Hi girls - can't you tell we're busier than when we were pregnant, I expected coming back on here and spending hours reading ten thousand posts!! Instead it took me 5 minutes to read 5 posts :)

Spirael I looked at that pram in green - tis very lovely and very similar to the herbie. Glad to hear/read that Mindy is gaining weight. Corey isn't quite at 11lbs yet at 10wks!

LooL00 - your hv sounds very patronizing!! Babies have their own pace of weight gain and I don't think theres a lot we can do other than feed feed feed!! :)

Nina sorry to hear about the exczema, dd had it when she was tiny and you're right it does smell awful - unlike the nystatin...I think it smells lovely :). Hope the constipation is easing now your lo is back on Aptamil

ACTIVITIES - I'm planning on going to my local surestart centre for baby club, baby massage and stay and play groups. It's completely free and it stays open during school holidays so I can take my older children along.

So how is everyone? I'm trying to take advantage of the sunshine taking ds2 out for walks in his pram and as a result I'm behind on the putting away part of the laundry, it's all washed and folded, just not sorted and in drawers. So thats the plan for tomorrow because we literally have to go hunting for our outfits Blush. It's high time I used this maternity leave to do something!!

Take Care everyone xxxx

Sorry Whatshesaid - no idea how I missed your post.

I agree the baby groups are more for mums than babies but it's a good thing in my opinion. Being a mum can be lonely and it's nice to get some adult conversation. :)

Very glad your instincts were right on the mark and your little girl is doing much better :)

Hi
hope I'm not to late to join.

DD was born on the 31st July after 1hr 30mins weighing 7lb 15oz.

I've not found the time or energy to go to baby groups yet (also have an active 3yr old ds) hope to get out soon though.

Dylthan · 17/09/2010 15:11

That sounds like I've been living as a hermit and not left the house in 7 weeks!

I have been out just not with new mums (smile)

CherryPie3 · 18/09/2010 10:12

Hi there Dylthan - it's definitely not too late to join although as you can see it isn't a very busy thread.

I only get on here maybe once a fortnight.

Congratulations on you dd - what a speedy labour!! I know what you mean about having no energy to get out and about - I have 3 school runs a day to do and with and feeding Corey - it doesn't leave much time for anything else at all, which is why I'm behind with the washing and housework!!

Dh doesn't understand how busy I can be in a day because all he see's when he comes home is a messy living room full of baby supplies and toys - we also have a baby gym out for Corey too which takes up a fair amount of room...

Anyhow, I shan't rant just now - I'll save it for another day :)

Take Care xxx

Marking place for when it's a more sensible time to post.

Hope it's not too late for me to join too (had DD on 27th July)

CakeandRoses · 20/09/2010 12:38

Hello again. DD is sleeping peacefully next to me and DS (nearly 2) is at nursery so I have some time to mumsnet myself Grin

On the pram front: we have a Baby Jogger Mini City Twin which we use for both DCs and a Mamas and Papas Pliko Pramette (DS's old pram) which I use when I'm just out with DD. I LOVE the Baby Jogger - it's a side by side but narrow enough to fit thru all doorways we've come across. It's light too and is amazing to steer (easier than all other prams I've ever tried.)

whatshesaid sorry to hear about your DD's silent reflux - I believe my DD has it too (DS had the non-silent kind which was far messier!)

We've been trying to prevent it (giving her a dummy, addressing my over-active let-down, never lying her flat after feeds) rather than treat it and so far it's improved lots. She's always slept well at night so maybe it's not as bad as your DDs (although I've read that some silent reflux babies do sleep well - not sure why).

Hope your DD feels lots better soon.

nina DS had eczema and the ONLY thing we found worked (we tried lots of different things) was a combo of Aveeno cream (on prescription) all over to keep him moisturised and Pure Potion skin salvation on any broken or very dry skin. This treatment has cleared it up completely, if DH we slack on using either of them then it comes back so we know he didn't just grow out of it. We also only bath him 1 -2 times a week and only use Aveeno bath oil to wash him with.

ninaandbean · 20/09/2010 18:38

hello cake thanks for the tip. The moisturiser the doc prescribed has made a huge diff already, he seems much better thank goodness. I still miss baths tho... but its a small thing really.

I'm celerating my 2 year wedding anniversary today with DH, he just gave me a card thanking me for our beautiful DS and telling me that he loves us enormously :) feel all choked up! happy days

CakeandRoses · 20/09/2010 22:52

Happy anniversary! your dh sounds lovely Smile
