PS. Just changed my chat name as 'Pip' is no longer in my belly!! :D

WhatSheSaid · 05/08/2010 21:58

Well, she will sleep at night but she has decided to wake up every 1-2 hours, which means I'm woken up about 6 or 7 times!

Dd1 used to wake up once or twice a night, feed and go straight back to sleep, she was an eeeeeeeeasy baby. This babyis lovely too, I just can't work out why she's waking so often.

Amazingly I don't feel that tired, mainly because I'm going to bed at 8.30pm each night so by 7 the next morning I still manage to egt about 8 hours sleep, even if it has been broken 6 times!

She's 4 weeks old today, I'm not sure if it's a growth spurt or reflux or what? Like I say, dd1 never did this, so I'm baffled.

PipIsOutNow · 06/08/2010 12:57

Finn had a nightmare night last night and i actually had about an hours sleep so im hanging today!!

LooL00 · 11/08/2010 19:47

Can I join this july thread with my 30th june dc3? She was due in July but turned up in June .She is 6 weeks today, born at home and hasn't been out much! . whatshesaid going to bed early is the only way through this stage, i have ds(age 5) and dd1(age4) so no daytime naps for me! Dc3 had a massive feeding spurt at the weekend, my mum had come for lunch and kept trying to grab her from me but dc3 was having none of that and just wanted to feed all day.My other dc nver went back to sleep after being fed at night, this one does so I don't care how often she wakes, I just get up to bed early.

imissredwine · 12/08/2010 09:00

Hello, also have a July 2010-er

2 weeks earlier than expected and keeping us on our toes since !

CherryPie3 · 13/08/2010 19:39

Helloooo.....

Please may I join?

DC3 arrived 4weeks ahead of schedule on 2nd July - I have a dd age 5 and ds1 age 4.

DS2 (oh how I love writing that :) ) is 6 wks old today :):)

Currently breastfeeding after some ups and downs with ductal thrush but fingers crossed that seems to have passed now - still got cracked nipples tho :( so am relying on nipple sheilds and slathering lansinoh cream on for the time being.

Can't believe its first injections in 2 weeks :(:(:(:(:(

hate those so much!!

CherryPie3 · 13/08/2010 19:40

ahem... I meant shields Blush

can't blame pregnancy brain anymore - how about sleep deprivation? Grin

LooL00 · 14/08/2010 14:14

Hi cherrypie I'm dreading the jabs too,and in the school hols so the other dc will have to come too (I've got a 5 and a 4 year old too).

CherryPie3 · 14/08/2010 16:12

Hi looLOO, how have your dc taken to the new arrival? My dd just wants to do everything and gets quite stroppy when I say no!! Bless her - she's only trying to help but I'm terrified that she's gonna hurt him. DS1 gives him a kiss every now and then but other than that isn't too bothered that theres a new baby in the house.

Had a horrible with ds2 last night and a feeling very Confused today. Its 4 in the afternoon now but it feels about 10am!
He just wanted to feed and feed and feed!! First time I've ever doubted my milk supply because he just drank and drank. I think possibly his 5ml dose of lactulose probably made him uncomfortable as well tho - bt it did at least do the job.....TWICE!! Had 2 very full nappies to contend with as well in my grizzly bear mood Grin.

Hope everyone is well xx

LooL00 · 15/08/2010 11:26

Hi everyone!

cherrypie isn't it the 6 week growth spurt you're going through? DC3 did it last weekend at 5 and a bit weeks and we're through it now I hope. I doubt my milk supply often, but dc3 is getting chubby and pooing a lot so it must be ok.

ninaandbean · 16/08/2010 18:16

Austin Victor, 22nd July, 6lb 9 - arrived two weeks early - should have been an August baby but July is fine with me!

three weeks old now and bonny :) definitely got colic though, farting burping and spitting up most evenings. He is DC1 so advice on getting through it most welcome! he's still on the wee side (9th percentile) but getting fatter now we're FF him. BF didn't work out :( but he's doing grand now so we move on...

looking forward to hearing all about July babies! congrats on your little ones arriving safe everyone x

CherryPie3 · 17/08/2010 17:09

Hi all :)

LooL00 Yes I think it probably was the growth spurt although he doesn't appear to be doing a lot of growing in the weight dept - he just gets longer. He was weighed on Friday and was only 8lbs 13oz - and that was straight after a half hour feed!! He was 8lbs 4oz at birth. Apparently he's averaging his weight out now as he was 4 weeks early and was huge for a 36weeker.

Still felt a bit :( tho cos I felt as thought bf wasn't going as well as it should be but the mw's (had to go go to their ante-natal drop in as the health visitor didn't come) assured me it's ok as he looks perfect.

nina I was also very relieved that my little one decided he wanted to join the world early too!! Weather and SPD was driving me up the wall!
Don't feel bad that bf didn't work out - it didn't for me with my other 2 children. We tried but for one reason or another we had to stop - was much less stressful when we finally got them on formula as everyone was much happier. I didn't think tiredness, hormonal-ness and hunger worked well together. :)

At least you tried, there are many mums that don't! A lot of my Aunt's and cousins etc think I'm strange for wanting a baby hanging off my 'tit-end' (there words not mine) Shock.

Hoping you're both well - nothing much happening here, feeding Corey, changing Corey, feeding Corey....and counting down the days til my dd and ds go back to school (16days!!) - xxxx

ninaandbean · 17/08/2010 17:47

CherryPie, SPD had me on crutches and codeine and miserable too! It's much better now but I still have some pain in my back and at the front if I walk for more than half an hour. Hoping it will continue to get better as time passes, but may need more physio. Did you have it with previous pregnancies? Has it improved? Hope you feel much better now!

CherryPie3 · 17/08/2010 19:21

Nina - SNAP!! I had crutches and codeine too, I don't feel too bad now - it's turning over in bed that still hurts but nowhere near as bad as when I was preggers. I didn't have it with my first pregnancy but I did with my second - got to admit tho it was muchos worse this time :(.
xx

ninaandbean · 17/08/2010 20:16

glad you're feeling a bit better CherryPie sorry to hear it got worse, I've been warned it would prob be worse with further pregnancies but I'm hoping medicinal pilates and physio and better diagnosis could protect me in the future - worse would be a wheelchair and that sounds awful! I'd be a bit worried about looking after DS if I was as bad as this time again, so prob won't hurry into having any more! Not to mention DH was traumatised by the whole thing and isnt keen lol. So well done you for getting through pregnancy with SPD AND two DC's! impressive :)

Like you I am feeding Austin, changing Austin (who is looking rather snazzy in his new cloth bottom nappies today - he's just about grown into them at last!)and feeding him so more... not enough sleep this end!

Hello everyone else and big congrats on all your lovely July babies :)

LooL00 · 18/08/2010 08:58

Morning everyone! Hope you all got a few hours sleep.
ninaandbean and cherrypie I'm an ex SPD sufferer too! Housebound for the last month and unable to take my dc to school/nursery myself.I'm still wobbly round the hips and still can't turn over in bed. I'm seeing the physio mid sept, I saw her after dc2 and she straightened me out a bit and gave me exercises to do and I was fine after that. This time i think I may try to do pilates, but fitting it in may be a problem.
DC3 has been projectile pooing again last night,we need to redecorate! The other 2 dc got up at 7 and dc3 has gone back to sleep and is refusing to get up,lucky her.

hi ruffles :) congratulations on the arrival of Benjamin!

I hope everyone's having a good day today? I just woke up so I have very attractive pillow creases on my face in the middle of the day and am off to mix up a bottle again lol. Ah motherhood!

hi guys!

finn is 5 weeks old now and i cant believe where the time has gone! its very scary doing it all by myself now dp is back in work (he works nights too). got my little bear cwtched on my front as um typing...its so lovely to ginally have him here. he's sleeping quite well in nights at the mo too so fingers crossed.

i too am an ex spd sufferer, and went 3 weeks early with finn via an emergency section!! i also failed miserably with the bf attempts but he's happy and healthy on a bottle so im not too bothered.

quick question - is it ok to change the brand of formula milk? he's on aptamil which seems to be the most expensive brand and money is pretty tight!! but il keep him on it if its recommended not to change it...any ideas guys?

hope u and ur little bundles are well...xxx

PipIsOutNow · 19/08/2010 18:42
