New thread cos we've nearly filled the last one!

Congrats Caz, so pleased for you! Smile

I am feeling quite low today, dh away, found a sodding mouse running riot and I just can't help thinking about Edgar and her little boy. ds has been not right all day and am on panic alert as he has a temp and is teething. All perfectly normal I expect but just a bit cautious!

soontobefatnat · 22/03/2011 20:48

Caz I'm over the moon for you both, and bloody well done for (literally) braving Mothercare. It sounds like you're approaching this just right - remembering Belle, but also starting things off afresh. New journal a great idea. So exciting! Keep us posted!

LOL Belly at the Vulcan death grip. It's the worst - especially with scratchy nails!

We had a feckin mouse in our front room last week Figgy :( I'm gutted. But what's the Edgar story you mention? Should I be worrying?

E did five poos today, and was crying for the last couple, poor thing. Guess he'd got a bit constipated? Thing is, they weren't hard or dry, so am unsure why they bothered him so much... Maybe just because they all new and solid-y? (Will stop going on about poo now, and go and watch the Killing. Am obsessed! Anyone else watching?)

Figgyrolls · 22/03/2011 21:03

No don't be worrying at all, just another regular poster lost her ds at the end of last week (2) from a brain tumor - all a bit sudden and a huge shock as you would expect. For some reason the story completely knocked me sideways.

The sodding mouse was in dds toys and it had eaten a few toys - it was still in there when I moved some of the toys and it ran and jumped - toy basket outside until dh returns...............sodding cat for NOT catching it in the house and for it bringing the thing in to start off with!

morsbagmum · 23/03/2011 08:48

Figgyrolls the Edgar situation has knocked everybody I think - I hugged miss E so tightly when i read what had happened I'm starting my knitted squares for the quilt today and I'm going to send some fabric too for the quilt - it's the least I can do and hope it will be of some comfort.

Caz huge congratulations to you.

Nothing new to report here, Miss E is going to nanas today so I can get organised and tackle the ironing pile..... it's nearly at the ceiling!

Figgyrolls · 23/03/2011 09:42

Oh what a night, up every hour with my baby, he has had temp and not so much eating Sad but the weather is lovely, I have my lovely little girl at home too and my parents are back home from holiday so hooray perhaps we can see them and chirp up a bit!

bellygazing · 23/03/2011 10:11

caz that's fantastic news - scary and exciting at the same time. Rooting for you all.

Chulita · 23/03/2011 12:56

cazandbelle great news on the scan, must really make it so much more real! I hope you really enjoy this pregnancy :)

figgy I had a crap day on Sunday, just felt really overwhelmed emotionally, Edgar's DS was the same age as L and I can't stop thinking about how much I would die inside without her running around wittering. I hope that mouse is outside and not trotting around your house!

S isn't sleeping through any more, 5 days was all he could manage! Not to worry, we'll get there.

thedogwalker · 23/03/2011 13:35

Hi all

CazandBelle that it wonderful news, so happy for you. Please keep us posted.

Yuk on the mouse front, hope you can catch it and kill dispose of it soon.

All back to normal in my household, Thomas back to sleephing through, well until the next bout of teething, but its great to know that he can go back to normal routine when he isn't in pain. Much to the relief of me, who after 9 nights of little sleep, was knackered, wimp that I am, so I'm really sending lots of sleep vibes to any of you who still suffer from little sleep. I take my hat off to you all for coping for so long.

Take care all xx

Woodlands · 23/03/2011 23:09

fab news Caz!

Not much to report here, J has been the most ill he's been so far (but luckily and touching wood he is a healthy little thing so that's not saying much!). He's had some sort of a virus with a nasty rash and has been very clingy and unhappy. He's on the mend now though. He's growing out of his 9-12 month babygros Shock and his 6-9 month trousers - really must go shopping soon. He suddenly seems to have got longer and thinner. No crawling yet!

neenz · 24/03/2011 17:25

I've been laid low with a rotten cold this last couple of weeks and all the kids have had it too - been feeling so tired and rough! We are all much better now tho Daniel still is all chesty and bunged up - he slept in his bouncy chair the other night cos he wouldn't settle in his cot or our bed!

Marzi come over to our June 08 thread and check out the bad behaviour of some of our almost-3-year-olds! Whinge whinge whinge, whine whine whine, meltdown when things don't go their way... you have this all to look forward to Smile. 7mos are a piece of piss in comparison! I hardly know I have Daniel sometimes.

Well I know I have him at night Wink. He is still waking once, not too bad as long as I get to bed early and the twins don't wake me too or get up too early.

We are off to BIL's tomorrow so I can go to the March For The Alternative on saturday - I think I will be marching with the PCS union so Nat if you see us I'll be the one with a buggy!

neenz · 24/03/2011 17:26

Sorry I forgot to say how pleased I am for you Caz. I wish you a trouble-free pregnancy and as worry-free as possible too (not easy I know)

girlsyearapart · 24/03/2011 22:07

Keep trying to post but it won't work..

girlsyearapart · 24/03/2011 22:11

So that boring one works then!!

Sorry haven't posted in ages - unless they did work..

Congrats Caz that's great news. Wishing you lots of luck and love.

Still not pregnant here. This month have been doing the deed every other day though in an attempt to catch the right day.

Funny how's it's our 4 th and this is the first time we re actually ' trying'

Not going to post much more as too frustrating to lose another long message

Figgyrolls · 24/03/2011 23:11

Mouse is outside, oh yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't remember if I said I found it in the toy box RUNNING YES RUNNING around. Little bastard, the whole toy box remained outside until dh returned home! It did see sense though as it wasn't there on his return the following day!

Ds really badly teething, poor thing is moaning in his sleep!

I am so tired.................

Girls, good for you! I can't deal with 2 very easily so hats off. I haven't caught up with all the posts but is anyone pg again?

soontobefatnat · 25/03/2011 18:58

neez will keep an eye out for you!! My union is Unison, but I think I'm just going to end up marching with a few mates. Fingers crossed it will be a calm and yet powerful protest!

Gosh, is anyone else pregnant apart from Caz?! I was just out and about today with my NCT friends and we were talking about how lovely it was being pregnant in summer

Gorgeous day though, eh? Feel like I've been on holiday! Hope everyone with these grisly winter colds (including LOs) get well soon. X

soontobefatnat · 25/03/2011 19:02

Oh, meant to ask - am still putting E down in his cot awake, but apart from a few times, he cries for between 5-15 mins before settling with me patting and shushing. Is this par for the course or do other babies go down without a peep? Just wondering what was 'normal', really.

Woodlands · 25/03/2011 22:24

Crikey I still feel like I've only just finished being pregnant - certainly not ready to go there again yet!

I now can put J down awake in his cot and he often burbles away to himself happily for 15 minutes or so but then falls asleep. He's only been doing that for 6 weeks or so, before then I had to actually put him to sleep. It has properly transformed our evenings since then, I love it! He just learnt how to do it by himself over time so I have no tips, I'm afraid.

bellygazing · 26/03/2011 10:20

Good luck in London, marchers! Hope it goes well.

WRT putting down awake, often E doesn't cry at all, but a couple of times a week she will cry for a little bit - usually less than 5 mins but we did have a couple of days maybe a week ago when she cried about 10 mins one night and 20 the next Sad. It seems to me to vary according to whether I catch her at the exact right level of tiredness, following on from if she's napped well, or napped later than usual.

woodlands I know what you mean re getting evenings back, it's just completely different, I can go out without worrying, or spend a few hours with my DH, and I no longer have to eat my dinner at 6pm!

bellygazing · 28/03/2011 11:45

Blimey, where did everybody go?

Chulita · 28/03/2011 14:13

bellygazing I must admit I'm on the July thread a lot more, we get through a thread a month there whereas this thread a bit more...relaxed. Easier to keep up with though :)

How did the marching go ladies?

We've just had an offer accepted on a house so now waiting for survey etc, all very exciting even though we won't be moving into it for years.

S is being a whinging pest today, hasn't slept properly and I'm paying for it!

OP posts:
marzipananimal · 28/03/2011 16:43

That's exciting chulita - we've just had an offer accepted on a house today too! We're renting at the mo so will be our first 'own' house if it all goes ahead.
Not been posting much as life has been fairly uneventful although J has his first tooth. My PILs were up for the weekend which was nice.

nat J still cries for 5-10 mins sometimes when I put him down although often he'll cry as I put him down but then roll straight over onto his tummy and go to sleep. I don't shush and pat though as it seems to wind him up more! I just leave him to it unless i think he might need calpol or something

ElusiveMoose · 28/03/2011 21:36

Hi all,

Sorry it's been such a hugely long time since I last posted - nearly two months, I think! Don't know what happened, really - well, I do, I just got really busy. S was ill for weeks in Feb/March (nothing serious, just a really persistent viral cold, plus tonsillitis, which meant he was permanently grumpy for ages and ages). Plus the voluntary work I do went nuts, so I was spending every evening doing that. Anyway, it all took its toll, and I just had no time. Then, to cap it all off, I got pneumonia about three weeks ago (probably because I was so knackered and run down) which brought on severe temporary asthma (I'm not asthmatic generally) and I ended up in hospital for three days.

Anyway, all is well now (though S now has another cold Angry), so I wanted to come and check in and let you know I haven't fallen off the face of the earth. I will try to check up on how everyone's doing occasionally, but I think this is probably a sort of goodbye - life is still really busy, and I'm trying to spend my free evenings having an early night rather than hanging around on the internet Grin.

I can't pretend to have read through everyone's news, but I have just seen that Caz is expecting again - congratulations, I'm so so thrilled for you, and so pleased to have come back to check the thread at the right time to hear your news. I wish only wonderful, wonderful things for you and your family.

I hope all other mums and babies are doing well too. S is doing fine when he's not ill - so interested in everything! He managed to stand up holding onto his cot bars for the first time yesterday, and he's looking like he really wants to be crawling, so I suspect this is my final few weeks of relative peace before he's on the move - the calm before the storm!!

Love to everyone, and I will try to pop back now and then.

xx

soontobefatnat · 28/03/2011 23:14

Elusive say it ain't so! I feel oddly sad that a few people have popped on here to say their goodbyes! I guess it's the realisation that the days of pregnancy/having a tiny baby are well and truly over! Anyhow, sorry to hear you and S have been poorly and glad you're on the mend now.

neez how was the march for you? Was totally lovely and peaceful for us. Well, until we turned off Whitehall into Traf Sq and this guy in a black hoodie, face mask, dark glasses and holding a crash helmet came up to me and said, 'You should get your kid out of here. There's going to be a riot.' Then strolled off. He reeked of booze. We saw him later near Fortnums, yelling a load of conspiracy theorist tosh about the TUC. He quite freaked me out though, and E was getting cross in his pram, so we peeled off at Green Park. I bet he was one of the wankers throwing stuff at The Ritz later on. It pisses me off - what right do people like that have to scare off genuine protesters with their own crazy, violent agendas? Angry

vix206 · 29/03/2011 14:56

Hey girls I'm still here too! Alex has been poorly with a coldand now we have it. Just in time for flying out to Cyprus tmrw! Our first proper holiday in 6 years! We will make the best of it, I can't take much as I'm still bfing!

Anyway, love to you all I'll catch up properly next week.

CherryPie3 · 29/03/2011 16:48

Hiya girls :)

What a lovely day, I've spent most of it in a dentist waiting room as they were running 90mins late! C needed 2 b/feeds whilst I was in there which the receptionist didn't approve of, not that I care because had they been running on time I could have been at home giving him his proper lunch! Ah well...

CazAndBelle - I am so thrilled for you, wishing a lovely uneventful but joyous pregnancy! Good for you for going into mothercare, I can imagine that being a huge step to take. Lots of love xxxx

neenz - how was the march? I hear you with 3yo naughtiness (I can also add 4yo, and 5yo, and 6yo to the naughty list!)

I haven't heard the Edgar story but it sounds simply dreadful :(. Ive hugged all my children extra tight today :(.

Not much doing here, C has 2 teeth which he like to sharpen on my nipples Angry . He is finally sitting unaided for longer than 3 seconds but still doesn't like rolling back to front yet. And definitely no signs of crawling!

And as for broodiness....mine has increased tenfold today as dh has been advised of a new medication that will make it dangerous for us to have more children - if I were to get pregnant it would end in mandatory abortion :(:(:(:(. He hasn't started it yet and won't be for some time but I don't think there's time to start talking about ttc. For the most part I feel as though the decision has been taken out of our hands now. And the bit that stings most is dh said just 3 nights ago that he has decided not to have a vasectomy. Typical.
The huge huge plus side is there's a 48% chance it will send his crohns and related rheumatoid arthritis both into remission :)! I'm focusing on hoping dh is in that 48% as there is only one other treatment he can have if this doesn't work.

Anyhow, I guess I'd better go start tea, much love to you all - hope everyone who is feeling I'll gets better soon! We are the hayfever house and we are all doses up on piriton and piriteze Grin xxx
