Oooooooo Stripey GrinGrinGrin

So glad you are feeling better DOG. COuld you not squeeze in trip to gp anyway?

Can't remember anything else, Sorry!! Been up for hours as just done a night shift. Have to stay up too, teaching at 1, then take dd1 to gymnastics at 4.40....not worth trying to get an hour. Be too hard to get up again.

Need to crack on with another essay really.

Yay Stripey Grin

stripeywoollenhat · 24/03/2011 10:08

yes, i am quite pleased... though with all the caveats: old lady, breast lump, not getting ahead of self. and also am already feeling shattered, tbh, so 9 months seems pretty daunting...

loads of coffee for you, tree Smile

em, federal poo?

moosemama · 24/03/2011 10:24

Grin Stripey. Lovely news to see as soon as I switched the laptop on this morning. Smile

Tree, sounds like you have really a heavy day to get through - whatever happened to pacing yourself?

tinksbabyis2 · 24/03/2011 10:51

wow congrats stripey Grin

hi dog mm and other ladies

missjackson · 24/03/2011 11:28

Yey Stripey, amazing news! Grin Grin
All good here.

hackneyzoo · 24/03/2011 13:39

Glad all is good missj. You got a name yet? I really like both of your choices so am no help what so ever. Your description of giving birth bought it all back, it reminded me when Hebe was crowning, after reading all that Ina May, especially the bit about orgasmic birth, I just remember thinking...hmmm, maybe if I relax it will be all orgasmic...quickly followed by 'hmmm this feeling is actually the opposite of orgasm' and finally ' i must remind myself never ever to do tis again!' GrinBirth, 'Tis a beautiful thing!

Just booked a yurt in Fowey...is that near you Dog? I guess staying in a yurt is a complete townie thing to do...but I don't care, I'm very excited! Not going until 13th may though.

120 · 24/03/2011 17:15

chin up tree! sleep is for the....zzzzzzz

tink, I was wondering whether to do that with H. Is B really difficult in the afternoon or can she cope? H still sleeps 2 hours, but mucks about for half an hour when we put in to bed. Maybe I should wait until he actually starts getting up!

stripeywoollenhat · 24/03/2011 18:12

120, c dropped her nap a few months ago - she's a bit of a tragedy for the last hour of her day, but except when she's sick, there's no going back....

120 · 24/03/2011 18:13

that's what I'm afraid of. I think I'll keep H's going until he starts getting shitty when he wakes up. That's when we knew to stop with DD!

Congratulations Stripey and MissJ Grin and welcome to the world baby Jackson. Can't wait to meet her! The birth sounded much less traumatic than Nye's but also blinking painful!

Stripey, am so so pleased for you after all that has happened to get here. Will have everything crossed for you to sail through the next 9 months.

PatTheHammer · 24/03/2011 20:43

Oh wow, congrats to Mrs and Mrs StripeyGrin, just the best day today isn't it! So nice and sunny and loads of good news. Saw some lovely friends today and me and Z has a great swim this morning (where I found 2 pound coins at the swimming pool---whoop!). My student cancelled for tonight too at the last minute so instead of talking about boring A level stuff I made a turkey stroganoff and had a nice crip glass of Pinot, much better!

Lovely, lovely hugs all round to everyone, especially to new babies and to Mr.A and Dog (its all going in the right direction I think, just think back and remember how far he has come. Try not to worry about what the future may hold, we could drive ourselves mad worrying about our LO's when they are older. He is healthy and happy now and that is due to YOU!)

Yes, so what about that name then, census tomorrow y'know MissJ.............Wink.
How many times is she feeding at the moment then, or is it at that constant boob attachment stage? How is N doing? Proud big bro I guess!

Good shopping Tink

WRT daytime naps Z is a bit hit and miss. If we are busy he doesn't have one, if he kicks up a massive fuss then he doesn't have one. At nursery he still has an hour nap about twice a week. And do you know it makes NO DIFFERENCE to his night sleep whether he has one or not, he is a lazy sod and I had to shake him out of bed today at 7.45 to avoid being late for the school run!

Hols sound good HKZ and Tree. We may be popping to South Devon in the June half term, close enough for a meet Dog???????

GotArt · 24/03/2011 21:21

Yeah again Stripey. So exciting for you and DP.

Summer holiday planning here too. Our camping trip is set for July, there'll be 6 massive trailers, 3 tents and a shit load of kids! Its going to be great. MIL, SIL and niece are coming to visit second week of June; they'll be driving around the interior before coming to the island and will only be here a couple of days. For a couple of days, we may just have them stay here... we can put the foamy in DD's room and the four of us will bunk in there, MIL and SIL can sleep in our room and niece can crash on the couch. One or two nights isn't too bad. My youngest sister is coming end of August for a week too... so happy about that. My chance to sell her on the idea of moving out here. Grin

DD still naps, thank fricken goodness. 2 hours usually if we are out in the morning doing stuff, which we usually seem to be for the most part as of late, or just an hour if we've been hanging out at home. I find if I get her in there by 1pm, she goes down OK, but anything later than 2, it takes forever for her to simmer down. Overtired I suppose. She has been going to bed later, closer to 9, since the clocks went forward, but that has more to do with mom not getting dinner on for 5 and then everything gets pushed back.

Completely shattered. Went to friend's baby shower this morning and we brought all the kids and I ate my weight in Timbits... Tim Horton's is the big donut chain in Canada and they have timbits which are suppose to be the centers of the donuts. Maybe when they first started making them, but they are manufactured now, so probably not... but I feel like a beached whale right now. Might try for a nap... yes, a nap. [droopy eyes emoticon]

tinksbabyis2 · 24/03/2011 21:33

Evening

120 ~ so glad I dropped her lunch time naps has made a big
Difference!
Now she goes straight 2 sleep when I put her down @ nite
Still put her up @ lunch but with blind open and bks but just 4 an hour
Then I still get peace

stripeywoollenhat · 24/03/2011 22:03

evening all - thanks for all the pleasedness Smile we are cautiously delighted

delight slightly dampened by the vomiting child - she seemed much better today, but i took her to the doctor who says her throat looks pretty nasty and the vomiting is from mucus, and wrote a prescription for abs. oh well, we can't allow this vomiting to go on like this, so to the chemist with me in the morning. were supposed to be oging out this evening, but i am wiped out (already!) and didn't think it would be fair to leave the potentially vomiting girl in the care of my mum. bah, though.

holiday plans all sound fab.

tinksbabyis2 · 25/03/2011 09:43

stripey hope she gets better soon poor thing!!

missjackson · 25/03/2011 13:05

Poor C, sounds really nasty - hope the antibiotics knock it on the head. How are you feeling yourself stripey; tired, sick? I know you're staying cool but I'm so excited for you Grin.

We have bravely named the little one Nesta Louise. It's very unusual, I know, but it is an ancient Welsh name (there was a very cool Princess Nesta here) and I just love it. Welsh people know it (it's a proper old ladies name here!), and so do most English people I think - so a bit like N's name.

Dog sounds like you have had some great advice about Mr A - I'm so sorry you've been so upset by it all though. He sounds like such a lovely kid, I'm sure it will all work out - everyone is different.

hkz Grin at IM's orgasmic birth - I do wonder.... There is actually a bit in the IM book where she says sometimes labour halts between dilating and pushing stages even to the point where some women can grab a couple of hours of sleep - this is exactly how I felt - but I don't think it's within NICE guidelines Hmm ( tree any experience of this?!) so they were eager for me to crack on. How's your Dad doing? Yey for the yurt btw - I would love to set up a yurt place here on the farm but will have to wait until PIL situation less complicated. Fowey is really lovely! You will have a great time.

We too are torn between dropping naps or not. On days that he doesn't sleep, he is actually ready for bed approx 12-13 hours after he woke up, so we can just about get away with bedtime at 9pm (we don't generally wake up till 8am). If he naps, he won't sleep until we do, around 10.30-11pm. Think we will just go with the flow for now though - it works for us to have lots of flexibility.

Having a lovely snuggly time in bed with baby girl - haven't got dressed properly or left the house since she was born, and just staying cuddled up to her. Really regretted being up and about so quickly with N, handing him around to all and sundry, so am insisting on my babymoon period now. She sleeps snuggled next to me in just her nappy, with N on the other side cuddled against my back! So far, so good... but I know this is the nice sleepy stage... enjoying it while it lasts!

moosemama · 25/03/2011 13:25

Aw MissJ, that's a lovely name - you are making me all broody with your lovely snuggley story. Smile

Stripey, poor little C and poor you coping with a poorly dd when you are already feeling exhausted. Hope the abs kick in quickly and she's feeling better really soon.

Dd naps for about an hour and a half every afternoon at the moment. She would sleep longer, but I have to wake her for the school run and if I put her down any earlier she doesn't go off to sleep very easily, so its the same end result. She goes to bed at 7.30 at the moment and is generally asleep within a maximum of 20 minutes. She definitely goes off more quickly for me than she does for dh though - I think its because she's conditioned to sleep when I sing certain traditional Irish songs - both the boys were the same. Dh does a good line in twinkle twinkle, but it doesn't have quite the same effect. Smile

Dd's new trick is waking up at 4.30 am - for a chat! "Hello Mummy, I in my cot, what you doing?" "I got my bunny and miss mouse - they are dancing" etc etc Aargh! We really need to finish her bedroom and get her in there asap! I think its the lighter mornings that are doing it, so we're off to invest in a black out blind this weekend.

tinksbabyis2 · 25/03/2011 14:44

Lovely miss j
