QoD sorry to hear you are all grotty snotty. Hope things improve for the big celebrations tomorrow Smile

hotterpotter · 15/09/2010 18:52

Hello Smile Just waiting for cbeebies to be over so we can put the DC to bed and collapse in a heap. Sadly the fact that I saw two magpies on Monday and picked up a lucky penny didn't mean I won the lottery last night Sad so have to go to work again tomorrow, and working Monday next week so only have a rubbish normal weekend to look forward to Shock Only thing keeping me going is the prospect of our rescheduled northern summer meetup on Tuesday Grin

Queenie hope you all feel well enough to enjoy mucho cake tomorrow Smile

dizzydixies · 15/09/2010 19:06

we forgot to do L's tooth fairy Blush bad bad bad parents Sad E saved the day by telling her the bag must have been too tight for the TF to get into it and we are going to try again tonight Blush thank feck for big sisters [proud]

all day in kitchen, then Dr appt, then cash and carry and will be back in kitchen tonight as orders on the go

a few things in the pipeline but all too soon to start writing it down in case I jinx it Grin

oh dizz, poor little L!

crisp sleep is for the weak Grin But saying that, its amazing how different she is at sleeping compared to DS!

loti i did DS's yesterday! dh has been dressing him the last week or so and it has highlighted that there are an awful lot of clothes that don't fit him..doesn't stop DH putting him in them though!
Biscuit re you looking after sil's DS! i just hope she's grateful!!

spring that'll be great if you get a chance, thank you!

my friend who had a son on the same day Pea was born has sent me a lovely little outfit for Pea. i've only managed to get her a card so far Blush that i haven't even got in the post yet! she's ultra organised normally but she has astounded me this time! sooo, i need a very quick, easy to make idea for her son...any ideas? hmm, maybe a tooth pillow or is that silly given that he's a newborn? thinking and typing here, i think i'd prefer to save that for a future idea for a present for him. His name is long so cubes are out! Hmm, actually i've got some nice red fleece... I could make a blanket and stitch his name onto it... corny to have a personalised blanket or lovely? I'm pretty sure i wouldn't use a blanket with Pea's name on it...or maybe i would? argh i need your help oh wise hairy truckers!!!

tweakers · 15/09/2010 20:18

qod hope you're all feeling better soon

and a hello to oops and hots Grin

cyteen · 15/09/2010 20:49

tweaks for my friend's twin boys I got steaknife to make them each a fleece blanket with their initial appliqued on. My friend absolutely loved them, also they were huge blankets so will last for ages as snugglers/pram warmers/bed blankets/picnic blankets etc.

I bet your friend was so organised because she got a thrill out of shopping for girl's clothes Grin I can't help browsing wistfully among the gorgeous little dresses and coats every time I go to John Lewis.

tweakers · 15/09/2010 20:56

ooh, initials are a fab idea! and will be even quicker than doing his whole name! thanks cyteen!

what makes it even more impressive is that she was only out of hospital last friday! actually, she must have sent her DH out shopping..surely?!!

TwilightSurfer · 15/09/2010 22:42

Tweakers Both my girls were giving blankets with their name stitched on one corner. Both were/are quite used.Wink Are you sure the "organized" gift isn't a "regift" type thing. Not that that is a bad thing (please don't take that wrong) but you said she had a boy and you had a girl...could she have picked up a girl outfit during the "gender unknown" stage or been given a girl gift so she had it on hand...you get what I'm saying. Her gift may just be thoughtful lucky thing instead of a product of extreme organization. I do things like that so that's the only reason I'm mentioning it. I still have a few items for the girls I never used in the top of my closet...do you want a car seat blanket?Grin See...I'm sure there's more if I dug to the back of the closet. I'm sure she doesn't want you to feel stressed with the reciprocation factor. Relax. She's a lovely friend and will be happy with a box of brownies order from a lovely shop North of you.WinkWink

If you can make heads or tails of this you are a good reader. My head is hurting and making things a bit blurry. I guess that means I've got another migraine. GEEEZZZZ!! UG!!!

OP posts:
tweakers · 15/09/2010 22:48

oh i'm the queen of regifting Wink
i just fancied making her DS something but time's somewhat limited at the moment!

TS you just gave me the idea of checking the receipt... it was bought on the 3rd of Sept!!! so before our babies arrived! She knew Pea was going to be a girl but she didn't find out hers was a boy until he arrived and therefore, i've been absolved of all guilt Grin thank you!!
i'm going to post her card tomorrow with a little note that pressie will follow

tweakers · 15/09/2010 22:50

i have a beautiful yet slightly smelly little girl here who needs a clean nappy and to be tucked up into bed (once she's had a bit more milk in her little tummy)

night all

dizzydixies · 15/09/2010 23:38

tweaks - all of mine have their own personalised blankets Smile and I've given some as presents previously - infact I think I remember recommending the site to Oops
