Hello ladies, hope no one minds me taking the liberty of creating a new thread and approves of the name choice. We've been moving a bit slower than antenatal so though we'd most certainly have some year-olds by the time we finished this one!

fruit oh poor babies Sad i don't feel good when mine are unwell, so helpless, it must also be hard not being able to work, you are self employed aren't you so no company pay to take the strain.

scarlotti shhhhhh don't say It! good luck for tonight !

It seems the spots are nothing much, no more appearing since this afternoon. He has a snotty nose, green, and slightly red eyes. That is the biggest sign of being unwell, not eating his food, and there is no change in that Grin.

PavlovtheCat · 19/01/2011 20:20

Sorry ursi x-posts with you! How long is your DH away for? do you have people around to help if your sickness increases? I remember when I found out i was pg with Roo. I was being sick from it felt the moment I concieved! It was most certainly no more than 2 weeks from conception, probably more like 10 days! Right through to 10 days late Shock cheeky boy! I hope it does not become too horrid for you x

scarlotti · 19/01/2011 20:24

Ursi fingers crossed the nausea doesn't get too bad, the good thing with 2nd pregnancies (and more!) is that you're too busy running around after the others to think too much about symptoms!

Fruitpastels · 19/01/2011 20:34

Thank you ladies. Ursi It's even harder to cope with poorly babes when pregnant. You have every right to complain Smile. My DH is away this week which isn't the best time to be on a training course. I'm thankful to my MIL who helps me out a lot.

scarlotti SmileWink I won't say anymore. Well done on all your efforts for fundraising. Remember to post your link here at some point. When is the trek? Are you training?

Pav Sorry I missed Roo being ill. Poor thing Sad Wishing him better. Yes,no sick pay for me. I've been so lucky with DS1 being very resilient when it comes to illness. I don't remember the last time he felt like this. But DS2 is a different matter and seems to catch everything going. I've got to the stage where I won't take him to toddler groups. My MIL looks after him when I need to take my mindee to a group. Until he's walking and the spring arrives (hopefully germs go away!) I can return to more social activities with him.

PavlovtheCat · 19/01/2011 20:36

fruit oh no Roo is not really ill, just threatening it! not like your boys.

Fruitpastels · 19/01/2011 20:39

Pav I was no way as bad as you on the MS front, but I had 20 weeks of it and lost a ton of weight. It was hell. Very dark days indeed. That's one thing that stops me getting too broody again. I had MS with both pg's, I know it would get me again!

PavlovtheCat · 19/01/2011 20:44

fruit same for me. I cannot even bear the thought of it, the memory has not passed that much! In fact, DH bought some of that flavoured spring water stuff, can't remember the name of it, and he bought Lemon. I took a swigged and almost gagged as it hit my sick senses! When pg with Roo I drunk lemon barley water all the way through until about 30 weeks perhaps, all i could hold down if it was sipped, over water and food. Then, when I got acid indigestion i started throwing that up!!! And the taste just took me right back to that place!
And, besides, I am perfectly happy with two. It is a wonderful number, the children absolutely adore each other. Absolutely. DS hangs on every word and action from DD and she the same with his noises and actions. Don't want to change that!

Fruitpastels · 19/01/2011 20:53

pav I feel just the same about my DS' relationship. Also, I would like my sleep back and my social life with DH. DC3 would put a hold on all of that. If I were a few years younger then maybe. But it's funny how many times I have been asked when I'm having my next one!

Fruitpastels · 19/01/2011 20:58

I have just polished off my second malteaster chocolate bunny! They are divine Grin

PavlovtheCat · 19/01/2011 21:28

Shock two?

They sound delish!

off to bed now, night night all, here are positive sleepy happy calm vibes to all our babies on the November thread, and get well to those who are poorly, and their brothers/sisters too x

scarlotti · 19/01/2011 21:32

Fruit Fundraising page with a fetching pic of me too!!
It's not that long now, 66 days I think so time is ticking away. Have raised £2200 and have another £1300 to go so am well on the way. Training isn't going so well as motivation is always my weakness, however I have now started properly and hopefully will keep it up. Deadlines always shift me into action!
A friend and I now walk around the park at lunchtime (1 mile) so that will be a help, plus I need to start going up and down the stairs at work as the trek has a hideous amount of steps - one day is something like 1000 steps Shock

DontWorryBaby · 19/01/2011 21:57

My haven't you lot been busy this evening!

ursi just remember to snack often. Tea biscuits in your handbag, and Ginger beer helped me!

fruit hope your boys are well soon.

Sending happy sleepy vibes to scarlotti and pav.

Been swimming tonight. Feel so relaxed. Unfortunately DH took the opportunity to have an early night so I need to take the dog out for his last walk... Sigh!

Taking part in the book club this month for the first time and tomorrow is the webchat with the author. The book was good, quite clever but not enjoyable, perhaps a bit too honest about human nature if that makes sense. Enjoying finding out how the bookclub works though, hoping to be a regular participant if I can find the time!

katster37 · 20/01/2011 10:28

Hi all, just popping on v quickly, been totally manic with moving/unpacking /trying to get new midwife madness and feeling pretty wiped out but will catch up with everybody asap.

tigger32 · 20/01/2011 11:42

Wow so much to catch up with!

Fingers crossed all the babies will start to sleep better very soon.
Very oddly H has now slept through for 10 nights and had no breast milk for 7 days!! Grin I 'm still not holding my breath though. Hmm and I actually feel more tired than I did when we were up several times a night.

Kaster Have you moved far? How have you found the move? (sorry not bring nosy it's just we're moving too and wondered what to expect?)

PavlovtheCat · 20/01/2011 13:57

sleeping baby? GAH.

is it sleep time yet?

MsInterpret · 20/01/2011 14:56

Hope the move went well katster. We moved to Oxford when I was about 36wks with Rosa so I can empathise!

Laugs and I took part in bookclub a few months ago when it was Brooklyn by Colm Toibin and it was great. Hope this one's good and I'll maybe see you there soon. I am engrossed in Fingersmith by Sarah Waters at the moment. I read The Little Stranger by her a while back and loved that too.

Not mentioning the s word.... (yawn)

tigger Shock fab sg! (can't say it!) have you stopped breastfeeding completely, or at night only? if you have stopped completely has that made a huge difference to the [shhhhh!]. Roo is starting to drink much less milk, he often does not have any in the afternoon any more, if he is sleepy/sat on me he will demand it, but if we are out and about he will happily have a snack instead. Same for bedtime, he drinks but for comfort I think...

Last night. Hor Rend Ous. But in the poor little lamb's defence he is teething I think, but not ready to burst the skin, he has snot, and looks terrible still, off his food now, will only eat yogurt and ready brek so guess that is why. Did not help me get to work and get through the morning knowing that though and had a crabapple this afternoon!

katster hope you are settling in to your new home well x
scarlotti hope you are doing ok
everyone who has not posted but might be lurking, hope you are doing well, thinking of all our ladies, regular posters now or not.

DontWorryBaby · 20/01/2011 20:25

You guys need to stop with the asterisks!! I'm seeing shagging/shitting before I see the actual s**ing word and they're so out of context! Grin

skorpion · 21/01/2011 09:18

Good Morning!

Just dropping in to say hi before I go and catch up on the last couple of pages.

Katster well done on the move, hope you get time to relax and enjoy the rest of the pregnancy.

Tigger that's great! Am very envious, please send some sleeping vibes our way.

Week without DH is coming to an end, am shattered, sleep still patchy. Yaaawwwnnn..... How do you do it with more than one???

Before I go, something to make you chuckle, well, made me chuckle, but have strange sense of humour: local paper headlined with a story of an outraged mother who bought a cuddly talking toy for her 4mo daughter, pull the string and the toy sings 'if you happy and you know it f**k with me'. Now there's a revenge of a disgruntled employee! Grin

DontWorryBaby · 21/01/2011 11:04

skorpion - We have the very same toy! It's the leappad/leapfrog bear, our's is Scout. It says "Clap with me" in an American accent, I think, but the first time we heard it DH & I looked at each other with raised eyebrows! Which paper is the article in? DH would love to see it!

DontWorryBaby · 21/01/2011 11:08

Just googled and found it here. I'll have to email this to DH. It's bark with me that it should be saying. It's one of those toys you plug into the computer and personalise and we chose Ethan?s favourite animal as a dog, so it might only say it if that?s your selection. So funny that it?s made the news! Grin

skorpion · 21/01/2011 12:35

Ours is this one. I suppose what amused me most is the 'outrage' Grin
But then the ever-present outrage in our day to day life amuses me generally. Can't wait for DH to see it either.

DontWorryBaby · 21/01/2011 12:41

Haha, "Mother's shock at swearing toy", that's priceless! Smile

tigger32 · 21/01/2011 15:18

He he scorpion that's so funny!

Pav I have stopped breast feeding altogether, I made myself a plan as follows

Stopped all day time breast feeds and give bottles of cows milk instead.
After a week
Stop last thing at night breastfeed and replace with bottle of cows milk.
After only 2 nights of this he naturally stopped waking for feeds in night (except last night when he woke at 11pm).
After another 2 days he decided he longer wanted b/m in the morning and instead has a big breakfast and cup of cowsmilk.
My next step is to swap bottles for cups in the day and reduce the amount of milk he has.
I thought I feel sad about not bf anymore but I don't really as I was ready to give up.
I hope this helps a bit and good luck if you decide to stop! Fingers crossed you get some s soon.

On a different note last night we sold our house and bought a new one! We are very excited.

MsInterpret · 21/01/2011 18:16

Hey tigger - good news about the house! Are you moving far?

I like your stopping bfing plan. Very structured! On the advice note (kind of) does anyone have any teeth-brushing tips? Rosa will put the brush in and doesn't seem to mind the taste but gets very cross if we brush her teeth for her. Since she is cross either way we've been trying to do it after last bottle at bedtime but that just makes bedtime stressful. I'm going to the dentist on Monday so I'll ask then too but wondered if you ladies have any good ideas too...

Happy birthday to DWB!
