Aww. Well, it's hard to get tme to do these things, I have often thought I'd complain/send chocs. I never seem to make it happen.

Have bought dd1's birthday pressi! Yay. We never spend much as the party always seems to be the thing, but she spotted this and sadi she hoped she might get one. When I saw the price I dashed off upstairs to laptop and ordered asap! Grin
Some great bargains if you really hunt, if anyone is thinking of Christmas, or dare I say....2nd birthdays!!

Spent £30 to get free delvery, bought 3 puppy the in my pocket pen thingie and a couple of boys things - to cover a few birthday parties that I hope against hope she gets invited too. Will gve dd1 a pen for birthday too.

Tpday someone sent dd2 a present as they heard she had been ill. Someone online. I love people.

treedelivery · 09/09/2010 23:03

Today, and apologies for all other typos.

Just started crying! Shock Was thinking about how tired I was and how worried about work, and how I just want to be home and not stressing about anything but my girls. I normally only cry when I'm angry so am really Shock

missjackson · 10/09/2010 09:27

Haven't caught up but had to share allegedly perfect brownie recipe here - it's from that guardian series where they take the major recipes (slater, nigella, leith in this case) and then create the ultimate recipe... 120 and other brownie fans, we must try!

missjackson · 10/09/2010 09:28

tree sounds like brownies are just what you need. You sound utterly knackered and I hope the work stress gets resolved - I know even something small can eat away at your sense of well being and stop you being able to relax at home. Hugs and brownies, definitely Smile

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 10/09/2010 10:36

treedelivery · 10/09/2010 11:23

Thanks missj. Trying not to worry today. Am hoping the rain clears too, I need to go to town. DD2 shoes are too small, and whilst now is a disaster of a time to be buying shoes - I can't ignore it. Hey ho.

tinkhasboughtoutalltheshops · 10/09/2010 11:47

good luck tree with dhoes Grin

i got bracken rocket and happyland double decker

moosemama · 10/09/2010 13:58

Oh Tree, I am so sorry I disappeared last night right before you posted. I suddenly realised I hadn't typed the covering letter for ds1's referral or updated his food diary for this morning's appointment.

You must be utterly exhausted. Hope you manage to get some downtime today. Its horrible when work worries start leaching into your homelife. Why can't employers ever get that for most people work is just somewhere they go to earn the money to pay for their real life, not somewhere they would ever choose to be if it they didn't get paid for it.

I bought dd2's first pair of shoes a couple of weeks ago on the Startright website. They were in the sale for about £14 I think. To be honest, I don't really like them all that much - a bit too pink and white for my liking, but dd loves them.

Well, as predicted, the dietician was absolutely useless. She knew less than I did and basically just flung a load of gluten free manufacturers leaflets at me, along with some pages she had printed off CoeliacUK. She also suggested a further 8 week gluten free period, along with suggesting we give him ReadyBrek because its fortified with iron. Hmm Not a great time to try an exclusion diet, when he has constant anxiety related IBS, diarrhea and reflux, which kinda muddies the clinical picture somewhat. I ended up just playing dumb, nodding and smiling and resolving to wait and see what the paed has to say before we do anything else.

I have ds2 off sick today. Only seven days into term and he has a temperature, headache, stomach ache and he threw up in the car on the way back from dropping ds1 and I at the hospital. (At least dh had to clean it up rather than me. Grin) He has been esconsced in his bed all day with a bottle of water and a sick bowl, watching endless dvds. Doesn't seem to bad in himself, so am hoping it will only be 24 hr thing. Unfortunately dd was sitting right next to him in the car when he threw up - so she could well be next. Hmm

treedelivery · 10/09/2010 14:39

Well done Tink - what are these you are buying for? Is it her birthday?

Hi Moose. Good to see the consultation had no surprises Grin.
I mght disagree [although I dount it] if ds1 has an issue with gluten, it might be the ideal time to exclude. The gluten might be adding to his general feeling of not being well, not right, not comfy in his skin. I only say this as when dd1 is up the spout poo wise [

moosemama · 10/09/2010 14:51

Hmm, that's food for thought - thanks Tree. I was just thinking that the Paed might want to go for further clinical testing (endoscopy/gastrophy and or gut sampling) as these would be the logical next step and for that he needs to be regularly consuming gluten. He is on a low gluten diet as it is a the moment - gluten free bread, pasta, pastry etc but with the odd biscuit or treat thrown in and no label reading or excluding malt vinegar etc.

I had a total meltdown at lunch time to dh and decided I wanted to stop everything, call off all the medics/psychs/dieticians/school intervention etc and just let the poor boy be. We talked for a long time and went around in circles a couple of times, before admitting to ourselves that we have done the right thing and we now have to see what happens. What will be, will be I guess. Sad

I do worry about you Tree, I so get where you are with the anxiety and parental guilt, and money stuff etc etc etc. In fact, sometimes I think you could be me! Grin Take care of yourself matey, cos lord only knows if you don't nobody else will either! Wink

Ds2 is absolutely no allowed to share. Its VANFEST this weekend! Grin

Right, I have to go transfer a sleeping dd into her pushchair, then peel vomit-boy out of his bed and drag him up to the school to fetch his big brother. Its days like today that I appreciate living across the road from the school.

moosemama · 10/09/2010 14:52

Ooops! That should have read. Absolutely 'not' allowed to share. Blush

teaandcakeplease · 10/09/2010 17:08

Feeling rather unwell this afternoon, headache and sick. Struggling through cooking DCs dinner at the mo. If I can make it through to their bedtime before I collapse, I'll feel I've achieved something. Tried laying on the bed earlier whilst they watched CBeebies but DS kept climbing into my bed and jumping on me Hmm

moosemama · 10/09/2010 17:18

Grin Dd has just been making a valiant attempt at singing the theme tune to Bob the Builder. Unfortunately, she keeps getting her words in a tangle and is currenlty walking round and round the living room shouting "Buuuuu ger! Buuuuu ger!" Hmm Grin Hope the neighbours aren't listening. Grin

moosemama · 10/09/2010 17:22

Sorry, Tea got distracted by ds1 halfway through typing my post.

There seem to be a lot of headache, stomachy, sickness things around at the moment. Ds2 wasn't the only green-gilled child in the playground to collect their brothers and sisters this afternoon.

Hope you manage to make it through the dc's bedtime ok so you can get some rest.

PatTheHammer · 10/09/2010 17:49

Sorry, crap catch-up but I have had a read and am thinking of everybody.

Dog- hope the waiting isn't getting too annoying, you must barely have time to think about it with the other 3 but I bet its still horrible.

Sympathising with all the tantrums from little ones and older DD's. Think everyone will remember how my DD was (and still can be sometimes) a complete monster. She has howvere been a little treasure this week and although its early days I think school is most definitely helping.

DS on the other hand has lost all notion of social skills during his time off at nursery and is cotinuing his 'screech and bite mummy' or 'throw things and push people' mode of coping with frustration.

Hope it all gets better at the weekend, it hasn't come quick enough for me, what a bloody week! Don't think I am going to be around much; work and home just all consuming at the moment.
Take care all x

treedelivery · 10/09/2010 23:38

Evening.

Off to bed actually, but wanted to say hello. I really hope the tea and Moose households are feeling better, and that you are too Pat. Don't forget we are here if you need to offload.

chefswife · 11/09/2010 07:58

Bookmarking

I also wanted to add, my family is so awesome! I love them so much. Grin More tomorrow when everyone leaves and DH goes to work, but really, I am very blessed.

teaandcakeplease · 11/09/2010 09:35

D Day with MIL today. Send me positive vibes ladies

moosemama · 11/09/2010 10:07

Pat, it sounds like its been tough going at your end. Hope you get some time to recuperate this weekend.

Tea, am sending lots and lots of positive vibes. Smile

Chef, I am intrigued. Grin

Well, ds2 spent most of the night throwing up and despite having a sick bowl right next to him, managed to cover just about everything withing a 3 foot radius of his bed. Hmm

So, as you can tell, we are not at Vanfest. Which is not such a bad thing, judging by the torrential rain. We still have tentative plans to go tomorrow if ds2 is feeling a lot better, but I have a feeling we will end up missing it this year.

Instead we are having a quiet day. Ds2 is in bed with a dvd on and baby monitor set up so that he can call whenever he needs us. Ds1 is still in his pj's reading a steady stream of old Nintendo magazines. Dd is tucking herself and her cuddlies up on the sofa with a blanket and singing "Row, row, row your boat ... crocodile ... scream .... AAAAAAAAAGH!" and intermittently hitting ds1 over the head then kissing him better! Grin I have been sitting with a cup of coffee and read the stack of yummy catalogues that have accumulated over the past couple of weeks and dh has made the breakfast, done the washing up and is currently shaving his head. Hmm Grin

Actually, its just what we need after the week we've had. Although I am finding it hard to sit still, having been on turbo-power all week. I just can't seem to shut down these days, which is most unlike me.

Anyhoo, hope everyone else is having nice relaxing weekends. I might pop back later and see in anyone is about.

treedelivery · 11/09/2010 11:13

Morning all.

Moose - yuk to the vomitfest. But enjoy a free pass to lounge and chill.
I slept till 09.30 Smile dd2 was a little one last night, up loads and hard to settle. She is collapsed on my chest now, dh took dd1 to her ballet. Hopin for energy surge Hmm to shower and do my hair, and town for dd2 feet measuring.

want to go to York to Gap, I have a 30% off voucher. But a) zero funds and b) zero funds and c) it's a 3 hour round trip involving travel sickness.

chef - sounds good! You are either having a lovely time hanging out, or that plus they have given you a house and 10 years fee babysitting? Either way, yay!

hackneyzoo · 11/09/2010 17:41

Happy Saturday everyone. Just back from an epic walk in Epping Forest and bookmarking for later.

moosemama · 11/09/2010 17:47

So laydeez - I have an AIBU question for you ...

Opinions please. Am I being oversensitive?

I posted this morning on the SN board about how the secondary school our primary feeds into has just been awarded Academy status (found out today) - as has our second choice! Hmm

Another member of the board has cut and pasted my post into a thread on the main primary education board. She hasn't used my name, and is using the post to demonstrate the problems with Academies and SEN admissions, but I am somewhat irked that someone would cut and paste my entire post without consulting me first.

I was so shocked when I came across my post on a thread I hadn't posted on iyswim and instantly went to complain and have it removed, but then stopped myself.

Am I just being oversensitive about it, or am I right to be miffed?

hackneyzoo · 11/09/2010 17:55

Moose, I'd be annoyed that somebody hadn't asked, has she quoted you,i.e. Moose wrote this on the SEN board ..?

I'd maybe post on the original thread what you've said here, something along the lines of " I was a bit miffed to find my post from earlier cut and pasted on the Primary Schools section." It is a bit of an odd thing to do. Or you could take it as flattering, that the poster who did this was not eloquent enough to express herself with the clarity and precision of your post, so she gave up trying and cut and pasted.

You are not being oversensitive, it is annoying, but I guess it's also one of those things that happens when you post on tinternet and is not worth worrying about.

moosemama · 11/09/2010 18:04

No she didn't quote me, so its still anonymous, unless someone searches the sn boards, as she did say it came from their this morning.

You are right though, it isn't worth worrying about. Its just such an emotive topic for me at the moment. I need to grow a thicker skin. Grin

hackneyzoo · 11/09/2010 18:09

I think that's why its such an odd thing to do, as it's an emotive topic for you and for others posting on SN or with worries regarding academies and SEN intake. Definitely a compliment (in a weird sort of way) as you obviously got the point across well. Smile

On a different note, my children are filthy and need washing, so I had better carry out that joyous task.
