Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could tell me any mums groups in Stokey/Newington Green? Also, does your local nurse that visits you when the baby is born usually set up a mums group for you with other mums? Any help would be much appreciated as I don't really know where to start looking!
Cheers

Hi there

have you had your baby yet - if not when is it due? I live around there and might be able to suggest some local resources...

Hi there

a few ideas. Your health visitor should let you know your most local childrens centres and should write it in the red baby book you'll be given when your little one arrives

They will have mum and baby groups at these so do pop in once you have your new one. You can look up which is closest to you in advance on here:
www.learningtrust.co.uk/childrens_centres/ and can pop in before you have your baby to find out more. Some of them run postnatal groups designed for the first weeks after you have your baby.

Have you done any antenatal classes? They often arrange a reunion postnatally so you can form your own little group.

There are various mum and baby activities in stokey that you can do to meet other mums. Splash Babies runs lovely swimming classes at Sunstone gym that you can do with a very tiny baby. www.splashbabies.co.uk/

Here is a list of baby activities in stoke newington: www.mumsplus.com/events

It is also worth popping in to the many kids' shops on church street (especially Born) where they will know loads of things to do locally and there will be flyers up.

Let me know if you need anything else and good luck with everything.

Thanks very much - that gives me heaps of ideas and things to look up!

I didn't do antenatl classes, but I did take antenatal yoga, so will continue on with the same girls in the post-natal classes. Will look up the other things you suggest now.

Your suggestions are very much appreciated.
