So the last thread could be used as proof that September 09 (and an August!) parents were kept far too busy by their babies to talk about them very often! Shall we see if we can get this one done before second birthdays (eek, 2 is so big) are upon us?

bump!

ChutesTooNarrow · 11/03/2011 19:42

Gabe appears to have successfully unnight-weaned himself Hmm Am hoping we can get back to the distant memory of a night's sleep when his cold has passed.

Any exciting plans for the weekend, anyone?

Stressing about house guff I think for me!

And being kissed by Mads - it's his latest thing. Very slobbery lovely :o

crapbarry · 11/03/2011 21:11

we may be ikea-ing again, depends if I can persuade DH :o

Oli also crap at sleeping. He's started saying 'cuggle?' and stretching out for a cuddle though, which is supremely cute, so we'll allow him to live a little longer. he tries to stick his tongue in when he kisses, so we avoid that as much as possible.

I've just heard a friend of mine in Tokyo is safe and sound at the embassy there, so am a bit less worried than I was earlier. She's an english teacher out there, and should be coming home this year - I'd assume sooner rather than later now. Her poor mum was beside herself with worry.

Lazyem · 12/03/2011 08:28

Well, I have had to start the day off by making an imaginary birthday breakfast for the imaginary birthday girl, Keith! Apparently she likes fruit and fibre and a cup of tea.

Have had a remarkably good week with J. He has been eating a good amount and been very happy again. Even sitting with DH while I am in other rooms, which hasn't happened in a long time. Only thing is now that the mornings are lighter the DCs are both waking up earlier, so I am going to investigate more light-proofing for their rooms! Already have blinds, but the curtains haven't got black-out linings, so might have to do that.

Nothing exciting the weekend as both DH and I have uni work to do and so will be taking it in turns to have the DCs while the other works. I also had a fit if cleanliness yesterday and started spring cleaning. Doesn't happen often, so I went with it and now the house is looking a bit more presentable! Having had the new fire in and out due missing parts and then the plaster cracking, having it re-plastered and having the fire in the middle of the room for a week, it has been a bit dusty in here! Grin Just need to paint the new plaster then we will be ready to have the fire re-fitted next week.

Also want to have a drive in DH's new car! I'm not really into cars, but I like to have a go in them when he gets a new one!! Grin

Hope you all have nice plans for the weekend!

Lazyem · 12/03/2011 08:29

Meant to say, glad to hear your friend is safe, Crapberry. I was watching the news last night and it looked terrifying.

BerryLellowFluffyChicks · 12/03/2011 08:50

Glad your friend is safe - I've been watching the footage - especially of the tsunami - in disbelief. All those poor people trying to get away Sad

Very jealous of potential Ikea trip - there's a 75% off sale on at the moment so you may need to sharpen your elbows :o

Got 3 boys today as we have DP's son too for swimming lessons and afterwards. It's like trying to herd cats with that many, I don't know how people do it! I shall be pooped by the end of the day....maybe I'll have a nice takeaway

Hope everyone has a good one! This is the longest post I've put on our thread in aaaages :)

Lazyem · 12/03/2011 16:09

Liking the new name, Berry! Grin

DD just 'rang' Hannah's helpine because I confiscated 2 toy cars that her and J were arguing over! DH and I were listening from the other room while she was doing it, trying not to laugh!! Grin "Hello, Hannah? Jojo's not sharing and Mummy took the toys!" I fear the teenage years already!!

peachygirl · 12/03/2011 17:21

HI I'm still around but just popping in

Lazyem · 12/03/2011 17:30

Is Zoe all better now, Peachy?

crapbarry · 17/03/2011 11:36

ooh, another new smiley! Shamrock we're truly spoiled :o

mastitis is a bitch, am sitting at my desk trying not to move and wincing every few minutes.

what's hannah's helpline Ladyem? hope zoe is better now peachy.

oli has spent the past few nights sleeping quite well - waking mid-night, but going back to sleep quite well. he's been having regular meltdowns though, so obviously needs more sleep. I had him doing longer days at nursery this week, so he's knacked from that, poor thing.

right, better get back to this chromosome, yawn

ChutesTooNarrow · 17/03/2011 11:52

Baz if you are in pain then you need to go home. Trying to carry on might make it worse, I can't imagine driving in pain is much fun either.

Gabe's sleep has reverted back to terrible. Excuse my appalling language, but I am well fucked off by it. I almost rather would not have had the week of sleeping through as it just seems cruel to go back to 2 hourly waking. I am Not Handling it very well as evidenced by S rushing in last night because I was shrieking 'just go to BLOODY SLEEP' at Gabe Sad

OP posts:
peachygirl · 18/03/2011 20:07

Hi I' hope everyone is ok, sorry I seem never to be around for prolonged period of time and just pop in and out.
Things have settled down here again Zoe is much better. Now getting up to her ususal tricks with her sister!

crapbarry · 21/03/2011 10:49

hiya, glad zoe is better peachy - hope she gives you some peace!!

Oli had a nosebleed this morning, so I'm a bit worried about him, hoping nothing is wrong.

hope Gabe reverts back to actually sleeping Chutes - we've had a couple of near-shaking occasions in the middle of the night after the little bastard love has woken up and decided that 3am is an ideal time to play Hmm

I might be in southHampton at the end of April btw (over the royal wedding holiday) - will let you know nearer the time, if you'll be around then! we could meet and bitch about our ghastly toddlers :o

ChutesTooNarrow · 21/03/2011 15:38

We have no plans to leave the county over April! I hope you make it down. I hope Oli is ok as well, gushing blood is not fun.

Gabe's sleep is bloody shocking. I didn't go to sleep until gone 4 this morning, am a bit delirious today.

Gabe has just started giving DP and I great big bear hugs and he flings his arms around our necks and squeezes tightly. It is the most wonderful heart melty thing ever and I had a little teary moment when Gabe did it to me earlier. No kisses yet though!

OP posts:
Lazyem · 21/03/2011 17:42

Hey everyone!

Hope that oli is OK, Crapbaz. These toddlers always have something coming out of them, don't they! Fingers crossed it was a one off.

Glad that your girls are all better, peachy.

Chutes, I would be not functioning at all if I hadn't gone to bed until 4am! I hope that he has a better night tonight. Lovely that he is giving big hugs now!! Grin It is things like that that make it all worth while!

Not much to report here. J teething like a gud 'un and is not happy at all. Back to not eating, crying lots and generally hanging from my leg. Came on here on Sunday to have a good old moan and saw the thread about Edgar's DS. Not sure if you saw it, but it is so very sad and even though I didn't really know her it has really shocked me and I can't seem to get it off my mind, I might volunteer to do a square for the quilt they are considering making for the family.

DD is on the count down to her birthday and is getting very excited! We still have 2.5 weeks to go, so I'm fully expecting her to be completely wound up by then! Grin Disney a week on Friday and she is already sorting out her dressing up outfits that she wants to take!

Right, better get the troops fed so I can get them in bed and do some work!! Grin

BerryLellow · 24/03/2011 15:05

oh I lost it again - the thread I mean :)

We were doing so well filling this one, and now norty facebook has us heading back to the one thread per year :o

How is everyone?

Em - I'm sorting out my square for the Edgar quilt this weekend, I went out and bought bits yesterday. It's so, so sad.

Lazyem · 24/03/2011 19:52

Started mine today, Baz. I haven't done embroidery for years, so am just sewing a doggy patch on some fabric (she said on one thread that he liked dogs!), then might try for one with a flower on, see how I get on! Funny how much something can affect you even though you don't actually know them in RL. I think it is amazing that so many people are helping out. Must say I have been much more forgiving of my 2 this week!

Loving the sunny weather at the moment. Hoping it stays this way for the weekend. You all got much planned, or is it more hous-ey stuff? Hope that it is all going well for everyone and that things are progressing nicely. Do you think we should have our meet-up in Ikea?!! Grin Bristol one has a nice cafe!! Grin

Have been keeping an eye out for an announcement from April! Think she is due next week.

crapbarry · 25/03/2011 09:49

I saw Edgar's thread, so utterly bloody awful. And what a gorgeous little boy :( I don't have time or skills to sew a square, but wish I did.

We're knackered, as we've decided to night wean Oli - I'm absolutely sick to the back teeth of having him in our bed from midnight every night. So for the past 2 nights he has just YELLED for 3 hours (last night 2.5) before settling himself back to sleep. DH and I have been taking turns sitting with him, but we are both totally pooped. We're giving it a week to stop him screaming for hours, so I'm getting prepared for us both being deeply pissy for the next few days! I'm also seriously contemplating stopping breast feeding, he is chewing my nipples so badly they are white and incredibly painful for about 30 minutes after each feed. Not fun. I think I'll try and keep on with the bedtime feeds until he's 2, which was my original goal, but drop all the others.

A meet in IKEA sounds good :o what was the consensus on Peppa Pig World? what dates were you going to be there Ladyem?

see y'all on facebook anyway!!

BerryLellow · 28/03/2011 17:31

bumping for my threads I'm on....

IKEA meet up eh? I will NOT bring Mads to that one! He's probably got a life ban for throwing my hot chocolate over another customer in the cafe anyway...

crapbarry · 30/03/2011 10:27

congratulations on DS2's arrival April - he's very cute! hope you got him on the census form!!

Berry - Oli pulled a little girl off the slide in IKEA last time we went - she was unimpressed at this toddler daring to get in her way - it was almost funny, except that she was a lot bigger than him and looked ready to dish out a beating, so we moved on swiftly.

We are on attempt 3 or 4 (can't remember how many times we've tried now!) of controlled crying. It's been 6 nights, and last night only took an hour, and then he slept pretty much all night! woke at 3, I laid him back down, said 'sleep', and he did! DH and I are both totally sleep drunk today :o

We also established that we are DEFINITELY NOT ready for another child at the moment - had a pregnancy scare over the weekend (period 2 weeks late Shock) and actually took a test - and when I showed it to DH, without saying first that it was negative, he blanched and looked very very sick. And when I told him it was negative, he sort of slumped, wiped his brow and went 'oh thank fuck for that'. And he has been saying something similar repeatedly since sunday :o

crapbarry · 04/04/2011 12:26

lonesome bump! I'll just sit and drink Wine whilst I wait for everyone else to turn up :o

BerryLellow · 04/04/2011 17:04

I'll have a Wine if there's a bottle open :o

Nothing like a pg scare to show you how you really feel!

Madok is slowly starting a vocabulary that doesn't involve pointing and grunting. This week we have 'Go!' but only if someone else provides the ready, steady. I'm in no rush, as J doesn't shut up, bless him. I think it may get very noisy soon...

Lazyem · 05/04/2011 20:52

Hi everyone! We're back and I could so do with a Wine Grin

Had an absolutely fabulous time and I highly recommend it, but am shattered and looking forward to a quiet night with holby city and a cup of tea.

Will catch up with the other thread tomorrow when I can see straight. J was a star all weekend, but then yesterday teething returned with a vengeance and he has been crying all day, not eating and basically feeling very sorry for himself. DD has had her moments today, too. A combination of tiredness, over excitement and sad to be leaving Disney behind. Hopefully they will both be back to normal by Thursday for her birthday.

Crapbaz, sorry, I thought I had posted after your other post, but I must have not pressed send! You painted a real picture of your DH's face when you showed him the test! Grin

Hope you had a lovely weekend and that the house purchases are all going to plan!

Lazyem · 05/04/2011 21:58

Oooh, also had a baaaaad parenting moment today. We stopped overnight last night in Canterbury to break the journey up, so we decided to go and see the Cathedral while we were there. J was crying for some reason or another and DD was not in the mood for sight-seeing and was lagging behind, so I was telling her off trying to persuade her for the umpteenth time to hurry up and while I was ranting at her that I'd had enough of this behaviour explaining that I was very cold and could she please hurry up I turned a corner and Aled Jones of 'Walking in the air' fame was there with a camera crew!! Blush Oh, the shame!! I just smiled and carried on walking, being very nice to DD in case he thought I was a bad parent!!
