Morning everyone, quick post from me while my sister "babysits" downstairs. I'm in Edinburgh for a few days, visiting my parents and catching up with some friends up here. It's lovely to have the family all together (although DH isn't here); it's been a long time since we had the opportunity as my sister's been in Canada for the past year.
I had a lovely visit to soft play on Friday with PacificDogwood and gorgeous wee Joe. So we can oficially cross her name off the potential hairy trucker list now
. Soft play is a whole new world for me, but Isobel seemed to enjoy it. It was possibly less busy and cleaner than a lot of the ones in London mind you.
Dizzi I'm so sorry about your friend, that's incredibly sad.
rebeccad I hope you're doing OK. ((hugs))
evitas how are you finding being back at work? Hope it's all going ok.
Fliss please don't feel bad about DD rolling off the sofa. I did exactly the same thing a few weeks back. She was inconsolable at first and I was panicking, but there was no harm done whatsoever.
MummyElk I can see where you're coming from with the BFing. I suppose it's like a lot of things, in that there are so many aspects that you can't necessarily control so when you find something that does work well for you it's hard to psychologically let go, if that makes sense. Hope the (trendy
) thrush clears up soon.
iwcas good news about R settling himself to sleep better. And I'm loving all your FB videos, he's such a cutie.
Flip glad you had a nice time back home, lovely photos on FB. You're looking fab too :)
Sariska glad to hear your BIL wasn't too badly hurt, that must've been scary though. Hope your DS is feeling better and you had a better night last night.
Pixie lovely to hear (on another thread) that your DD2 is doing so much better. And how cute that the twins only go down for naps together!
Afri good to see you around. Always nice to hear from the lurkers :)
I was wondering about BookWormDad the other day too. I know it's difficult to join a group that's been on the go for a bit, please don't be scared though, we're all very happy to have you here!
Arcadie is your niece really 2 months already? Hope you have a nice time.
As for weaning, Isobel's been trying lots of things recently; carrot and sweet potato soup and avocado have gone down well, as have rice cakes and mashed potato. And she loves to suck on a bit of cucumber. I offered her a lemon wedge yesterday, which my parents thought was cruel, but she quite enjoyed it! She seems to prefer purees though; anything in bits or with too much texture, she gags and brings it back up.
I can hear Isobel getting louder downstairs, I'd better go and help. Apologies to anyone I've missed/forgotten.
