HT-hope the funeral goes OK. As for the check up, thank goodness Matthew is 23 lb and in proportion with his height between the 9th and 25th centiles and Joe will be just the same. [hsmile] Joe obviously knows lots of words and it doesn't matter whether you are a SAHM or a working mum, this has nothing to do with development as I have been a working mum and SAHM. When I look in my red book Emma had a 2 year check but Sophie didn't so why they are doing them again I don't know as it just causes unecessary stress. But, I am sure Joe will pass with flying colours especially as he is in his own home!

Back later, must peel some potatoes for chips. Don't you just love Come Dine With Me? [hgrin]

Laters!

Shoe boxes are filled with gifts for children that don't get Christmas pressents.I think they are going to Africa.Face cloth, soap, tooth brush, ball, skipping rope, pens and pencils and some sweets etc.It is a really lovely thing for the children to do.It helps them understand.

DD is on the mend thanks X

littlepea72 · 21/10/2011 07:44

HT children wont be rushed, bottom line Grin My DS1 was walking at 9 months and started talking at 10 months (climbing door frames not long after lol) but Faith was about a year later than that, she is now starting to put a few things together. My cousins little boy only started talking a few weeks ago, he is 3. They thought there was a problem as he only ever said a few things, turns out he was able to talk, he just choose not to Shock So maybe Joe just doesnt want to talk all the time, the main thing is you know he can, and he is good at it when he does.
I hate these people who have a go at you....you dont work, its bad for the kids, you do work, its bad for the kids! I put Ethan into a nursery even though I didnt work in Canada, it wasnt the best place for him, so when it came to Faith, I put her in a couple of mornings a week, and she hated it, withdrew into herself. As long as your child is happy then what more can you ask for, anyway you take Joe to groups! And OMG Joe is soooo not behind! He is so far in front from what I read, I love him xx
I cant get used to the funeral's in England/Wales, we have it 2 days after, you seem to wait a week. Be careful with the drive, stay overnight if you feel tired (listen to old mother hen lol) and enjoy the break! Give my love to your Aunt. Oh god that sounds terrible, enjoy the break, but you know what I mean Shock I will be thinking about you xx

Love the shoe boxes, its a nice thing to do for the kids.

Fidelma I cant believe that someone would put a child of that age to bed so early! To me thats a parent who wants her evenings to herself and to hell with the child. I take it the child doesnt do anything outside the school! I too have no grey hair.....thanks to the magic of the little nice n easy bottle LOL....

HC you are scaring me! Does the snow get so bad in England? We dont get that much! Do you think Southampton would get much being so south?

Calypso loving the singing Grin and well done with the potty training! Faith is telling us after she has done it in her nappy, I suppose we have to start somewhere lol.

Iggly where are you????

Want to know how the 2 bumps are doing Grin

Gabe is teething, I forgot how bad that can be Sad
We move into our new house in Marchwood on the 15th Nov. Its a small house the army have given us, we are going to have to get Faith & Gabe to share as DS1 needs his space with his ASD. Darn Schooling board are putting him into mainstream, oh well, can fight better when im over there. Not sure how I am feeling about moving in with hubby again after so long. We had big fight yesterday and he said some nasty things, one was that i couldnt be stressed out being here with 3 kids and doing all this stuff, in his words it doesnt take much to do it, and i no doubt send most of my time with a coffee in front of the tv! He also said something else which has hurt me so much, i can never forgive him for....I think its going to be touch and go and only time will tell if we will make it. At least we will be in the same house if I need to crack him round the head with our iron frying pan! lol Shock

Right better go, packing to do (or is that coffee & tv grrrrrrr)

xxx

Iggly · 21/10/2011 07:48

Marks spot! Saw this in active convos Grin

Hope all is well with everyone and the two year birthday celebrations have been fun!!
Will come back with a proper report and read later. Just to say for now I'm 34 weeks and feeling like a beached whale Hmm work is a struggle as is being at home waddling after W!

Iggly · 21/10/2011 07:49

littlepea sorry to hear about you and your DH :(

HappyTangerine · 21/10/2011 20:31

HC and littlepea* Thank you for your kind words, they have made me feel loads better [hsmile]. I feel bad that I am so excited about going home on my own but so looking forward to it. Haven't driven that much since Joe was born (small distraction of him yelling "want mummy" and trying to escape car seat every time I do) so I'm hoping this will kickstart it. Silly really, I used to drive 25000 miles a year till he was born.

I have just found out my cousin is paying £1100 a month to put her 1 yr old in nursery 4 days a week and he is having trouble settling. £1100 [hshock] we could never afford that.

HC Fogot to say that I also stock up in case of bad weather, it comes from a childhood in Wales where we were snowed in every winter. I hyperventilated at thought of running out of teabags though! I've no idea why they are doing these checks again, seems to be only in England.

littlepea I am sorry your dh is being an arse. Men are well known for being unable to engage brain before mouth, it's something of a design flaw. [hwink] Given that he's not exactly helping with the packing, now is not a good time to upset you. It's so hard to have an argument long distance, dh and I were terrible for it, and we had known each other since we were 13. All the little nuances, looks and touches that can soften harsh words are absent and it leads to so much grief and miscommunication. It sounds like he needs to be reminded of what it's like to be a full time parent again. Is he nervous about you being all together? I think you are a bloody brilliant mum - you do an amazing job with your three and you're doing it mostly on your OWN. I don't know if he ever gets a day "off" so to speak but once he does, leave him with the kids and bugger off for the day. Big cwtch (Welsh roughly translating as hug but actually meaning so much more) xx

fidelma re shoeboxes-ahh, thanks for that. Sounds like a lovely idea. Glad dd1 is on the mend.

Iggly Hello, great to hear from you. Gladd all is well with pg and W.

Big wave to any lurkers x

fidelma · 22/10/2011 15:20

Busy morning for us,swimming,BandQ,feeding my friends cats and spraying the geko!!!!,shopping for steaks yum yum, papers, lunch and a snooze on the sofa while the boys laugh at peppa pig.Now a big cup of tea and some panatonne (sp?) dh is doing some curtain repairs in ds1s bedroom so I will need to go and sort out the devistation that he has found!

need to get myself going again but would quite like to veg!

fidelma · 22/10/2011 18:10

OMG the stuff 4 dc generate.I feel ill!

HumphreysCorner · 23/10/2011 17:57

fidelma you are seriously putting me off! Sounds like our house except DH still hasn't got round to sorting Matty boys curtains.

Actually, am still reeling from the death of a GP rider this morning. So very tragic. Sad

Then, went to pick some brussel sprouts from my patch and spotted next doors dog sneaking through the hedge. DH wouldn't go and tell them so took DD1 & 2 and told her, she said she would have a look and shut the door!

Anyway, littlepea-I am sorry to hear things are not 100% opk. I often wonder what it is like to have a DH/DP that works away and what it must be like to live with them full time. Try and make it work eh, as I can't imagine what it is like to be without my DH.

Big wave!

Poor Joe not well at all [hsad]. Cough, sneezy and a rash of teeny pimples above his top lip and scattered over other parts of his face plus a nasty angry rash of same pimples on his arm. Looks v sore. I thought it might all be down to change of shampoo but am now wondering about hand, foot and mouth. Off to GP in the morning. Had a little panic earlier when I took his socks off and his feet were really cold. Dh, however, thinks I am a lizard with a vastly different body temp to humans Hmm

HC I saw the news about the death of the driver, so young and so sad

fidelma I am tired just reading your post!

littlepea72 · 23/10/2011 21:10

HC such a bad crash Sad and the poor family must have watched it. I feel so bad for Edwards & Rossi, not something you are ever going to forget. Such a waste of a lovely talented man.

HT Hope Joe is ok, let us know how he is doing tomorrow x

HappyTangerine · 24/10/2011 15:31

Doctor shrugged shoulders, said its none of the things I thought and probably just a virus. Prescribed hydrocortisone cream. He made a comment about how its one thing afer another at the moment. I did point out that I'd increased the no of groups we go to and he just mentioned how they were a breeding ground for germs so that'll be why. Dh a bit stressy about it but I'm not going to stop taking him just because kids pass on germs to each other. Bloody awful nights sleep though-I use sleep in the loosest sense of the word. 2 nights on the trot, Joe will only sleep in my arms. If I take my arm from under him, he wakes up crying and flips sides. Meltdown if I dare nip downstairs or leave him with dh.

What's the longest a person has gone without sleep without going mad I wonder?

HappyTangerine · 25/10/2011 21:40

This weird rash is now on one big patch on Joe's arm and dotted up the arm and down the right hand side of his back. A few spots on his face as well. Any idea what this is? And am I a bit mad for thinking it could be shingles?
I don't want to leave him on Thursday and do a 500 mile round trip [hsad]

fidelma · 25/10/2011 22:16

I don't think it is shingles HT is he poorly?

Waves to everyone. (exhausted off to bed X)

HumphreysCorner · 26/10/2011 09:05

HT-not sure as all of mine used to get viral rashes which disappeared soon after but as you are going away you need to take Joe to the Drs. Let us know how you get on.

Waves to everyone!

Thanks both. Doctor had said on Monday to bring him back in a week if rash hadn't gone. His glands are up etc so he's obviously fighting infection. Fine in himself yesterday but full of snot and coughing today, v miserable bu no temp. Glass test all ok. The rash has now spread downwards with spots on his back, chest, legs, still with that concentrated big red cluster of them on his arm. If he hadn't had the MMR, I'd be convinced it was measles. Must be a viral thing.

Scout19075 · 26/10/2011 23:17

Need to go back and read through but sitting here thinking that on this date two years ago I was stuck in the maternity hospital -- I had to go in for induction but they were so busy in the labor ward they couldn't take me but they wouldn't let me go home. It was the start of a long week in the hospital. My baby turns two on Friday.... Sad and [happy] at the same time.

fidelma · 28/10/2011 00:03

Going to teach Pilates tomorrow.got my head back in thr groove!

HappyTangerine · 28/10/2011 22:21

Good luck fidelma sounds fun in a stretchy way Wink

scout Hope seb has/had a fab birthday

Littlepea Hope the move went well for you all x

Joe is much better in himself and had been diagnosed with post viral excema. We all survived my day/night away from him - although only just in the case of dh who shot out of the door like a rocket this morning and went to work 2 hours early![hgrin] He rang me, knackered after yesterday and said "I know why you take him to all those groups now!" Journey was exhausting, am amazed that I used to travel that 250+ miles nearly every day for 6 years in my last job. Funeral went ok, we gave my uncle a good send off. I got to spend a lot of time with my brothers which was really precious to me.

HumphreysCorner · 29/10/2011 17:28

HT-pleased all went ok, I haven't seen my bro since June 2010 and no idea when I will [hsad] so appreciate how special it is to spend time with yours. Our DH's have no idea what it is like looking after 1, 2, 3, 4 DC do they?

AF arrived today so a tad [hsad] Hey ho, worse things at sea as they say. Well yes, I have managed to break the screen of DD1's laptop so have had to order a new one. DD1 and DD2 are having a sleepover at my mum and dad's so she doesn't know yet.

Big wave!

Joe's attatchment to this huge red beanbag we have is hilarious - he's dragging it along with him everywhere - like a cross between a giant Iggle Piggle's blanket and Santa's sack! Tonight I have cleaned the teeth of one ds, his cherished ted, one elephant, one zebra, two lions, a hippo and a penguin-then had to carry them all up to bed. I crave an upstairs bathroom!

HC Sorry about AFSad Thats so sad you never get to see your brother, does he live abroad? Oh, our 2yr check is booked for end of November, should be fun-it's at the health centre. I predict chaos Grin

Big wave to everyone x

fidelma · 02/11/2011 22:32

Ht love the teeth brushing LOL!

All good here.No colds as yet (won't be long)

Heads down at school for the next 4 weeks then Christmas madness begins. (feeling the pressure)

is it to early to start writting cards?

Been doing a few we private ballet lessons and loving it. (want a life back)

HumphreysCorner · 03/11/2011 09:43

HT-no, my bro only lives an hour away. Blame my toxic SIL.

fidelma-having a firework party on Saturday night then it is full on towards Christmas. Bought my cards in January and will be writing them soon. Smile All excited because I got my Tesco clubcard vouchers yesterday so can now buy all our Christmas nibbles, table decorations and some presents. Grin

Matthew is still not talking just screaming lots . Getting closer to January when the HV is going to ring to check for speech progress. Why oh why don't they do what they did when DD2 was 2, send a form to you asking if you have any worries, you tick the boxes and post it back-job done!

Righty ho, things to do, places to go. Smile

Laters and big wave!

Hello everyone :)

Littlepea are you in Marchwood yet? If so - welcome to SE England! My brother still lives in Southampton so if I'm ever down and you happen to have a spare half hour (haha) we could meet, one day...

HC sorry to hear about AF (although I still think you're completely barmy!). Fingers crossed for next time.

HT Glad that the trip to Wales went ahead, sounded like it was well worth it even though it was so short. Heh, men really have NO IDEA about what full-time childcare entails! Hope Joe gets better soon, that rash sounds nasty. Are you running at the moment?

fidelma I LOVE pilates, I wish I still had time in my life to go, they do a good ante-natal one down the road but every second I'm not doing childcare / at work I'm revising for my viva. Once its over I think I'll treat myself :o

Some of you may have spotted on FB that I had my 20wk scan, all well and am chuffed to bits they think its probably a girl, yay! Wouldn't have minded a boy but as much as I like my brother I wish I had a sister and hope these two will be close (and not fight all of the time!).

Right lunchbreak over, best get back to work, kisses to all xox
