you are too weak to travel. Say whatever you need to. Just put yourself first.

Great news about B, Spot. Do the hospital still think the tube is in? If he is happy on neocate and medicines then that's got to be the best way forward for all of you.

Artichokes · 24/03/2011 08:27

Oh and Veg, that woman sounds awful. She seems to lack any social awareness. Avoid avoid avoid.

waitinggirl · 24/03/2011 08:39

Arti, thx-any recommendations for postnatal doulas gratefully received.

Vg-that woman is mental and I reckon you can be ad blunt as you like with her. You have nothing to lose.

Beans33 · 24/03/2011 08:48

The other thing to use is a maternity nurse, WG. I had one with DD1 and found it invaluable. Although they don't do the housework. But they do look after YOU and the new baby and help you to look after DD1 too. I can send you the number of the one we used if you like on FB ?

xx

Beans33 · 24/03/2011 08:51

PS We are going to have a look at this house next week...

yay!

JamInMyWellies · 24/03/2011 08:52

Oh god yes totally forgot to say Vaggie mental nutcase woman. CLearly blunt is the best way to go.

JamInMyWellies · 24/03/2011 08:54

Crossed with you BEans, wowzers check you out with your country pile. Wink That looks seriously lovely.

SummerLightning · 24/03/2011 08:59

Blimey beans that house looks posh! It has a swimming pool!

Beans33 · 24/03/2011 09:22

I KNOW! We can't afford it, but having a look anyway! Hoping that if we offer £100k under the asking price they might accept. Hee hee! As if! We've been told to move out of here at the end of August, so we're starting to look around.

Vag - I think you handled that mentallist very well. She sounds like a hell case. Weeeeiiird. And not helping to clear up or apologising. AWFUL!

traceface · 24/03/2011 09:56

morning all Smile
I had my occ health appoitnment yesterday and I can go back to work! Hurrah! But I need to talk to my manager first, who is not yet in the office, so until she turns up I am free to idle away my time on MN (and avoid allt he actualy jobs which need doing Blush). I'm feeling so much better - helped by the beaustiful sunshine Smile Although my GP told me yesterday (because I asked) that my tablets cost £4 for 100, and my new ones almost £60 for 100, so I'm feeling incredibly guilty at the amount of NHS money being spent on me. I also asked her about the leaky boob, which she said can be a side effect of my new meds, but she's ordered some bloods too, to be sure (that is, to be certain, rather than an Irish ending to my sentence).
I'm a bit confused about my body - yesterday and today my boobs are so tender - which has been my dead cert pregnany sign with L and P. So I have a big list of pregga symptoms but a negative test Confused I even tested again today and it was a definite negative. So wierd to feel like this.
Right...
jb so wonderful to hear from you. I know exactly what you mean about thinking she should still be in your tummy. Very odd feeling. I used Lanisoh (?) on my nips and it was fab, but vag sounds like she knows what she's talking about as usual! As for my BP - I actually can't remember. It was a while thought, because I was an inpatient for 3 weeks, then was discharged still on BP meds, so I guess it was perhaps a couple of months before it really settled. And I agree you should have packers, movers, waiters, butlers and anyone else you can afford to help you move! You have had a big op and are in delicate days.
WG have you got yourself to the GP yet? Is your wound infected? High temp and didn't you say it was red and oozy? I hope you can get it checked today. You need an emergency appointment - and preferably for them to come to you at home.
spot I'm so happy for you Smile You are so overdue a break in the hard stuff. So pleased B is feeling better and has chosen his bottles over his tube! Do you have a community nurse or anyone looking after you? Also, if it's any reassurance, L had a hernia op when she was a few months old because she had 2 inguinal hernias, and she healed very quickly and has the teeniest tiniest scars from it.
jj sorry you're having troubles with dd2 Sad Don't worry about the neighbours - I'm sure it seems worse to you than it does to them. I always think P is the noisiest child in church, but no-one else seems to notice he above the general hubub of kiddy noise! If you're concerned about it could you have a chat with your neighbour and let them know it won't be for ever - just till she grows out of her windy pain? Are you getting enough rest?
zj sorry AF arrived, but have fun trying again Wink Your days in the sun sounded like bliss Smile And the frog story is sooooo funny!
jam are you feeling better now? How's the sickness?
sl that 'hire a buggy' thing is such a good idea. I've never heard of that before. Any development on the potential MIL move?
vag oh my word that lady is frighteningly odd! Fancy being so deaf to you hints! That is just really rude - and to make a huge mess and not offer to tidy up is very unfair. did you manage to get your feet up at the end of the day?
Beans hurrah for your MIL's results. What a relief. And wowsers that cottage is amazing! The perfect property for a mega-meet-up Wink
I've just tried the office again and she's still not in....
deids my love, we're thinking of you xxx
syb and urbane are still very quiet too - hope all is ok.
rubs and lady I'm Envy of your lunch time cheerfulness - although I don't drink, but I'm Envy of it in principal!
effie have you thought of having a little knitted items business? Your gifts always get rave reviews on here!

I obviously didn't mean to broadcast in bold about my nips! Blush

EffiePerine · 24/03/2011 10:47

Need to do a catch up but a quick wave to you all and it was lovely to see you and the boys yesterday, Jam :). Mine were out like a light by 7.

Rubena · 24/03/2011 10:53

WG sorry you are down. When you feel better physically, things won't seem half as bad.

That's great news Trace. Wonder what's going wrong with your body - those tests can be wrong you know Hmm

Vag, that lady is a whack job - lock your doors and install CCTV Grin

Beans, fabulous news about mil! The house is lovely. I see they are offering in to rent too. dh would never let us buy any house which is move in ready - but so much easier with kids. Good decision moving out of London - so much more for your money.
If we go to Aust for that 12 mth stint, I'm going to really struggle coming back as the houses are so much bigger over there. I felt really closed in in our house here for the first week after being in the US and Aust on hols.

I'm going to do a bit of eBaying today. So much to ge rid of.
Weather lovely. We've uncovered the outdoor table since the weather has hit a high of 16C Hmm well gotta take what you can get here right! DD has kicked off the alfresco dining season and had her brekky outside this morning. Lazy thing didn't wake up until 930am! No wonder she wants a feed at bloody 4am to tie her over Grin

So happy for you Spot, that things are settling down a bit. Long may it continue. Hopefully you've turned a corner there x
