I have recently moved back to London, and would like to set up a babysitting circle like the one I was part of where we used to live. The idea is for everyone to have a set of tokens and you "pay" each other a token per half hour for evening sitting or a token per twenty minutes for day time sitting. If you want a sitter you simply send an email to everyone seeing if they're free on the night your want. You can also do it the other way around - offer yourself as a sitter on a number of nights if you're running low on tokens and want to get some back. Evening sitting works best for two parent families, as one can stay at home with your baby while the other goes to sit for the other baby, but single parents could perhaps bring their babies with them when they sit for others?
