Sorry bit boring I know but I didn't want to make any reference to spot as I don't want to jinx her and have her baby come early, then it would be my fault. Also didn't want the mad rush at the end of the thread. This way we've had plenty of time.

JamInMyWellies · 03/12/2010 22:19

Crap meant NJAN not Invis.

Rubena · 03/12/2010 22:41

ooooooh interesting Jam. I'm liking that two tree idea for when ds kicks off into his tat lovely pre-school made deco days Grin

I'm on for Monday if the weather is ok, the kids and I are not sick, the night before goes ok, all the stars are aligned Grin was it confirmed that it wouldn't be rush hour? My friend is going tomorrow [nutter] so I'm going to get a full report.

It's total remote control-gate here. I'm trying to catch up on I'm a celeb Blush and dh needs to order more parts to make it work Hmm so he's running into the other room in the ads to ffwd it!

VagolaJahooli · 04/12/2010 08:21

DS2 must be teething again, up again at 3.45, 4.45 & 5.30. He also had very rosy cheeks last night. This little front one must be it surely. I do remember this last one being a bit of a slow burner for DS1.

Poor DS1 I just got a bit narky at him. I've been watching animal shows and kids TV from 5 am I put the news on and he started yabbering constantly. That child can talk for England, Australia and the Netherlands.

Omg DS2 has just done the most rank poo, I've sent him off to see his dad, he just ran to him shouting "poo, poo"

Oh and sorry your still feeling crap Jam. Maybe you should go to the GP.

Hello everyone,

sybil I've just emailed you re secret santa. Thanks so much for sorting it out.

Thanks for all your comments re my friends and their difficult situation. They are waiting for test results at the moment so they still don't know what to do. jam Your friend's situation sounds very hard indeed. Much love to her.

Urbane Lovely news for your Dsis but difficult for you.

spot Great news on the referral! Even if they say all is fine at least you have heard it from someone nice and qualified to tell you so.

trace Blimey, I hope the water has stopped coming in now. It might be pipes in your loft rather than the roof. Eek, hope you have it sorted now.

Re P's hearing. My younger brother had significant hearing loss when he was younger but it righted itself over time. Fingers crossed P has the same sort of problem.

Zoe I love the potato print idea! DD and I made saltdough tree decorations yesterday. We need to paint and varnish them yet but DD really enjoyed it.

Finally we have lots of snow! I gave DH his christmas present early - a proper wooden sledge with metal runners - and we've been pulling DD around on it all morning.

EffiePerine · 04/12/2010 15:30

Phew, caught up at last! Am heading into London on t'train with DH and no children - they have been left with MIL overnight. Predictably we are using this quality time to catch up on some reading rather than talking to each other Grin. Meeting friends and going to a play at the Barbican. Lovely.

Njan: I'm sorry you're having work travails. Nearly Christmas :).

Our tree is a mishmash, but this is due to my liking for colourful sparkly stuff rather than the DSs. When they get older they will probably demand classy decorations... will go have a peek at Rubes' tree now.

JamInMyWellies · 04/12/2010 20:30

Oi where are you all Strictly Xfactor??

Bought our tree today and of course the usual bought a tree too big had to hack half of it off. Couldnt get it in the car etc etc. Grin Will decorate it tom. Didnt win my 2 tree argument so all the boys handmade and awful shop bought tat will be on there.

Avoiding going to the GP's veg DH bought some miracle drugs for me called nuromel. COmbo of nurofen and ibuprofen. I can now open my mouth and eat and have had a look at the back of my throat rather revolting looking white ulcer hole type things.

So I had a quick peak at the WW thread is it just me pingu & Rubes. Lady are you coming. What time?

VagolaJahooli · 04/12/2010 20:32

Yawn. So tired. Wow so much snow today. It just kept snowing, snowing, snowing. It finally settled enough for us to get out to the kids Christmas party and they had a great time. Loved their presents from Santa and basically barreled around having a great time. DS2 is so into running and biffing with the big kids, he's a bit of a brute but they all seemed to be happy throwing themselves about and landing on top of each other. Thankfully no small children were harmed

Rubs you would have been happy we had a discussion at the party of the difficulties of balancing our own decorating needs with the children's at Christmas. Many of them had 2 trees.

Right better go watch some crap telly before I fall asleep.

Jam I think its ibuprofen and paracetamol. Glad its making you feel better.

SummerLightning · 04/12/2010 23:02

Jam aren't all Xmas decs shop bought or homemade? Hehe told dh we had to go to john lewis depot tomorrow to pick up my Xmas shopping as it included some new Xmas decs to go with our tree and he looked at me suspiciously and asked if they were all tasteful
and coordinating (implication being he suspected they were but he would prefer something garish)

EffiePerine · 05/12/2010 10:22

Quick post from me to say that if you get the chance to see Black Watch, go. Utterly brilliant.

LadyThompson · 05/12/2010 10:53

Jeepers, 'tis quiet on here! Speeding back to the country on a train and will do catch up later. Had a lovely lovely time but not as cultural as you, Effie Grin Am in a good mood. Haven't checked the WW thread but even though the thought of coming in again but with the smalls makes me weary, it's Christmas so I'm up for it if I won't be alone!! I need to check trains but can't realistically get there until lunchtime. More later.

VagolaJahooli · 05/12/2010 19:03

Evening ladies it has been quiet. Glad you had a nice weekend Lady, though must say I'm exhausted thinking of you taking the girls back on the train.

Lightening, "tasteful"??? Is he implying you might purchase nude angels and phallus shaped baubles for your tree?

Our tree is not fairing well, DS2 keeps driving large cars into the mid branches dukes of hazard yeehaa jump style. I've had to reapply the tinsel several times.

We had a lovely day today, DS2 was up at 5 as usual but less waking overnight. Then DS1 woke at 7 and the boys opened their Sinta Klaas presents. They loved the shared castle and also their horses heads on a stick to ride. They've been flying around the house. DS2 has copied DS1 with a little running gallop. We also left a load of lollies and Sinta Klaas style sweets for them but actually didn't show them that they were there until after their dinner tonight so they've been pigging out on those. I went back to bed for a couple of hours which was nice then this afternoon we all went to a great pool with slides for a swim. DS2 was beside himself with excitement as he wanted to show his daddy his swimming. He kept yelling at his father to look at him.

3 more sleeps until my mummy holiday in Antwerp. I'm still quite nervous about leaving DS2 esp with his teeth and sleeping. But DS1 has assured me they will be fine and that I need a holiday. Not sure if that translates to, 'mummy your too shouty, go away for a bit'.

Gosh tomorrow is the last day of my year as a 37 year old. Gosh I'm getting on. Oh well I prefer even years anyway, 38 just sounds better.

traceface · 05/12/2010 20:09

hi all,

just running on to say happy birthday to Vaggie for Tuesday, and hope the WW gang have much fun tomorrow Grin

LadyThompson · 05/12/2010 22:04

Yikes, I just can't catch up today! We went for lunch up the road when I got back and the rest of the time has been spent wrapping presents. Still have quite a few to wrap! Mind you, I keep having to break off. And also I like to put lots of nice trimmings on so I make a rod for me own back.

I have posted on the WW thread - but Rubes, Jam and Pingu, can you let me know if you are up for braving the cold or not? I am easy either way. I would normally be super keen (mulled wine/Christmassy stuff/Hyde Park is a v winning combo for me) but my reticence is only because of the journey after my knackering weekend, it is always a joy to see you girls. Hennyway, if you could tell me by 10am tomorrow at the latest (preferably tonight).

Ciao, bellas.

Rubena · 05/12/2010 22:12

Argh, knackered.
Shopping today and even got a midday nap in which was nice but still tired! Lady, Jam, Pings, have posted on WW thread too. Tomorrows not ideal for me due to cold / tired and busy week ahead, but will go if everyone's super keen too (tonight with littles going well of course)
Hope you had a lovely day today Jam x

LadyThompson · 05/12/2010 22:16

Yes, Jam is probably doing something else tonight! I don't know what has happened to me, I am incapable of making a decision tonight. A surfeit of cheerfulness on Fri and Sat nights has melted my bonce.

VagolaJahooli · 06/12/2010 04:27

Morning all have been up for half an hour watching the news. DS2 has finally got jack of hearing about the various disasters and the wikileaks fiasco so has insisted on watching diego in dutch. Might try to close my eyes for a bit. Oh my goodness a singing camera, this show is bizarre.

OP posts:
SummerLightning · 06/12/2010 08:51

Oh bugger vag 4am??? Is that 3am in Netherlands? That is shit! Lots and lots of coffee.
I bought ds this personalized Thomas book and gave it to him mow before Xmas as has a Christmas theme so thought it would get him in the mood! He won't let go of it! And I'm not allowed to read it! Only daddy and even then even if he's feeling generous!
Veggie when is it you are going away?

SummerLightning · 06/12/2010 08:52

Oh our Xmas tree is up but not fully decorated yet. Our lights had broken so we got some emergency new ones from tesco but don't really like them. So may get new ones. It's massive though. Looks good!

SummerLightning · 06/12/2010 09:28

Sorry realised I am putting far too many exclamation marks in my
posts. And they are quite boring.

Beans33 · 06/12/2010 09:45

Our tree up and decorated it late last night so Izzy had a lovely treat on her birthday morning. She loves it!
Can't be long as off to Croydon to pick up her Xmas present! The joys of Playmobil. It's out of stock everywhere.
Izz has taken to sleeping til 8.30 every morning. Marvellous!
We had her bday yesterday. Drop scones for tea and presents. Today she's got some friends for tea. Have made a chocolate cake. Yay!

waitinggirl · 06/12/2010 12:40

indith - just seen your fb post. what's happened? to the rest of you who aren't on fb, i don't think it is anything catastrophic, but a fb contretemps, from the sound of it.

JamInMyWellies · 06/12/2010 13:10

Happy Birthday Whizzer!

DeidreBarlow · 06/12/2010 13:11

vag That is a seriously ungodly hour! I hope you have managed to get a nap at some point.

beans happy birthday to Whizz! And a happy birthday toany other LO's I've missed.

Tree is now up..yay! I have been shopping this morning and added some gold baubles so I am now red/silver/gold. As is everything else, except the outside lights which are blue /white. Looking good and very
Christmassy even if I do say so myselfSmile

Can I just share what a trooper my sis is? My BIL is in the Navy and returns home this Friday after an 8.5 month deployment. So sis has been home alone for most of that with her 3 boys, as she is in Plymouth and we are up North. Honestly don't think I could do it. I get stressed if DH does 2 late finishes at work. I'm just so happy she is on the home straight now.
