Hi lenni, 120's DCs have this bed with te canopy so she'll know.

Texted my friend and she replied, they got to see thier perfect little girl and name her, but she sounds desperately sad. So am just going to be here if she needs me, can imagine it not helping her seeing me pg. It has also made me super nervous about next tuesday's scan.

Jude is in GOSH next week for another MRI so it will be a week of hospitals, rounded off nicely by going back to work!

There is no Dog news on FB.... its getting quite exciting, am looking forward to news of the latest thread baby.

Does anyone have a dd with size 7 feet? I have these unused as DD had a pair but there was a fault with them after about 6 weeks of use, they sent replacements, but she has worn sandals all summer and now they are too small...they are for free if anyone would like them...

hackneyzoo · 28/08/2010 21:48

x posts Dog!

Maybe have a bath and try and get some sleep...it sounds like you might be needing your energy reserves very soon.
With DS is was twingy and restless on and off for a few days before labour. Have you got one of those birthing ball tings? That helped me with the aches.

teaandcakeplease · 29/08/2010 09:54

So sad to hear about your friend HKZ Sad That must be so heart breaking for them. Agree with advice already given.

My DD has size 7 feet at the moment.

Glad the party was good Tink. Have a great day shopping and eating Grin

DOG - I have a love/ hate relationship with my twin, I sympathise as I can relate to what you describe. Hope you're feeling a bit better today x

Lenni - I have this fear of spiders crawling over me or my kids when sleeping, so I could never buy a bed like that for my DCs Blush LOL, It looks great though, especially the tent.

hackneyzoo · 29/08/2010 10:52

Tea, you are welcome to the shoes, they come up quite wide but are perfect for autumn. If you'd like them cat me your address or fb it and I will stick 'em in the post next week.

Have fun shopping Tink.

Dog, hope you are feeling better. My brother and I are always completely spiky with each other. Where is your sis emigrating to? Agree wit you about the baths, I am a 3 a day girl in the third trimester.

Off to see my Dad in Suffolk for lunch and to pick up the dog from his friend's farm, so better get a shift on.

Lenni · 29/08/2010 11:13

Dog - you know you have to check in every day here on on FB otherwise I'll go thinking you are in labour! Grin

Tea - I have that exact same phobia, but never thought about it with the bed. It actually happened to me when pg with DS and I sobbed in the room for about half an hour. DH thought I was mad.

teaandcakeplease · 29/08/2010 15:09

I'm starting to think if I'm ever going to get out with my 2 DC this Autumn, I need to scrape together some pennies and buy them these any advice for me on where to buy from?

PatTheHammer · 29/08/2010 15:58

Woah, this had disappeared from my threads with all the chit-chat, thought Dog had gone into labour or summatWink

Whilst I am here could I just have a moment to mention the lovliness of 3 of the thread members:

Tea- Thankyou so much for the book, so very kind of you, I am so grateful xx

Lenni and MissJ- Thank you so much for listening to all my moaning the other night, it was so helpful to talk to both of you. And of course thanks to MissJ for your hospitality, great to meet your lovely family and hang out in such a beautiful part of the world. i won't say much more or they will all want to come and you will run off your feet Grin

thanks to the rest of you too for your support, it has meant a lot.

Hows everyone else? HKZ, see you are back. Looking forward to work next week??? Yup, just as much as me then!

Tink- looked a great party for you DD, hope she enjoys spending her money.

treedelivery · 29/08/2010 18:21

Hello all.

I'm sorry to hear of your friend HKZ. SO so sad.

Everything crossed for the MRI too - all will be well I'm totally certain.

I haven't read properly. I'm glad I didn't post on Friday morning, I nearly did. It would have been an awful post and I wouldn't have been able to update! I got the call from my mum [who had dd2 for a little holiday] we all dread on Friday morn - child in blue light ambulance on the way to a&E. It was dd2 the H-bomb in a very severe seizure and not responding very well. Made the hellish journey to York, it took nearly 2 hours instead of one becasue of traffic.

Anyway, she is ok now. Came home late last night. We think there might be a slight right sided weakness or incordination, but will wait and see. Probably imagining it. It was probably just a febrile convulsion, but about 3 times longer than the normal. And she was very deeply flat after it too.

Into the bargain, dd1 needed an enema for impacted bowels.

So am a bit scttered to be honest, but hanging in there! Smile

teaandcakeplease · 29/08/2010 18:38

Crumbs that's awful Tree Sad I cannot imagine how worried you must have been. Do you know what caused it at all? Sad

120 · 29/08/2010 19:09

Had a catch up and remember next to nothing.

HZ; really sorry to hear about your neighbour. Can't add much to what the others have said. Food gifts the best I think as cards or flowers may be too poignant.

Tree OMG. How is she doing now? What happened?

Moose, sorry to hear you have been in the wars again. I can really recommend life after a good clear out though. I am having problems trying to keep it lovely and tidy, but always appreciate walking in the door when I do.

Pat, Lenni and MJ, super jealous of meet up.

Stripey, sorry to hear about your friend.

Hi to tink and tea... have to run and do bedtime stories.

hackneyzoo · 29/08/2010 20:03

Crikey Tree, how scary. Hope you and H are ok. Has she got a follow up with a Dr to check it out?

Tea have accepted your request. Those waterproof suits are great, my DCs have a cheapo version from the supermarket I think, will try and remember which one!

Pat, hope you are doing ok. Hmmm, friday is looming...I am trying not to start my count down to maternity leave already (not til 4th Jan)....

Must get Dcs to bed, routine has gone out the window at the moment. J just managed to throw himself down the stairs, he seems fine, DH and I nearly had a heart attack. Had nice lunch with my Dad and the dog is back home, so all is well in Hackers.

teaandcakeplease · 29/08/2010 20:10

Little Trekkers have them at £12.99 I've found, whilst scooting about on the internet hunting a bargain Wink

My friend recommended muddypuddles to me but they're expensive on there...

Poor J, I reckon DS would do it if we had stairs in the flat too. Hope all is ok and they go to bed easily

PatTheHammer · 29/08/2010 20:54

Tree- How bloody awful for you my dear, hope all is well now. Was it a high temp that brought the convulsions on? So good that your parents acted quickly and calmly by the sounds of it.

Hi HKZ, I am doing ok thanks. Things are kind of moving slowly but in the right direction really. We both still need time and space away from each other at times but are enjoying lots of family time too. He has been here all weekend and things have gone well with only a few 'iffy' moments. Just feel on hold now realy till the therapy starts properly.
Anyway, whats this friday business..........I bloody go back wednesday!Envy.
So sorry to hear about your friend, I find it really difficult with stuff like that because I just end up feeling really guilty. I think cakes or brownies sound a great idea. I have quite a few 'playground mum-friends' like you describe and sometimes it is difficult to judge the depth of the friendship but when things happen like this I think its nice for people to know that others are thinking of them.
Sorry about J falling too, sounds like a good day though.

120- good hols I trust. Your flat is amazing btw, I had a nose on the link the other week but didn't commentBlush

Stripey- sorry about your news about your friend tooSad

Tea- Z has a 'Regatta' one, its very good. Have you checked ebay?

Forgot to say the other week that my mum has had really positive news and they have diagnosed an auto-immune condition but the damage to her liver is reparable(sp)? and she will not need a transplant, yay! She is improving all the time and able to get out and about now, which is progress. She needs to be monitored monthly as they are worried about developing diabetes amongst other things but still, evrything looking up!

We are off to the festival of the tree at Westonbirt Arboretum tomorrow, sounds very hippy doesn't it.......just off to check the forecast after getting caught in a downpour in Cheltenham today (DD thought it was hilariousGrin)

Moan for today, DD's school labe
ls STILL not bloody here, was hoping to iron them on this weekend but now it will be a last minute thing on wednesday night I expectHmm

treedelivery · 29/08/2010 21:12

They feel it was a febrile convulsion, a complicated one sue to it's length and severity. Havng read the usual descrption it is clear her's was a much bigger seizure, as she back arched clear off the floor and was thrown upright several times with the force. Poor lambkin. My poor mum, I so wish I had been there.

Very glad to hear of your mum Pat

I don't know if I said so stripey - but sorry to hear your sad news of your friend.

HKZ - my advice is to reply to her reply text, but I bet you have anyway. Just to say you think the name is beautiful and you would will remember 'X' always.

moosemama · 29/08/2010 21:36

OMG Tree! I don't know what to say, except how truly terrifying for your Mum and Dad and for you. Hopefully, if she's anything like ds2, dd won't remember a thing about it though.

If they think it was febrile, what are they saying the underlying cause was? Ds2 had a massive one when he came down with pneumonia, but even that wasn't as bad as H's by the sound of it.

Doesn't sound enough, but am sending you a huge ((hug)) and lots of love and light.

Sorry, haven't read much else, just caught Tree's post on my Threads I'm On page and had to come and offer my support.

Did just notice Pat's good news about her Mum though - Pat you definitely deserve some positivity, am so pleased for you and your family. Smile

Crap weekend here, no sorting achieved, but it all pales into insignificance by comparison.

Please keep us updated Tree, am happy for you to CAT me if you need to let it all out but don't want to do it on here. I feel so helpless, but am here for you and if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate, just yell.

hackneyzoo · 29/08/2010 22:23

Pat that's really positive news about your mum, so glad it is repairable damage too. Glad things are moving in the right direction for you and DH too. You just reminded me to order labels for DD, where do you get them from?
Hippy festival sounds good.

Tree, I pretty much replied exactly your words, its so hard to find something to say tat doesn't sound trite or superficial. She sounded so so sad, I wish there was something more i could do.
Poor Hats and how scary for everyone. Hope both your DDs are resting up.

Evening Moose!

I have a totally banal question... I am considering buying a secondhand tumble drier but am a bit clueless. I just can't face another winter with clothes hanging everywhere in my o9use and taking days to dry. Do they use a lot of energy and do they wear out clothes quicker? I have no idea! Can anyone recommend a make and model?

Right, off to watch crap on the telly with my dog!

treedelivery · 29/08/2010 22:26

Bless you Moose and all of you. I was racking my brains about which ds had had a febrile convulsion, I was 99% sure one of yours had had one.

They reckon viral, probably tonsilitis as she said they looked manky. There were concerns about it having developed into secondary viral meningitis, she was so flat out on Friday and the fit was so long.
But by the time they told me this was the worry she was running about with a balloon so I managed to control my urge to run around screaming Sad [hmmm] Grin

I have typed out the whole sorry 24hrs by way of a debrief, bit its massive so can't possibly post it. I'll cat you with it Moose, but only read it in chunks. It's like war and peace!

She really does seem fine now, so that's when the fear sets in isn't it? It's ok when you have something to worry about and hang on to, it's after when they tell you to go home and all is well - then you really crap yourself.

I hope this isn't upsetting to you HKZ, I know you have your worry on a slow rate drip awaiting the all clear, rather than my big bang ambulance run then discharged home in 36hrs. I am mindful that here should be a retreat and not reminder of worry Smile
