Welcome to the latest thread for mums of babies born in March ( and a few in Feb and one in April!).

Come on in. Find out who'll be pg next and who's weaning onto what.

He he, well Miles is very stroganoff so guess his cousin Bruce might be Grin

donttrythisathome · 01/10/2010 13:15

haven't caught up since lasr night but Smac I use the bumgenius at night with TWO boosters!
Doesn't leak through to clothes although the lining is damp.
Also have a slinki minki which is very good.

Dalrymps · 01/10/2010 13:41

Btw Melk, I think you wrote something about being tiredly fighting or struggling or something like that. That is exactly how I feel today, Dylan is being sooo impossible that I could happily pinch myself as I feel so frustrated and don't want to snap at him Sad

He constantly ignores me or answers back and always wants to do the opposite of what we're doing or what he's asked to do lately. Aaaaarrrrrrggggggghhhhhhh!

Arcadie · 01/10/2010 14:13

rofl at Dalrymps returning with her own special brand of predictive typing. Grin bruce & stroganoff!

Lol Arcadie, I do it every time!

Even my last post is full of mistakes

MandaHugNKiss · 01/10/2010 16:25

Ah, yes, the stroganoff baby. And now a Bruce. Fantastic.

I've been a bit lurky again... for several reasons. Dealing with lots of stuff but will be ok

For whomever asked about the dress I wore a couple weeks ago to the wedding it was this one (this link is where I got it from and has a mini video of a model on the catwalk so you can see exactly what I looked like Grin )

oh the glamour!

MummyElk · 01/10/2010 19:40

hi all - been quiet this afternoon?
dairy glad to see you a) are drastically in need of an iphone app too Grin and b) struggling with headstrong toddlers [understanding sympathetic smile] The elk has had me in floods of tears again today, at my lowest i'm thinking she needs some sort of check to see if she's too thin/hyperactive/arsey, at my highest she's had me killing myself laughing with her various antics. A VERY wet dog walk this afternoon with my friend in similar straits and her wise mum made me hope think she's perhaps just a normal 2.7 yo Hmm. but THANK GOD FOR PIXAR/DREAMWORKS!!! Grin

On the DD2 front, she's been lovely today - she didn't sleep so good but has been a sunny little baby today and seems to love her food....who knows what will happen tomorrow....

my mum on phone, back anon

MummyElk · 01/10/2010 20:15

ladies - er, slightly embarrassing...Blush...but I have a slice of cake here, sent to me by someone anonymous....Confused
I thought it could be one of two people in RL - it's not Hmm.
I'm not exactly sure but it could also be from someone on here...Blush

is it????

It says "Because you didn't sound like you last night and I wanted to make you smile"
Grin
Even if it isn't one of you...how nice is that?!!!
There are probably only two of you who have my address so I'm still not sure...

but anyway - it did make me smile (and sob a little too)

angfirsttimer · 01/10/2010 20:31

melk what lovely friends you have that's such a lovely thing for someone to do, if it is someone on here you are all even lovelier than I thought!

PacificDogwood · 01/10/2010 20:54

Good evening, ladies Smile!

V grey and wet day here today - my new Wakefield jacket (purchased on MN advice, natch Wink!) really came into its own today, so I am very happy with said investment.

Went into work, had all my passwords reset, did BIG grocery shop and had my hair cut. I almost feel ready to actually go to work next week . No point moaning about it, needs must and all that - a more structured day might actually do me good...

Dizzi, how did the interview go?

Pixie, how are you today? How is Margot Wink? V classy name btw - was Margot Fonteyn the inspiration?

Dalrymps, how are you - and your boob Wink? Hope all is well. Look up Kellymom on mastitis - IME you feel quiet horrible with it, not just a pain. And I hope toddler taming has not been too taxing today for you.
And how is Burce? 'Tis a lovely name, but a bit... ahem, unusual for a girl, non Grin? Hope mum and baby are doing well.
And somebody please enlighten me re the Stroganoff reference Confused - what am I missing there??

at siamese going for a swim chez Pixie's as 'nothing on' Grin.

Aaaah, Melk, cake by post, that is SO nice! It wasn't me, I am afraid, but I really hoped it worked and made you feel better Smile. I so sympathise about the psychopathic small person being able to reduce you to tears - I don't think I have ever cried so many frustrated/helpless/angry tears than in the last 3 months or so.

Here it has been A Good Day (well, apart from the rain): Joe has got the eating-off-a-spoon think sussed GrinSmileGrin!! Maybe the custard that DH gave him a couple of days ago convinced him that there was something to be gained by this feeding lark. So today he had some banana porridge (not mealie meal, tooblessed - see I spotted the likely Southern Africe link too Wink) and apple/pear/raspberry puree and actually voluntarily opened his mouth and swallowed some of it - rather than me just smearing stuff around his chops and then wiping it off again Grin. He also reduced a piece of yellow sweet pepper to pulp without much choking and spluttering.
Funny how that little thing (him eating, I mean) is making me so disproportionately happy Grin.

Right, have to go and chase big boys to bed - they do like a late night at the weekend...

MandaHugNKiss · 01/10/2010 21:13

melk how beautiful. I have an inkling how you feel - except the child making me feel that way is 12, almost 13 and I'm really at the end of my tether with him. I was even screamed at the other day that I'm a 'fucking bitch'. I'm sure elk doesn't use such choice words, but it's all a challenge none-the-less and only made worse by the fact we're all pretty knackered. I cannae send cake, but a vitual hug I can

Yay for Joe snaffling food down PD! Maybe sleep will come soon after Shock

The last few nights James seems to be sleeping much better all of a sudden. I did a quick 'home weigh' so obviously not exactly accurate, but he seems to be around the 9.2kg mark. Which means we've just over doubled birth weight finally. Isn't there a thing where 'they' say babies sleep better once they've done so?

MandaHugNKiss · 01/10/2010 21:17

PD not sure why, but I just decided to click on your name to nose at your profile... makes for amusing reading Grin

Blush

Manda, you think slight update would be in order? Oh dear.

Sorry to hear about the tweenage trouble - not something I am looking forward to.

And gorgeous dress, wow!

That's it, I've decided my earlier faux pas was actually smarting of genius! If my next baby is a girl I shall name her Bruce after The Boss Grin

Pacific, thanks for asking about my breast, I don't feel flu like or ill at all, it just feels like my nipple and my breast directly behind the nipple inside are burning/ stinging...occasional shooting pain. He has been giving the already cracked nip a hard time the past few days, chomping and pulling off etc. Any chance it's infected or something like thrush? Although wouldn't thrush be in both sides? Hmm hurts when I feed Sad

Melk - I think you have the female version of Dylan! Seriously, I also worry genus too thin/ hyperactive and arsey lol

PacificDogwood · 01/10/2010 22:11

Dalrymps, thrush is not invariably in both sides and the discomfort you're describing sounds a bit like it could be thrush... Also blocked ducts/glands/mastitis should get better during after a feed. I think get yourself checked out.

Take this leaflet from the Breastfeeding Network with you as lots of Drs do not know how to treat thrush of the lactating breast properly.

HTH.

And FWIW, my DS2 is the arsey/hyperactive one and he is NOT at all skinny, so there Wink.

I am off to brush my teeth as no doubt Joe will be shouting for me shortly... well, it has been well over 90min since his last feed afterall Hmm.

Dalrymps · 01/10/2010 22:21

Argh! NOT 'smarting' of genius, I meant to write a stroke of genius!

Also I worry he is too thin/ etc etc not 'genus' where DO these words come from?!!!!

Pacific, thanks for the info. Do you think it's ok to rest that side a bit or will that make it worse?

I am also Grin at Bruce and I remember the strogonoff thing but can't remember what it was supposed to be.
manda that outfit is v glam. I can see how you would struggle to BF in it.
melk hope the cake helped a bit. Has Miss Marple got any further clues?
And siamese Sherlock of the north how is your investigation going?
Oh there was more I was going to say but my mind has gone blank

It was Arcadie but it wasn't the Macarena but I can't remember what it was. That was back in ante-natal and my brain is still made of porridge. Why can't I remember stuff ?
