luckoftheirish · 11/09/2010 07:49

Thanks oops, trying the big tescos today!! had been avoiding it as it is toy heaven for the dds and never come out empty handed Hmm but needs must Grin

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/09/2010 07:51

Hello tweakers, lovely that you know when Pea was conceived Smile. Despite holidays around the time when both of ours were, they were both at home

Tips for keeping awake:

Strip her off (always felt this was rather cruel in the middle of the night, especially for DD1 born in Nov )
Tickle her (preferably unclad) toes whilst feeding
Tickle her hands, so she squeezes your finger
And finally, the one which worked for DD1 was to mop her brow with a cold cloth. Yes seriously, it sounds rather Princess like but did work! In the night, i had a LeCreuset small lidded pot with 2 pieces of damp kitchen roll (pref Bounty as this does not disintegrate) folded into a strip. The pot keeps them cold and you can rotate on the forehead, place back in the pot and use again.

LOTI I agree with supermarkets (Sainsbos has them) and you could try M&S?

Morning oops, hope you get a chance to rest today

TS glad you had a better day yesterday, and yes to pics of cakes please

hotterpotter · 11/09/2010 07:52

5.20am here, thanks Thor Hmm tried to get him back to sleep for an hour, failed, then let them play and managed to doze a bit. Have come downstairs to watch a film so they are tucked on sofa eating banana bread and I'm heading for the beanbag Grin

Laters...

hotterpotter · 11/09/2010 09:34

OP posts:
hotterpotter · 11/09/2010 13:20

Thanks for the yell TS but my head is fine!

Leg killing though, earlier this morning I thought DS was still upstairs with DH but he wasn't, and the gate was open Shock went legging up the road still in pyjamas but no sign of him Shock felt absolutely sick, ran back to get some clothes on and DH ran out, found him near the main road end of the street coming out of someone's garden, thank fuck he is OK but it was very very scary.

Then my mum and step dad came over and step dad's cancer has come back Sad they were one day from completing on a deal to buy some land in France to build a house which has been their dream for 15 years but has had to be cancelled as doctors have said 6 months if the drugs don't work this time or maybe 8-12 if the do. Trying to keep positive as they told him 6 months in December 2007 but he is still here, so please send as many good vibes as you can to a gobby welshman who we all love so much Sad

Sorry about that Blush

TS I hope K has a brilliant time riding Smile I loved it as a child and wish we had enough cash to do it again.

Loti have fun whatever you do today Smile

Tweaky yay! for hotel-staying PIL Grin

luckoftheirish · 11/09/2010 13:23

hugs hots really hope your step dad has as long as possible.

Glad ds is ok reckon wine o clock should come v early for you today xxx

hotterpotter · 11/09/2010 13:44

Thanks Loti Smile

luckoftheirish · 11/09/2010 15:14

Hope horse riding is lots of fun for K TS XXX

QueenofDreams · 11/09/2010 16:36

Morning all :)

hots so sorry about your stepdad. Good vibes going his way. My A level history teacher's sister was given 6 weeks to live when diagnosed with bone cancer. She lived 3 years. Apparently she said it was the longest six weeks of her life. Still sad as she was only 35 when she passed away though.

tweakers that's fab about the Pea love :) brings a little tear to my eye Blush Is feeding going ok? (drowning aside, obviously)

Not much going on today. We were supposed to be going up to London for DP's nanna's birthday but she's ill so it's been cancelled. MIL is doing a roast so we're heading up to hers in a bit

CrispyTheCrisp · 11/09/2010 18:11

hots {{{hugs}}}. What terrible news, and to put such a blow on life plans too Sad. Much strength to you all Smile

TS Hope K has fun. I can still remember my riding lessons. Loved it Smile

LOTI shopping trips IME either go brilliantly or everything is wrong. Sorry yours was the latter. Did DD1 enjoy school yesterday?

Tweakers Hope the visit goes ok and not too stressful

Strictly on soon, so will see you later.....

hotterpotter · 11/09/2010 18:40

Thanks guys, it is a real fucker but he is being so positive and insisting there's no point moping (v true) that hopefully we can just enjoy what time he has left and maybe that stubborn streak he has will surprise the doctors again. Queenie 35, that's just wrong Sad

TwilightSurfer · 11/09/2010 18:51

HP you've had a CRAP DAY! How horrible about the scare and your Mom's DH's cancer. What a mess. (((((HUG))))))

I want to thank you all for the happy thoughts that pushed the clouds aside and allowed K to have a MAGNIFICENT first riding lesson. I was close to tears watching her have such a fun time. It was AMAZING!!! She loves it and wants to go again. Grin

hots I'm so sorry mate :( Cancer is a fucking evil bastard. All my best vibes and good wishes are heading your family's way xxx Plus of course a loving restraining bear hug for your little escapologist Shock The tinker. Has your heart rate come down to normal yet?
