To be fair GotArt I was thinking exactly the same as you as well. But I also understand what DOG was saying too.

Tired here as usual, I'm trying to get early nights, so I do not understand why I'm feeling sooo exhausted.

Well done you too Dog! I managed to run 4km mostly uphill without stopping today. This is progress. I can do about 6km total now, just have to have a 3 min break in between. No impending marathons planned!

Don't think so, as a lot of the time I go to bed at 10 or 11pm and am up by 5.30am or 6am and up twice in the night and it's been this way for too long

Had a nice nap today in my bed with DD shilst DS was asleep too. Ahhh how nice. Going to watch some tv now.

DOG I saw that pic on fb. Yuck.

Lenni I'm impressed too. I used to enjoy running but cannot get back into it now as I'd have to find some sucker to babysit 3 times a week (unlikely) Sad Envy

i'm in for a card or donation, whatever you think: so sad about it.

lenni, that's impressive running. i started couch to 5k a while ago, but seem to have sat back down again.... glad you are happy in new job.

tea, sorry you're tired, could be just a post-winter thing? weather here has been lovely and bright for the last couple of days, and you can almost see people's batteries recharging.

glad you had a good day, dog: sometimes it's worth the overspend.

well, quietish day here today: c has a terrible cold, and slept with us last night - she had a temperature all night, and nobody else got much sleep, but she seems better this evening. at least, she ate something, which is always a sign of recovery. snot everywhere for several more days though, i'm sure.

hope a good week for everybody
(especially missj)

I'm happy to donate btw.

I took the trash out a minute ago and wanted to lay on the wet grass and look at the stars and breath the air in. But I think all my neighbours would think I was mad. Also I can't really leave my DCs in the flat alone, it was a quick trip to the bin only.

I'm realising how insular my life is as a lone parent lately. If I was going to have a night out I'm not even sure what I'd want to do anymore.

He comes by loads to see them and spends the day with them. He does door work at the moment so he works a lot of evenings, but I can't complain as he comes by a fair amount. OW and ExH are going through a very wobbly patch at the moment. I suspect their relationship may come to an end soon. But I do not feel happy about it, just sad that he threw it all away for some daft 21 year old.

Still here... still in one piece... but am having little mild period-like cramps tonight and sweep tomorrow morning in any case, so am pretty certain that it will all get going tomorrow. Exciting! I just ran around and packed a bag for hospital and an overnight bag for N just in case.

Am happy to donate and write in card, of course - if Edgar has nominated a charity, then that's probably the easiest way to donate. How does a card work? I loved the card you all sent me after my miscarriage, and always wondered how you had managed to get so many signatures on it. It did mean a lot.

Lenni your running is sooooo impressive and must make you feel fab - loved your post about loving work too - am very Envy but remind myself that you are a couple of years ahead of me in terms of child-rearing (but also waaaaay younger than me, grrr!) and one day I might get a grown-up life back!

dog you too leave me speechless - spring cleaning? Wow. You somehow seem to make life look easier the more children you have, instead of the other way around. Maybe it really does work like that? Probably it's just you, domestic goddess!

tea bet they don't last - what an idiot. Gosh, there is so much pressure on you. I really hope you get to escape now and then - can't you just leave him in your flat with them when he's there one evening?

stripey poor C - hope you have a better night tonight.

GA I am not bothering with a double buggy for a few months - will just carry baby girl, and N rarely uses his buggy anymore anyway tbh, although it is brilliant when I have to go to more than one shop. Will just see how it goes. Can't believe you've only got 10 weeks to go. You were super early with V anyway, weren't you? So potentially even less to go. How exciting that you don't know which flavour yet!

Must go to bed now - cramps seem to have stopped while typing this, so may as well make the most of what is probably/ hopefully my last night without a newborn.

Wish me luck!

Oh wow I'm so excited MissJ. A buggy board would do for N when you do want to use the buggy for your gorgeous girl. But I agree slings rock in the early days Smile

Oh yeah if I had something good to do and money I'd definitely ask ExH to babysit here and there. But sadly no.... But I've just looked in on my sleeping babies next door in their bunk beds and just filled up with love, as they're both so fab. I have nothing to complain about, a nice little flat, 2 great kids. Life is good.

Yay! Good luck! Am so excited for you. Lots and lots of love and luck. Can't wait to hear about it.

Running has been remarkably easy. I downloaded the NHS couch to 5k podcasts from iTunes (are free) and just started mainly walking but found I could do the week 4 runs in week 1 as I think they are pitched fairly low. Am onto week 6 officially now but am carrying on running through most of the walking sections. Is amazing how quickly your body responds to exercise! Have been mainly going at 5.30/6am before anyone wakes up, which is really invigorating with the sun rising over the fells.

tea you sound happy Smile - and you're right, you are super lucky. And your kids are very lucky to have you too. Ex-H missed out big time!

lenni isn't it freeeeeezing cold at that time? What do you wear? You must feel amazing for the rest of the day.

Nothing really happening here except some mild cramps - but it's definitely the start of something, so that's good - means I can say no to the sweep in the morning I think, and at least leave it a couple more days. Feeling quite calm although can't sleep. But fb is boring and MN childbirth threads are beginning to scare me!

Lenni I remember running that first 10 minute mile and how exhilarating it was. That's great about the running. It is amazing how quickly your body responds to exercise.

MJ I've stayed clear of the birthing threads too and agree, FB is starting to bore the hell out me. (said as I watch some shite show about Charlie Sheen. lol)

Let me know how to send donation or what we are doing for Edgar.

Ciao for now.

MissJ I'm replying only to relieve your pg boredom, but in the hope it no longer needs relieving! I wear trackies and a thermal top - my skiing base layer. I'm freezing at first but soon warm up! Hurts my ears though, I need a hat. Won't be long and your mummying days will be done, enjoy those newborn milky hugs, they are special in a way no job ever is.

Hope those cramps are still coming and baby girl is en route.

Thanks for thoughts... nothing at all happening, but am thinking maybe I won't have sweep after all if it's going to happen naturally but slowly, and just give my body a chance.

dog lol at cat!

lenni I would have tears streaming down my cheeks running in the cold like that - it must be exhilarating. Have a good day at work.

ga there is a donations link on the original bereavement thread - I'm going to donate anonymously but make a little note that I'm from the jan 09 thread, so if we all did that, I think that would be nice and show we are thinking of her and her family. But of course up to every individual.

Right, had better call my Mum and sister and tell them there's no immediate baby action! They will have been on tenterhooks all night, I really shouldn't have called them yesterday! Poor bastards, they are more desperate than me to meet this baby....

Have a good day everyone and hope to have some news later or at least some more waffle chat to keep myself entertained.

I think I wouldn't agree to the sweep either but I think I'm biased due to my experience of intervention left, right and centre in both my labours and how things didn't go like I'd have liked at all.

My DD keeps dreaming about horse riding and a big brown pony she's riding. I've promised her this Summer when she turns 4 I'll see what I can do. Eek! Bless her she loves horses, we're always going down to local field to stroke them and sneak them an apple or carrot Blush

hi tink

tea you should come in the summer and bring DD - horses a-plenty here! Let's try to organise something. I'm not too far from pat and lenni has been known to come this way too, so we could try for a get together!

Hey MissJ...I am thinking of you too, went 12 days over with Hebe and went slightly mad before the end. I don't think sweeps make that much difference unless you are ready, I had about 3 with DD2 to no avail....then one the day before she was born, so maybe it got things going...who knows. I just kept repeating to myself "I can't be pregnant for ever" and lo and behold I wasn't! Anyway, lots of good vibes and jaffa cakes being sent your way.

Wow at all the running going on on this thread. I am really feeling in the need to do some exercise, thought I might start with a bit of yoga and take it very slowly from there. I am back to my pre preg weight (fuck knows how as I am surviving on a diet of cake, biscuits and left over childrens' food) but my stomach seems to be lacking any of the muscles that were formerly there, so when I sit down it is not a pretty sight. DD1 recently pointed out "Mummy, look at your tummy and bottom they wobble like jelly", thanks for that DD1.

Sorry for not catching up properly with everyone, have read the thread but am juggling children this mornig and had a mad busy weekend and am ever so slightly knackered. Going up and down between London and Suffolk to see my dear old Pa at the moment too, so its all a bit hectic.

Took DD2 for her jabs this morning, forgotton how traumatising that was (for me not her...she forgot all about it as soon as I put my boob in her mouth!)

I have given an annonymous donation to clic through by sponsoring The Second Comming's husband in the marathon, Edgar suggested this to everyone, so here is the link if anyone would like it:

CLIC Donations for Edgar's DS

Shall we organise a card? I don't mind doing this. What is the best way? I could PM people my address and you could send me your bit on a nice/coloured piece of paper and I could stick them all into a card and pass it on to MN towers to forward to Edgar?

Report
120 · 21/03/2011 11:50

yes to card! best way was through a group message on FB last time and we sent it to each other (and moosey I think), then the final person sent it (or in HZ's case I gave it).
