Bloody shutdown - catches me every time!

TS I'm sure you'll win them over at the meeting. It's a shame Dizzy can't do international orders as with some k'n'b goodies you'd knock 'em dead. I'm sure R's biting will stop once the teeth come through properly too.

Crispy duh yes it was Hots & Cyteen I was including myself with - I'm a tax advisor no accountant - will leave that to DH. Exciting bed fellows that we make!

Dizzy Sad I can see J's pov doesn't make it any easier though does it.

Tweakers a lovely story and a beautiful daughter. I do hope you are taking it easy though.

I had a great conversation with DS about his second morning at nursery yesterday. It went something like this:

Me: 'So what did you play with this morning at nursery?'
DS: 'Blocks'
Me:'Oh that's nice did you make anything?'
DS:'Make a tower'
Me:'Who are your teachers'
DS:'Miss Janet and Miss Naz'
Me:'Who is your favourite Miss Janet or Miss Naz?'
DS:'Mummy' Grin

tweakers · 09/09/2010 07:29

hi spring, must have just missed you earlier! loving DS's conversation!

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/09/2010 07:32

Morning Springa - what alovely conversation with your DS - DD1 would say DH he is her world atm, which can be a little wearing when he is at work.

Speaking of DD1 she is currently watching Tweenies Blush through the bottom of a plastic plate to see if looks different.

Tweaky - hope you milk monster let you get a little rest.

These rst of the messages are on another page and I can't remeber what they were so Just a GOOD MORNING to you all :o

Morning Tweaks

tweakers · 09/09/2010 07:42

morning oops
not really but you know what? i don't mind a bit!
while i've got your attention...thank you for posting on my impatient aug mums thread but how did you know about it?? I kept meaning to ask one of you to update them when i went into labour but forgot and you did anyway!

nanna is number 1 to DS and has been for months! v sweet though, he gets so excited when he sees her

i'm pleased to report that i've perfected my hands free bf technique so my posting on here will be business as usual Grin

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/09/2010 07:49

Tweakers - it was my pleasure - I had caught your name on it in active convos so stalked you popped on as I remember feeling like that 2 years ago. I will never perfest hands free bf as I need to hold my giant nork so it does not suffocate DD2!

tweakers · 09/09/2010 07:51

oh and forgot to say, according to my mws, they don't think DD was overdue Hmm She was covered in thick vernix which they wouldn't expect if she was late so they agree with me that my date should have been a couple of weeks later!!

tweakers · 09/09/2010 07:54

i really appreciate it so thank you! they're a lovely bunch of girls who are all due within a week or so of me. it was obviously great having you lot all here as a support but helped having a group going through exactly the same woes re induction threats etc

GladioliBuckets · 09/09/2010 08:11

TS I wouldn't worry about her being challenged at school just yet. As long as she has access to a library, she'll read them herself and make up her own projects at home. I try not to focus on it with my DD as she puts enough pressure on herself but she chooses books every week and is always writing, making up homework for toys etc. Would rather she was learning for fun anyway and it gives her space from me. This chap is my parenting guru at the mo.

In fact I was even looking at this place yesterday with an eye on DD. Is way cheaper than average private schools and is a bit like paying someone else to home ed your child. However our local secondary school has an Outstanding OFSTED report so seems daft not to use it when she. But good to know the small school is there if her anxiety gets any worse over the years.

Buckets I tagged the book for a later look and the school is PERFECT!!! I'd be considering the very same thing. OMG! If I could make this school thing less stressful on the both of us I think she would EXCEL TO THE HIGHEST HEIGHTS!!

TwilightSurfer · 09/09/2010 11:22

VG it is true I think she's a bit overwhelmed. Needless to say, it's not too cool to verbalized to someone you don't even know that you're the top dog and can't stand that others are trying to offer help. Makes for a bad 1st impression really.Hmm Today I will keep myself in check and hopefully just avoid all room mother discussions.Biscuit

My baby has gone to nursery today. She had her little Peppa Pig backpack on, walked into the classroom and started playing. The only time she fussed was when a little boy took DH to show DH his (the little boy's) peg. DD's peg has Peppa on it and she found it and her drawer without any prompting. When it came to us going she casually waved, said 'bye, see you after lunch' Dh asked for a kiss and she unwillingly gave him her cheek and ran off to play with the dinosaurs! Ifeel lost DD2 is sleeping ,the washing is done, cats are fed, I am even contemplating ironing!Shock

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/09/2010 12:45

Oh bless her oops. Hope she had a lovely morning and you are back to noisy chaos this afternoon Grin

buckets i have contemplated that book a few times but am not so keen on most 'instructive' books. Not sure why HmmConfused. Just a shame our library has closed as i could order it from there Angry

VG am with you on school politics. I fear i shall be roped in sooner rather than later as my arm tends to shoot up involuntarily when they ask for volunteers Hmm

I have had a lovely 2hrs shopping this morning, although rather manic when i realised my parking was running out. Bought a lovely set of Circulon pans from Debenhams (our non-stick ones were 10 years old and trashed) and Xmas PJ's for the girls from Gap who are doing their 30% off again. Let me know if you want a voucher BTW and i'll email it over Smile

GladioliBuckets · 09/09/2010 13:12

LOL I wouldn't call it instructive, it just ties in with his whole philosophy of considering yourself in your plans and not feeling guilty about it. It's also very funnyGrin.

Went to play at new CM this am, her house is quite cluttered so I love herGrin. She says our local junior school seems to be a bit of rubbish compared to the preschool, infants and secondary, esp re special needs. So, before I mention that other school to DH, have sent the link to my rather snobby (educationwise) mum for her opinion. If the website can convert her, I'll mention it to DH. Would mean me having the car everyday too, what a shame.

QueenofDreams · 09/09/2010 14:21

tweakers that sounds lovely (apart from the bleeding) I am glad you got your homebirth. Hoping you're feeling a bit better and won't need to go to hospital.

crispy I'll have a voucher code please. Skintness requires bargains Grin

MIL took DS off to her church's toddler group this morning. I meant to do some cleaning etc but actually just fell asleep Blush Poor DP hasn't seen S at all this week due to the tube strike. He's been getting home super late. Hmm need to go take out mince to defrost. Woops

CrispyTheCrisp · 09/09/2010 14:45

QoD you will need to fb me your email addy Smile. Well done on the sleep, i am sure you need it

oopsandbabycoconuts · 09/09/2010 15:06

She is back and has had a fabulous time only 2 sad moment , 1 when she was asked to tidy up and she had to put her toys in her bag and th e other was when someone offered her cake at lunch - she apparently cried and said 'mummy's cake'. She has since asked about her doggy cake and said how the school one wasn't lke a dog. Then she cried because it was time to go home! We picked up her uniform today and it is huge on her, it will still fit when she is 10!

Crispy - could you mail me the voucher?

Good news on the sleeping QOD.

QueenofDreams · 09/09/2010 15:21

Argh. DS has woken from his nap too early. He obviously still needs sleep but is now hissy fitting in spectacular style. He properly shrieked at me for taking him out the cot, then went even more mental when I put him back in it. There's no dealing with him when he's like this. Just complete hysterical shrieking and sobbing that I can't do anything about. :(

hmph. back of to beard the lion (cub) in his den. Sigh.

luckoftheirish · 09/09/2010 15:37

Hurrah for Pea!!! So pleased she arrived safe and sound tweaky Smile..

back from dub, lovely meeting the gorgeous vg and her handsome boy Smile..

two horrible trips in airports with the dds, my arms feel like they have been stretched beyond belief Grin

GladioliBuckets · 09/09/2010 17:11

Uniform for nursery? What a wheeze!

My mum is in agreement about the hippy school for DD!Shock Not going to talk to DH yet though as it's CD21 which we have recently worked out means I am an emotional waterworks. Already had to take Rescue Remedy this avo, came over all panicky about nothing.

CaptainCaveman · 09/09/2010 19:02

tweakers lovely name! Hope your bleeding is settling down?

O is a bit under the weather today, temp etc but still a happy chappy.

I have a couple of things to make you smile re holiday...

  1. whilst I was stood paddling on the beach shore, Oliver pulled on my bikini bottoms, revealing my lady garden to the entire beach Grin & Blush
  2. AF arrived whilst away, and at the end of her visit after using a new tampon, I left the plastic tampax tube on the side whilst flushing the loo. Next thing O pops up beside me waggling the tampax tube on his finger Shock Grin &
