don't worry about chilling it!

but you can keep your blue cheese

dizzydixies · 05/09/2010 22:21

ROFL at cheese Grin

Rose was the cause of my written off day today Blush so you can have my share too tweakers!

first day in farm shop commercial kitchen tomorrow but I have a feeling it will be a day of setting up and monitoring equipment rather than baking iyswim? Fortunately I have enough to stock the florist before I head down AND I've sorted out childcare seeing as DH back in sodding court again tomorrow

on that note, night all Smile Tweakers I will have my mobile should I need to be contacted Wink

CrispyTheCrisp · 05/09/2010 22:30

Oh Lordy, i am an embarrassment with cheese Blush

tweakers Take the full bottle and enjoy Smile. I think i need to take myself off to bed Grin

hotterpotter · 05/09/2010 22:55

Did I hear cheese and wine??? [hopeful] but I bet it's all long gone now...

tweaky good luck for tomorrow! I reckon a good long walk followed by a midwifely rummage will be just what you need to get things started Smile

Name tags sewn on tomorrow's clothes, school bag, PE shorts & tshirt and lunchbox, sandwiches made and bun wrapped up in foil. I think we are ready for DD's first day at school Shock

TwilightSurfer · 06/09/2010 01:30

Kudos to Queenie & Lucky for considering jobs in primary education. That's where I'm "almost" degreed and I will never work in the field. I am not cut out for it, at least here in the states. It's sad I had to be so far along in my EDumaCATION to figure that out.Hmm

Cyteen thankfully my DH didn't over do his stag stuff this weekend. Last weekend he was fairly reserved too but his brother...NOT. For the first time in 20 years he decided to DRINK. After several beers and 15 TEQUILA SHOTS he was slightly toasted. DH had to drag him out of their friends pool. He drove him home and left him with SIL who was like HmmHmm. She phoned later that evening asking if she should worry because he was passed out in the shower. Then he phoned very early the next morning asking DH where his spectacles were. LOL! Honestly is was all a very funny situation.Grin

Tweakers listening to your family tales causes me to reflect on my final pregnant days. I remember calling my dad from the hospital to see if he'd come get K. I was contracting nicely but it was only 36 weeks. I "think" he heard my question but then immediately starting asking me questions about my aunt's hard drive and what I'd done during my last repair of it.HmmHmm Seriously I think some family just plain CHECK OUT. That's why I surround myself with GLORIOUS FRIENDS. You know I'd pop over at a moments notice and take T for however long you needed. What's one more kid in the mix once you have 2. I get calls like that from friends here. It's a good thing too because it makes me CLEAN OUT MY TRUCK.Wink Grin Bottom line I'm going to be meditating on you tonight so don't be surprised if you feel a wonderful energy surrounding you.Smile

Time for bed for a very "untired" girl. This might be a struggle. Wish me luck!

TS thanks for the wonderful energy you sent over but can you turn it down a bit please? Its woken me up Grin

i'm only here because of my bladder Hmm

springaporesling · 06/09/2010 06:13

Tweakers hope DB turns up and the appointment goes well.

TS are you sure you weren't drinking last night?!

Loti & Queenie I couldn't be a teacher either. My Mum was and I just know it's not for me. Loti I have a friend in Brum who re-trained quite recently as a primary school teacher am happy to put you in touch via fb if you decide to go for it and want any info.

I met my boss by chance in the supermarket on Saturday. He asked me whether I had been involved with the new recruit from Switzerland apparently pssing off a lot of people on Friday. I had to bite my tongue very hard to say no I hadn't been involved but actually quite a few people really pssed me off on Friday!

DS started at his new nursery today so off to see how he got on as DH was dropping him there this morning.

VG we went for open day on Saturday and it is lovely. He had a great time apparently and is heading for a 2hr+ sleep.

CrispyTheCrisp · 06/09/2010 08:37

Good luck to SpringSon at his new nursery, and to Little LOTILady and HotterGirl for their first days of school. I hope they all have a wonderful time and mummies have plenty of absorbent hankies Smile

DD2 still asleep here Shock after an hour of cajoling back to bed at 5.45am Hmm

Back to routine of playgroup/swimming lessons today. Am quite looking forward to it

GladioliBuckets · 06/09/2010 08:39

Can I just have a big 3 cheers for my DH who has been so domesticated this weekend (and really enjoyed it.) Much hoovering, tiptrips, cleaning, childcare and an afternoon out for some daddy-daughter time.

My new CM has already gone slghtly pearshaped, will have to take him to work with me tmrw so good job I have that kind of client. Hope she's organised enough to start next week, I was really looking forward to being a grown up tmrwSad.

TS Thanks ladyGrin. Yay to fringes!

alittlebitshy · 06/09/2010 09:01

Morning.

last day of the hols here, then tomorrow dd starts her new school. somehow i seem to be in the last minute dot come ranks though and have 3-4 labels left to sew on (2 are on a pair of pe sock - that will be a challenge to see how to do it without them making her itch Hmm.

dd has a haircut booked this morning and the lady is going to trim ds's fringe and maybe tidy up at the back though it got cut too short last time - i don't want him to have short boy hair just yet :()

buckets am being a bit daft - can you remind me what your job is? am impressed that you can take ds2 though so whatever it is must be cool!

tweakers · 06/09/2010 09:03

albs thought you'd paid the stockists to sew them on or did i dream that? you're v welcome to pop them round here if you want me to do the last few for you

tweakers · 06/09/2010 09:04

oh and i'm quite jealous of J starting the whole 'B' journey! Grin

tweakers · 06/09/2010 09:05

sorry, that will make no sense to anyone other than albs!

j = dd
b = name of j's new school = name of my old school Smile

alittlebitshy · 06/09/2010 09:08

i did pay them but we managed to get a few second hand bits (not much as the uniform changed recently so not much to be had). hmmmmmmmmmmmm your offer is ever so tempting but i feel guitly asking you to do it. what time is your sweep appt?

must bring j round sometime after schools o you can see the new uniiform.

OH. ds is walking around in an old ballet-like nightie of dd's and her ballet shoes. with a muslin over his head at times. he likes being a pretty boy:)

alittlebitshy · 06/09/2010 09:15

tweaks just told dd you're envious of her and she grinned happily. she wants to see you:)

tweakers · 06/09/2010 09:21

you haven't asked me, i've offered! doofus! sweep's at 1 so i'll prob be out from 12.30 to 2.30 ish (depending on if i cab or walk back) but bro will be here if you just want to drop them off. although actually, they won't take long to do so if you pop round when i'm in, i can do them while you make me a cup of tea Grin

pleased to hear H is in touch with his feminine side!

tweakers · 06/09/2010 09:22

oh and DS has just really cheered me up... i was crawling round the room looking for a missing bit of jigsaw and he kept pointing at me giggling. I asked him what he was laughing at and he just laughed more. it was only when i stood up that i realised he'd put his cuddly monkey on my back Grin

GladioliBuckets · 06/09/2010 09:47

Albs I'm now a self-employed admin with 3 self-employed clients. This week, I am doing a mailshot at home for one, the others are my BF and her DH. All v informal, he once had Kurt on his lap throughout a whole meting! Seems these arty types are only too happy to pay me £10 an hour to do all the stuff they hate (and I actually loveBlush). So, now I am getting paid to stuff envelopes, do marketing, paperwork, event management and all the other stuff I've been doing for free for the NCT for 6yrs!

hotterpotter · 06/09/2010 10:03

Well DD is safely tucked up at school, she was a bit quiet but seemed happy enough playing in a tray of sand while DH and I left with tears trickling down our faces Blush. The house seems so empty despite her having gone to nursery ever afternoon for the last five terms. Don't know what to do now! Have forgotten how to entertain a toddler as have mainly left DD and Thor to play together Blush. May be time to get the duplo out of the loft, or maybe teach DS how to do housework Grin

alittlebitshy · 06/09/2010 12:17

both dc have had haircuts. but i keep getting it wrong with ds and it is even shorter now I think it will grow into a nice shape now sp next time maybe i WILL succeed in only getting the fringe cut but, he looks like a big boy now.....:(

GladioliBuckets · 06/09/2010 12:24

LOL DS1's self-made fringe is growing out really well, we're just going to leave it til Xmas. Just need to cut off the pointy central bit he'll look like Paul Weller (or Jay from InbetweenersGrin).

Finally just finished his knitted Astroboy - hopefully that will put a temporary stop to his CONSTANT prattling. He is already planning his first Youtube movie starring the new toy so you'll get to admire it soon (if it doesn't disintegrate before then.)
