Pom-poms out and shaka shaking!!!! Good luck DOG, get that pool fillin. x

Oh Moose. Sad for this stress for you. How about taking him on lots of swimming trips? Do like we all do with starting school, the dry run. Go tto the pool, have a look. Go again in a few days, check out the changing room. Then another visit and have a swim. Then another swim and gove him some autonomy getting changed.....and so on. It would be a military operation needed oodles of childcare and probably taxi there and back. If it helps a bit though......might be worth a shot?

My mum takes H and J together. No idea how.

Super dooper news about the part time staff member. Her good vibes will spread to the other, and do ds the world of good.

We went to beach. Am exhausted now. Treated Dh to a burger and fries and we both had half a larger in a nice bar that has opened down there. WOOOOooooOOOOO. Kind of place totally took for granted in the city and in more up to date places, but s treated as some sort of new frontier here, because it has glass frontage and leather couches GrinSpent £20 could ill afford [dd1 had kids fish and chips and I had bowl of chips] but I think we needed it tbh.

You MUST keep us updated DOG!!

Little nephew isn't doing as well today, although he's breathing unassisted it's a lot more irregular than it has been. He's also not been digesting food well and the stuff that's come up from his stomach suggests his digestion is really dodgy so they have had to put another line in to give him glucose and stuff and have ceased feeding by mouth. Both Rich and Donna felt peaceful yesterday but it's very distressing having seen him open his eyes last night and seem so well and then today to see him back under the special lamp and with another line going in Sad

No no name, I think my brother is afraid to name him until bigger and stronger, I don't think he can see past how poorly he is right now to brighter days with him. IYSWIM?

missjackson · 03/09/2010 19:44

How exciting! Go dog go! And you got a massive write up in the talk roundup today. Have you decided on a name yet? I like your confidence in my name-giving abilities, given the fact I only have one! N is short for Aneurin by the way.

Ooooh, I so hope it all goes well for you!

Just got back from 3 hr trek down the M4 home. Knackered.

tea fingers crossed for your little nephew. Cute photo on fb. It must be really hard, but they sound like a strong family.

tree beach sounds like fun and woo-hoo for trendy city bar.

Loving all the party ideas - Lenni, you can come and organise mine in a couple of years, you sound like ultimate party planner.

My brother has developed a digital graffiti wall that trendy people like microsoft and google use for events, so N can have that at his party once he's about 4 - about 12k worth of entertainment, but hey, he's my pfb. Grin

Yey, it's the weekend.

hackneyzoo · 03/09/2010 19:57

Whoooooo Dog.....how exciting....keep posting! Do you think the shock of your impromptu exposure helped get things going? Wink It could be a new method of getting labour started, maybe I iwll try it in Jan.

Moose, sounds promising that at least one of his teachers seems switched on and understanding, hope his other one is too.

Lenni, how is Ds' bruise? Hope he's ok today. Jude seems to bang his head at least 5 times a day (its very large!) and as soon as one bruise is ealed another appears.

Tree, beach sounds lovely. Am longing for the sea again. Are both DDs on the mend now? Good luck with the birthday party... could you do a movie afternoon/night sort of thing at home, a sort of mini pyjama party without them staying over? And do some fun stuff like decorate cakes, treasure hunt, pop corn and movie, make pizzas etc..

Tea, sorry LO isn't doing so well today. He is in my thoughts and lots of positive vibes are being sent in his direction

Haven't read through properly, DD decided to get ill last night (she must ave sensed my return to work today!) and spent all night wheezing and coughing and waking. Her breathing was awful SO went to work knackered. DH took her to GP who said it was nothing to worry about. She has perked up this evening after a steamy bath and calpol and now is not in the slightest bit sleepy.

MissJ and so happy at your lovely news and anew little girl on the thread to look forward to. It was lovely meeting up with you and 120 and chasing our boys and girls around. Hope you got back ok today.

120 Thanks for the big bag of maternity clothes, can you thank M for me please? Or text me her no. so I can say thanks! Are you up for tea round here next thurs?

Stripey Shock at flaming laptop! Did you do something to upset it? How is C getting on with week 2 of nursery?

I can smell burning rice...I am so crap at cooking rice, we used to have a rice cooker...how I miss it..

treedelivery · 03/09/2010 20:20

Aww Tea. Remember, it's a rocky road that he has to travel. There will be good days and less good. Focus on all the positives - 32 weeks, not intubated, not significantly infected...the milk digestion and jaundice is all nursing stuff that will need tweaking and is also stuff he will get better at as he matures Smile

Moose, did I say I am glad your sister was brave and went along, and got some enccouraging feedback? I hope I did, I thought it!

My laptop made more of a pop and smoked, it must have been scary. I must stop leaving mine on, and on the bed - whole house could go up! Shock Hope you get sorted.

HKZ - I can't cook rice either. I'm really bad at it. Gload your dd is feeling better. She can join mne in late nght romps as there is no sign of settlement here.
Party ideas a plenty, I am fairly game and enjoy the organising - it's the numbers and who to invite I am stressing about! Am such a numpty....dd says everyone is being happy and kind at school. So that is encouraging!

MissJ - have a relaxing eve after the mega drive.

teaandcakeplease · 03/09/2010 20:26

My best results with rice are 1 cup of rice to 2 cups of water, and when it begins to boil I turn it down to a gentle simmer on a small gas ring and leave it alone for the 10 mins. Turns out ok, thanks to mums tips. Is my way unusual though or strange?

treedelivery · 03/09/2010 20:34

That's how dh does it too, tea. I use the ready cooked stuff. Blush There is one by Tilda [I think] that is butternut squash and brown rice and it's lovely.

moosemama · 03/09/2010 20:40

Just read, then instantly forgot all except Dog and Tea's posts, so apologies in advance to anyone I miss.

Dog, I have pom poms at the ready - here's hoping this is it. Are you going to do a real-time birthing thread?

Tea, sorry to hear your nephew isn't doing as well today. As Tree (and I think HKZ) said, I guess its just a case of taking each day as it comes, as there will be progress and set-backs along the way, but he will come through it, he has so many people rooting for him - so much love and healing flowing his way.

Dd has been sitting here singing Incy Wincy Spider (complete with very extravagant hand signals) all evening and every time we get to the end she does her new trick of saying "AAAAAgain!" and off we go again. Tis very cute, but also very wearing. I blame the boys for putting the Teletubbies on for her earlier this week. Hmm

She also went and fetched her own pjs and asked to put them on this evening - mind you she then stripped off and ran around nekked for the next half hour rather than actually putting them on. Hmm but Grin

Tree, glad you made it to the beach and had a good time. You were all long overdue for a nice treat.

teaandcakeplease · 04/09/2010 08:46

Sorry no progress DOG Sad

PatTheHammer · 04/09/2010 09:09

Hello Dog and Tea,

Tea, glad everything still going ok with your nephew, even small progress is good at this stage, even if you feel like there are backward steps sometimes.

Dog- phew, nearly missed the pup being born! hopefully today for you then, although could be a weekShock. Did you have long latent stages with your other 3?

MissJ- SUCH great news!!!Grin. Relieved all ok and how great that you have a baby girl to look forward to (no more tractors and trains, hurrah!). DD was actually correct for once too!

Moose- sorry about the school and swimming probs for DS.

Start of term manic, work is like a whirlwind that I cannot seem to calm down and DH's back has gone again (gp thinks its all due to a prolapsed disc...............great!) so he is not able to do anything at home or anything with the children which involves picking them up or bending down so i am somewhat knackered. my parents have come up till tuesday to help out, mum looks a LOT better and she is feeling good.

Thanks for message about DD's first day. As you all predicted she was like a duck to water and was runing up the alley-way on thursday morning, so excited to FINALLY be allowed to go!Grin
Z was sad to leave her and performed a bit but then when he got home and realised that he could watch his Thomas DVD uniterrupted I thought he looked quite relieved!
So pleased that my day off is a thursda and I was able to take her and pick her up, now the madness to who does what on which day starts now, giving me a massive headacheConfused
Just done my first uniform wash of millions to come and we have her reading log to fill in at home. Its all still exciting but I am sure the novelty (for me! will wear off soon.

Waves to HKZ, Lenni, Tink, Stripey, 120 and all.Back when i can manage 5 minsSmile

120 · 04/09/2010 09:34

Pat, glad it all went well- hope mine takes to it like that! My mum still goes on about how sad she was for me to start school (and then remembers how much fun she had with just one kid to look after)!

Got another viewing today so fingers crossed.

120 · 04/09/2010 10:05

HZ have thanked her for you!
