pssstt, Fenouille, can you e-mail me? Will be in your neck of the woods next weekend, wondered if you fancied a trip to the Jardin des Plantes or sth.

Jenni363 · 20/02/2011 20:23

Smokey Sorry to hear about your brother, sending some positive thoughts. My dad also had cancer but luckily he has recovered from it.

Freya will be 3 months in two days! Yikes, it has gone so quick! She now weighs 6.1kgs and is lovely and chubby. I think she will soon roll, at least she seems to be trying hard when she's on her baby gym.

She will get her second round of jabs on Wednesday... I am so dreading it! She cried so much last time it broke my heart Sad.

I am also so Envy of those babies sleeping through!! F feeds usually twice a night, around 1 and again 4 - but she sleeps soundly from 7pm till around 6.30 so should not complain.

Hope you are all doing well, I will try to catch up on this thread later... In the meanwhile if any of you would like to add me on FB my name is Jenni Suorsa (think there is only one other person with the same name...) and in the pic is me, a blonde girl holding a baby.

bunnygirl80 · 20/02/2011 22:06

Sad for all the babies getting more jabs. We're not due any till four months over here so William's got another 3 weeks until his.

Sleep seems to be slowly improving here - daytime naps are back under control and nighttimes are better. He's back to feeding every 3-4hours at night, instead of just once between 7pm and 7am, but sleeping soundly the rest of the time.

We took Will to his first wedding yesterday. It was a full on Indian wedding with lots of yummy spicy curry for the meal. The only problem is that spicy curry and BFing baby appears to equal a gigantic poo explosion at 5am Grin Managed to get the nappy changed without waking Will until I was just zipping up his sleeping bag and a second even bigger explosion occurred. By the time I'd changed that nappy he was wide awake and wondering what on earth was going on Smile

glad i don't like curry!

DS has started to move about in his crib at night and instead of doing 9-10 hour sleeps he has started to wake himself up.

Has anyone here tried sleep wrap positioners where you strap them to the mattress? theory sounds good, just wondering if they work as well as they sound?!!

Lainey1981 · 22/02/2011 09:31

Nearly lost the thread it has been that quiet- we almost ended up on page 2 Shock

Hope all jabs went ok. finn was booked in for his 12 week jabs yesterday but when we got there we were told to go home as he wasn't allowed them til today. Even though he was 12 weeks exactly yesterday Hmm i was not amused. So now we have to go back next week.

Have been a busy bee in the last week trying to sort out the move, and am pleased to report that we finally have somewhere to live.
It's a massive flat in a georgian building with loads of features but modern decor. V excited, but a big sad about leaving my friends in London.

Have my first night out booked for saturday night, will be very strange to be babyless for the night. Dp has promised to look after F til noon in case i have a hangover. Bliss

Lainey1981 · 22/02/2011 09:32

rinny and 4mad cute pics on fb from your meetup

hmmSleep · 22/02/2011 12:55

Thankfully Lottie back to normal after her nap marathon. Lainey, that seems mad about the jabs, I guess they have to cover their back though.

Curry has the same effect on Lottie bunny, but must admit I still eat it as I love curry!

Must admit I'm totally confused as to who's who on fb now Blush, I have to keep cross referencing to figure it out. Guess I can't get away with blaming baby brain on here!

I've just listed a load of Lottie's 0-3 month clothes on ebay, not sure it's worth the effort but makes me feel less guilty when buying new stuff.

Half term at the moment so off to entertain the masses in this crappy weather.

Hope everyone is well Smile.

Rinnyx · 22/02/2011 15:35

Jenni363 added you on FB

hmmSleep I have stuck all my MN friends on FB into a list of their own, makes it abit easier

Oh I am still alive BTW just tend to still mostly surf the net via my phone.
Isaac is 3 and half months today, scary.
We got him a door bouncer Saturday, he was abit Hmm at first but now loves it plus it gives me abit of hands free for a while.

DP has to take Isaac for his 3rd lot of jabs 2 weeks from tomorrow, mawhaha as I have a 2 hour driving lesson, serves him right as I have had to do the other 2 on my own Grin

Jenni363 · 22/02/2011 18:16

I was trying to create a list for my MN friends on FB but I seem to have created a group accidentally Hmm. So those that are my FB friends now - you might have received a notification that I have added you to a group.

Should not be to hard to figure out which one is me as... ta daa Jenni is my real name and I wasn't clever enough to come up with some witty MN name when I joined!

Was going to ask if any of you use Maxicosy (or similar) with your pram instead of carry cot? I've used it few days now and seems that F prefers it as she can see what is happening rather than lying flat at the bottom of the carry cot..

But a nursery advisor in John Lewis mentioned that babies should be lying on their back rather than be sitting on the car seat on daily basis.

Freya is 3 months today Smile and we celebrated by getting up for a feed 4 times in 6 hours last night, and getting the second lot of jabs tomorrow Sad

SGJ · 22/02/2011 21:36

Hi all, long time no post, but I've been pretty mug following what's been said!

Jenni - I think as a rough guide, as long as they're not in their car seat for more than 2 or 3 hours it doesn't do them any harm, and the older they get the less happy they'll be just lying there passively!

Lainey - brilliant news about the flat (am trying to guess whereabouts - did you find something in the Lexden area after all?) - hope the move goes smoothly!

All good here - Jessica is now 12lb 10 at 11 weeks and was sleeping for 9 straight hours a night, but that was while she was battling a stinking cold... now she's over it she's doing 8pm - 2am, then feed and through until about 6am. Not too bad I suppose, plus we're transitioning her in to her cot in her own room so she's bound to be a bit unsettled. At least we know she can sleep through!

Just won a Lamaze spinning tummy time thing on eBay to try and entice her to spend more time on her front as she currently hates it! I think all babies have their own area of development where they don't go by the book and this is hers!

SGJ · 22/02/2011 21:40

Pretty mug?!? Pretty much, thank you iPhone! Jumping on the FB bandwagon - am Shelley Gwyn-Jones if anyone wants to see hundreds of photos of Jessica!

bunnygirl80 · 22/02/2011 23:39

jenni I switched Will to the buggy seat on his pram as he hated not being able to see out of the carry cot. I just make sure he doesn't spend more than a couple of hours at a time in it.

hmm I've eaten plenty of homecooked spicy food since I had Will with no effect so it came as a bit of a shock when he exploded Smile

Not much to report from us. Have been trying to encourage Will to roll from back to front - he's soooooo close to doing it himself, he get's three quarters of the way over then gets stranded so I'm hoping some intensive training will get him rolling within the week. He's also started commando crawling along on his tummy to get toys that are just out of reach. It's quite funny to watch cos it requires an immense amount of effort from him to move about 2cm Grin

Lainey1981 · 23/02/2011 08:29

Hisgj have added you on fb ( elaine atkins)
Yes v excited about the move. The flat is in dutch quarter but not in one of the dutch style houses. We move on 4th march. Thank goodness dps company are paying for movers to help. Must start packing!

I am going to look up that tummy time thing as Finn is not the best and ends up face down eating the playmat lol. Obviously no upper body strength like his mum yet

Lainey1981 · 23/02/2011 09:51

Just came back on for a moan. My hair is falling out at an alarming rate it's getting everywhere. I wouldn't mind but it's pretty thin anyway. Don't want to end up bald.
Can't remeber who else mentioned this the other week - when will it end?

Rinnyx · 23/02/2011 10:43

Added you SGJ I'm Diana Searle

God what a awful day today, like winter with yucky rain, was planning to go for a walk and to hobbycraft but looks like a day stuck in watching rubbish TV Hmm

Fenouille · 23/02/2011 11:52

Hi SGJ I've just added you too.

Norry's just spent the morning with the CM for the first time. Got off to a bad start as when got there I found that one of the pots of milk had come open en route so all that pumping was in vain grr and half the milk for the morning was gone, double grr. Didn't matter in the end as he didn't drink very much in the end anyway. I think he was too busy looking at what was going on. He seemed to enjoy himself though which is the main thing, didn't cry once apparently.

I had a bit of a snooze while he was gone (although my cats tried to sabotage it) and now we're back home and he's zonked out on me (and one of the cats had just thrown up extravagantly somewhere - did sound like it might be on the tiles though, for a change).

Shock at the poo explosions. I eat loads of curry and I hope Norry never gets the idea to react in that way!

SGJ · 23/02/2011 12:32

I've added everyone, now just need to cross reference! eBay Lamaze spinner arrived just now & it's a total success! Will try to add photos somewhere, at some point....

hmmSleep · 23/02/2011 17:17

Lainey, it was me with the falling out hair, it's happened all three times with me but does grow back, honest! Although last time I got a rather unflattering fringe cut in an attempt to cover up the regrowth.

Jenni363 · 23/02/2011 18:14

SGJ have just added you too (Jenni Suorsa)

hmmSleep · 24/02/2011 14:18

Is anybody else's baby suffering from eczema? Lottie has suddenly developed really nasty dry red inflamed skin on her belly and cheeks. I can't think that I've changed anything to make it flare up so suddenly. Have decided to stop bathing her every night and have been piling on the aveeno but no improvement yet. I have very sensitive skin myself so I guess along with being a red head she was bound to have delicate skin Sad. Any tips anyone?

Paymeoffplease · 24/02/2011 14:47

hmm how strange i was just going to post the same thing re Finn and his skin. He has what i assume is eczema on his cheeks and elbow. It's really flared up iin the last 2 weeks. Have been using aqueous cream and sudocrem which are helping, but I keep forgetting!
I too have really painful dry skin on my face at the mo so wondering if it could be the weather?

Finn also STILL has a cough and cold, a wee bit of cradle cap, a worringly flat spot on his headShock Oh sh1t i'm a terrible mother Blush

Trying to get the motivation to start packing, but it just feels impossible with a baby. Plus we've constantly got people viewing this flat so trying to keep the place tidy and mask my slatternly ways is a nightmare.

'sgj' i am sold on the lamaze, currently bidding on one. Looks to be a good way to fix finn's flat head encourage him to be on his tummy and get stronger

Lainey1981 · 24/02/2011 14:50

Pesky name xhange post above was me.

Rinnyx · 24/02/2011 14:56

hmm you are not alone.
Isaac has had it for about a month now just on his cheeks and near/around his ears, poor little mite rubs it all the time os it gets all weepy and crusty.
I was told to stop using E45 as it makes it worse and was given a lotion to stick in the bath and now also a medicine I have to put in his milk 4 times aday to treat it formthe inside.
Hopefully Isaac and Lottie oh and Finn (just saw your post pay will grow out of it like my DD did

But best see the dr and get them to give you a cream, he has one with a steroid in it x

Hello everyone! Long time no post! I kind of dropped off mn for a couple of months after DS was born, then I came back but I couldn't find this thread - then I had the genius idea of searching for it and so here I am! Very excited to have found you all again.

DS is 14 weeks now and he is completely brilliant and lovely, although I must say I wouldn't mind if he started sleeping more than 2 hrs at a time. Anyone else got a bad sleeper?

Right, I'm off to catch up on 3 months of posts...
