We've gone for dinner a few times with A - she mainly sleeps altho rather uncannily always seems to need a feed the moment my meal arrives Hmm.

I met a friend in Pizza Express last night with my two and her toddler - everyone behaved themselves but the pure logistics of getting the buggies and babies in, up the steps and out again afterwards was a mare!

Would rather be in Prague! [ENVY]

mlic think you're making the right call on the milk, weaning and the GA. Mother's instinct rules Grin

CakeandRoses · 17/11/2010 23:24

Great news about the early xmas present tsc! Soooo annoying about your old one tho.

Any progress with bedtime?

Haven't started weaning A yet either. She's v close in age to Frankie, she was born 27th so we'll prob start weaning end of January.

WhatSheSaid · 17/11/2010 23:27

Woodlands Prague is lovely, you lucky thing

Tsc I haven't weaned dd2 yet, she was born 9/7 so is getting on for 5 months. I did try her on a couple of spoons of pear last week, she kind of ate it but she really wasn't that bothered so I'll leave it a bit longer, she seems happy just with milk. I tried because it possibly helps with reflux but it didnt really seem to make a difference - think she's growing out of it anyway.

Also, I can't really be arsed with all the pureeing/preparing/cleaning up etc before I actually have to. She seems happy enough at mo.

stac14 · 17/11/2010 23:40

i weaned due to reflux tsc and it has helped r, not making her sleep right through though. Fab news about the washing machine but can understand why you are mad your dad had to help. Have you tried trading standards for advice? You probs have

mlic, chulita, tsc and other mother of toddlers what presents are you thinking of for dc2?

Need more ideas for presents for Aurelia's xmas list for family - I'm struggling as we have so many of F's old toys etc. I'm sure there's things that I'll see afterwards and kick myself for not putting on her list!

I've just put this on her list: www.amazon.co.uk/Galt-6850004-Farm-Playnest/dp/B000296KW6/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby&ie=UTF8&qid=1290069182&sr=1-1

altho I usually avoid bright, bulky things like this, it's v well rated and i think might be a sanity saver this time round when i'll need to dump her somewhere while i see to F!

Oh and mlic, i put the sleep clock on felix's list - looks brill!

Spirael · 18/11/2010 09:14

We have this one for M, Cake. :) She's just starting to use it now, as it gives her enough support to sit and somewhere for her legs to go. The 'shelf' is removable.

CakeandRoses · 18/11/2010 09:23

that looks good, spirael is it easy to blow up and deflate again?

congrats on the 4 hours mlic Smile

Spirael · 18/11/2010 09:30

It was easy to blow up, but I've never deflated it... It just lives on my living room floor. Blush It's the same valve as a lilo or inflatable bed, so shouldn't be hard to deflate.

The tube is separate from the outside 'skin' so any punctures should be relatively easy to fix too, though it seems pretty tough and hasn't deflated any in a month so far!

CakeandRoses · 18/11/2010 09:39

stac that is terrible re the loan - have just posted on your aibu thread

DesperateHousewife21 · 18/11/2010 10:14

Morning everyone,

Ive just bought 2 bras from figleaves, really looking forward to them coming I hate the nursing bras that shops offer, they're so HORRID!

Also if you order on figleaves they offer £15 cashback on your next purchase so Ive done 2 separate ones to get the £15.

Ive got baby massage today, then another baby group straight after.

I really need to start a bedtime routine, Dylan slept all eve til 10ish then wanted to be up and playing so I had to feed him in bed lying down as I was so tired.
What is the best routine that people had the most success with at bedtime?
I know it'll be different for every baby but I need some ideas!

stac14 · 18/11/2010 10:38

thanks cakes

I have asked people for bigger clothes for rileigh as she is quickly growing out of everything. A friend of ours is passing on toys that are practically new so dont want loads of toys.

dh i just try not to let rileigh sleep from about 7ish then she goes down at ten, she is waking up at 3ish then 6/7ish managed to make her wait to 4.30 last night but she seems starving

I got free samples from hipp organic today, it has a sleepy milk anyone used this? Does it not mess about with lo's tum using 2 different milks? Or is this to be used when you move to follow on milk? Sorry for loads of questions x

i didnt think they should be mixed. I suppose if your using hipp you could use it. I would pass it on but its only enough for 1 bottle unless anyone wants it?

Bedtime routine here is dinner 6pm-6:30pm, bath at 6:45pm-7pm, cuddle and BF in dark, quiet room 7:15pm-7:30pm. M normally starts drifting during the feed, then DH carefully puts her into the cot while dozy. He hums her a song or two then leaves and she tends to fall asleep.

Last couple of weeks we've had to go and shhpat or PUPD every so often during the evening, but the number of times she's fussed has been steadily decreasing and last night she went staight down and was still asleep when DH went to get her at 7:15am. Confused

(However, she hasn't napped yet today... Hmm)

For Christmas M is getting (shh) an... Abacus. Wink DH is an accountant and wants to start early on teaching her numbers. Grin

Busy here today, been doing a ton of baking over the last couple of days for DH's work, who wanted things to sell for a Children in Need bake sale. It was either that or DH had to get his legs waxed for the charity... Shock Grin I'm a nice DW.

Chulita · 18/11/2010 12:39

tsc we've not started either, S is 24/7 (lol, he is that and all!). Going to hold out til 6 months-ish cos he's not a big eater and I've got no hopes of him sleeping through, full belly or not!

cakes we have that farm ring thing from DD, she still likes to climb in them if there's one at a toddler group so I don't know how S will ever get a look in. don't know where it is at the mo either... Tbh I'm not going to ask for anything for S cos A) he's too young to care B) we've got everything from L and C) there's too much clutter in this house already. If people really want to give something I'll find something but he just doesn't need anything!

stac don't know anything about milks, sorry! Hope you get that loan back, some of my family I just don't lend to cos I know I'll never see it again.

mlic last jabs for a while though :)

dh which bras did you go for [nosy] I need to get a couple more. Bedtime routine for us is 5.50ish change into bedtime nappy, into grobag, cuddle/feed and in bed once he's had enough. Nothing too strict though cos he's only little Grin

has to be tough tsc. dont know how your head isn't gone...
dh we dont really have a routine as such as we only bath her every other night but whenever her last bottle is going to be, we just change nappy, wash down/bath then grobag and bottle and straight down. although the last 2 nights she has fell asleep half way through the bottle and woke up 20 mins later for the rest and wanting to play cos she's refreshed after her nap! good deal on the bras!
we're getting ellie a new stroller for christmas. she'll prob be out of the travel system car seat by 6 months so we'l get a good comfy stroller that folds down pretty small. any family on my side that has asked what to get her i've just said they can give whatever money they want and we'l put it all together to buy her new car seat. by doing that we can get a real good comfy one compared to what we would have been able to afford and is far more beneficial to her than loads of toys that she'll never play with. i got her a dressing gown with her name embroidered on it too! and il prob pick up a book or 2
