howdy ladies, seems to be a difficult time for a lot of us right now...thanks for the shout-out siamese am indeed a big lurky thing... work is just insane right now, I have so much to do I can only laugh, alternative is to sob in despair. Also fear I am getting sick. I can't afford to though! Arrgh. Hope its not another breast infection, have already had two. DD not happy today - clingy, crying (most unusual) - maybe teething? Issues with the DH? Check. Sigh.
Welcome tooblessed - my DD was also born on the 31st of march. And if I am not entirely mistaken, you must be from southern Africa..just living in norway. No-one else knows mealie meal. Am i right? Wine, chocolates, hugs, reassurance to all who need it, and Envy at meet-ups and those not yet back at work/SAHMs. Am off...too work. Sad

AfriBaby · 28/09/2010 18:30

Evening everyone :)

Pixie, think those Mila's daydreams photos are gorgeous, I'd love to be so creative (and have the necessary time and patience). I've seen Anna on Facebook occasionally btw, so she is around, but not here obviously iyswim.

BusyMissIzzy · 28/09/2010 20:36

Afribaby, sport on,i am from Southern Africa, moved to Norway in 2007 to be with DH,the best move i ever made, congrats on your DD,will give my DD a hug from yours:o

BusyMissIzzy · 28/09/2010 21:26

OK, back again from baby bath time chez Busy household. Clean baby: check. Soaking wet floor: check. Isobel likes to "bang" the floor with her hands and has recently discovered that this is even more fun in the bath.

scooby26 · 28/09/2010 21:26

Evening- sorry was busy with house stuff- terribly ruse if me! How's u pixie ? X

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 28/09/2010 21:29

BMI Bella does it too,the splashing is getting better and better by the day,

Pixie how are you doing?

scooby26 · 28/09/2010 21:32

isnt it great when they enjoy bathtime?? DS face lights up when i carry him into the bathroom!

MummyElk · 28/09/2010 21:34

do you know what, bathtime is our saviour at the moment - DD2 has her only real arsey moment of the day at about 5.50 and we generally distract her with bath - which she LOVES...despite her sister splashing the bejesus out of her!!
swimming today was good too, she is still compeltely unfazed by going under and seems to be fine even doing it without looking AT me as she comes up?!!

BusyMissIzzy · 28/09/2010 21:36

We've only taken Isobel swimming once and we didn't completely immerse her. She shivers and whimpers a bit when she gets water over her face in he bath too. Is there a way to get her more used to it?

DizziDoll · 28/09/2010 21:36

Pixie How are you? Did you have a nice talk with DH?

OMG - DS has suddenly become a total mummy's boy.
He won't eat anything whilst he is with the CM now. No bottle, no solids.
Tomorrow he is going to the CM from 9am to 1pm and then a babysitter is going to look after him from 5pm until midnight (we got tickets to Live at the Apollo). I have no idea if or when he is going to eat tomorrow.

SmacsGonePotty · 28/09/2010 21:37

evening ladies. Just checking in.
I have had 3 really bad nights sleep so went to bed at 9pm last night. DD2 was still asleep downstairs so I told DH to bring her up to me if she woke or just bring her up when he was coming up to bed. He woke her at 10.10 and she was hysterical. Wouldn't feed, just kept crying. I eventually got her settled again after midnight. So much for an early night :(
I really hope tonight is better. She is teething, has a sore bottom and has a snotty nose just to top it off :(

FlipFantasia · 28/09/2010 21:39

Evening all

Pixie, glad you're getting some skype time - skype is such a marvel. We regularly video skype with my PIL in the states (well, we sit DS in front of the laptop so they can see him via video skype and talk on the phone usually).

Bathtime is usually my DH's thang but I was on bath duty tonight as DH is out on the lash at a colleague's leaving do. Tis great fun - lots and lots of splashing!

Mila's daydream - I love it but am also envious. Am amazed at her ideas!

scooby26 · 28/09/2010 21:40

mummyelk it must be great that DD2 loves her swimming. DS is also doing that and is ok with it ( think its why he loves bath so much) but wouldnt say he LOVES it. It great to watch the babies that do. He hasnt been able to go for last two weeks cos he has been so unwell and im worried he will fall behind and forget how to go underwater!!

BMI think its really just practice. Either in the bath or pool say Ready Isobel Go and then pour water over her face. DO it every day 3/4 times and she will very quickly become used to it and not cry ( not soapy water though!)

scooby26 · 28/09/2010 21:44

Dizzi - I guess he has to eat sometime so he will give in eventually - he is a boy afterall Wink

smac welcome to our world - been horrendous for about ten days now. It's not his fault though but still sad to see him pulling his eyes and rubbing his head and snotty and sore bummed!

Milas Daydream is cool - not seen it before

evitas · 28/09/2010 21:44

Good evening all

DS also loves to splash in the bath.

Pixie - I'm glad you are feeling better :)

Dizzi - sorry to hear that your baby is not taking any food. If makes me feel nervous about my DS, when he goes to the CM.
