So, I just had the worst brazillian waxing incident of all time.

I met a manicurist who assured me she was a great waxer too and did so in her spare time in the privacy of her clients homes. She quoted a ridiculously low price. I jumped at the chance of being hair/care free for a while and made an appt.

so i sit here in pain and agony. wishing i had never met this woman. there is soo much wax and hair stuck in parts of me i once considered sacred. hot water and soap only melts and spreads the wax. baby oil is only making me extra slippery.

i get waxed all the time, this has NEVER happened to me. any words of advice? or am i going to have to go to a professional?

becaroo · 17/09/2010 08:42

oohhh eandz that sounds bad! I would go and see a professional...maybe they can put it right and soothe the pain????

Happy birthday today to T x

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 17/09/2010 09:56

Happy birthday to C (and to T)!!

We have been offered the chance of 2 weeks in Florida in a 4bed, 3 bath villa with pool for £350 a week next Sept.
thing is, I'd quite hope to be pregnant then or maybe even with newborn.
Do we say yes?

eandz · 17/09/2010 10:17

Will see a professional asap.

Aww, happy birthday to C and T how excited you guys must be for the milestone :)

my little N is dancing around to Lady Gaga. He wakes up every morning and says "Gaga" for his morning dance. I don't understand where he got his music taste from, I'm more into empire of the sun and mgmt. b-b-b- blah

Debs75 · 17/09/2010 12:09

Thanks for the nursery tips. There are a few in our area so will start asking around and maybe having a look to see how I rate them. I have worked in a nursery before and agree a high staff turnover usually means management are not nice and that filters through. Unhappy workers are not good childcare providers.

Robyn woke up with a dry nappy todayShock She did a huge wee in her next one tho. We have also noticed that if she has no nappy on she does a 'i need a wee' jiggle. She refuses to sit on the loo or potty yet but i think she knows how to hold a wee so we will have to make sitting on the potty more fun. Would be great to have 1 less set of nappies to change and wash.

CappuccinoCarrie · 17/09/2010 14:37

Happy birthday C&T!!

I'm loving all our long lost friends being back on the thread!

Nurseries - bearing in mind DD hasn't actually started yet, we've gone for one that's a nursery class in a school as it seemed really well set up. The local playgroups expect parents to help which I'd just dread, and the most local private day nursery we just got a bad feeling at. The staff seemed very unmotivated.

eandz really hope your problem gets sorted!!

DS had another massive tantrum this morning, and although he asks his sister nice for things with "please my turn", when she asks back he shouts "NO" and pushes her away. Clearly need to work on sharing a bit better!

DD has another cold that's gone straight to her chest and she's back on the inhalers. Yesterday was gym club and back to back playdates and she could barely breathe by bedtime, so today I've snuggled her onto the sofa with a blanket and a lot of tv for some enforced rest. She's fine in herself and was even disappointed I wouldn't let her cycle to the docs this morning!

DebiTheScot · 17/09/2010 19:48

ouch ouch ouch eandz and welcome back. Where have you been? Are your sisters living with you for the whole time they're at uni? Who's idea was it for them to live with you?

Happy birthday C and T. MrsA I loved the peppa and george photo on fb.

And MrsA you are not the only one with a strong willed tantruming toddler. We've got 1 too. He can be lovely and cute and very funny and he can he horrible and noisy!
And don't worry about what other people think- you are putting reins on your daughter to keep her safe and let her exercise. How can that be bad?

Wow debs at Robyn's dry nappy. After a whole week of ds1 being dry at night I took the 2 packs of nappies I'd bought back to tesco and swpped for ds1 size. Then that night he was wet twice and twice again the following night. We hope it's because he's sleeping so soundly as he's tired from starting school, have put him back in nappies for a few weeks until he's used to being at school then we'll try again.

ninja · 17/09/2010 22:25

MrsA - she'll play at one thing for mins Envy

Honestly I think that's normal (unless it's playdoh)

hang on.....I pop by to bookmark and witter on about my pesky children and eandz is back.... and talking about bikini waxing Grin. Yay! Good to see you again! Did she use hard wax or something sugary? I've not experienced a wax that wouldn't wash off Confused.

DD has her 2yr check on monday, rather insisted on by me as she is a bit of a chubstix so I want a 'professional' to weigh and measure her as I think my measurements were a bit wonky.

Must go to bed actually, I have the paper to read... and a GU lemon cheesecake pud to eat.

Happy birthday to all the small people who are turning 2 Smile.

Debs75 · 19/09/2010 20:08

Robyn has had a lovely birthday. She started it off with a snotty cold which she has passed onto all of us. Luckily were not too bad were just coughing and all want an early night.
She got a Happyland playset and loads of Toy Story toys.

Shes a bit surprised by all the gifts, I don't think she gets birthdays at all. DS did as he was trying to steal her gifts.
We had a lonely day as family stayed away due to colds but she finished it off with doing a wee on her potty after bathtime. She just sat down all happy and quiet and told us 'wee'. Up until now her potty was something to put her toys in.

Kagey · 19/09/2010 21:47

Erin had her 2nd birthday yesterday and was thoroughly spoilt. I will try and post a newer picture on my profile tomorrow. We did 2 parties for her, one for baby mates in the morning and then family/friends in the afternoon. Exhausting but fun!

Happy (belated) birthday little ones!!!

Meglet · 20/09/2010 08:35

bookmarking.

DD has her HV visit today, so I've just had a quick tidy and hidden the crack den and fruitshoots in the shed Wink. I hope the dc's don't start squabbling about something daft while she is here Confused.

Better sort breakfast out!

Meglet · 20/09/2010 11:25

..... it seems HV's have better scales that I do. DD isn't on the top percentile and about to be overweight after all, she is neatly on the 50th Blush.

Minor squabbles & huffs from both dc's while HV was here although DS scored major points for talking about the library and DD sat on my lap nicely and built a tower (sort of).

DastardlyandSmugly · 20/09/2010 11:30

Pirate week at nursery this week so DD has gone off in stripey pirate top with stripey leggings, pirate headband, wrist band and skull and cross bones necklace. She looks very cute but not sure how I'm going to sustain a week of pirate clothing!

ninja · 20/09/2010 12:01

wow - I'd love to get some fancy gress clothers for M.She's starting to get very picky about what she wears (basically has to be spotty, stripey or have Hello Kitty on it Blush!) Fancy dress might be preferable

OP posts:
DastardlyandSmugly · 20/09/2010 13:46

Oh DD is a nightmare and pretty much always wants to wear jeans/shorts, a t-shirt and a cardigan (she has to have a cardigan on even on the hottest day).

Although she does seem to like fancy dress.

She went to a pirate and fairy party last week and she let me put her in stripey leggings, a tutu, a Debbie Harry t-shirt, s crown headband, various jewellery and fairy wings.

Her outfit today is a combination of a pirate costume of DS's and her own stripey leggings. I bought her the bits of jewellery so she wouldn't look too boyish.

She likes Hello Kitty too though but her favourite thing, and she'd wear them every day if she could, are her Peppa Pig pjs which she has gone out in before (with a cardigan of course).

We have a lot of dressing up as DS loves it. Ebay is a great place to get costumes.

DastardlyandSmugly · 20/09/2010 13:52

Forgot she has priate tattoos too as we have the best fake tattoo kit. I probably like the dressing up more than they do Grin

Debs75 · 20/09/2010 14:06

I wish Robyn loved lothes as much. Her preferred oufit is just a nappy, with an occasional t-shirt which has to be peppa pig or toy story.
Poor thing has been left with a sore throat and sounds very croaky. Luckily the flow of snot (sorry) has slowed and she is just a bit crusty.
Got to go off to Chemists and get her more calpol.

CappuccinoCarrie · 20/09/2010 14:16

Thankfully DS doesn't have opinions about what to wear yet (although if he sees a digger/train/tractor item of clothing he'll want it) but basically we get clothes out and he wears them! He has opionions about a lot of other things though and isn't afraid to share them. He always used to be so obedient....then he stopped doing what he was asked, and now he says and outright 'no'! Still very cute though :)

DastardlyandSmugly · 20/09/2010 14:22

Oh she also loves being rudey nudey and will frequently take all her clothes off and just wander round in the nude. She has opinions about pretty much everything!

Poor Robyn. Hope she's feeling better soon.

DebiTheScot · 20/09/2010 16:05

Neither of mine are too fussed about what they wear either. Although they would chose the tshirt with Thomas, pingu or a vehicle on it over a plain one. DS1 does prefer shorts to trousers though, he's the only boy in reception wearing shorts at the moment.

I bought some new digital scales the other day and keep meaning to weigh the boys properly. Did it the other day with them fully clothed and ds1 was exactly 3 stone and ds2 exactly 2 stone.

My nice neighbour has just been round to cut our hedge. He did his side and just offered to do ours too. So he cut while me and his wife had a blether and picked the bits up.

Kagey · 20/09/2010 16:07

Updated photo on my profile from E's 2nd birthday, wearing her minnie mouse dress.

At nursery she likes dressing up and I often have to try and wrestle off a fairy outfit rom her at home time.

DastardlyandSmugly · 20/09/2010 16:21

Kagey so cute. At her party DD had on a gorgeous ladybird dress but DH didn't take any pics until after she'd gone upstairs and sneaked on shorts and a t-shirt when we weren't looking!

ninja · 20/09/2010 21:36

Yes M likes undressing and recently dressing herself. She's not bad for her age, and does better thsn her father!!

becaroo · 21/09/2010 08:44

Hi everyone.

Toby has a stinking cold too Sad hopefully he will feel better by his b day on saturday.

Neither of mine care what they wear really....ds1 is getting a bit more fussy..he hates buttoned shirts for example, but I basically leave his stuff on the bed in the morning (pants, socks, vest, jeans/joggers and top) and he puts them on! I dress toby but I pick his clothes too.

I have got toby a shirt which says "I am 2" for his party Smile

2!!!! Cant believe it!

In other news, did not start my new job! Long story, but basically they rang me 2 days before I was due to start and changed the location to somewhere I wasnt prepared to travel too so I told them to stuff it (in a nice way!) Its strange, I'm not really bothered Hmm I was so excited to get offered the job and now I am glad I'm not working! Hmm Just so busy up to xmas with the boys, HE stuff, beavers etc.....also my mum being a PITA so am really glad I am not relying on her for childcare 1 afternoon a week now.

Am also starting karate lessons next week!! Broken pelvis here we come!
