Never thought I'd hear myself say those words but Mr LD has done something constructive for once. He was on Today this morning talking about the BSF fiasco and this was on the BBC news site:

"Conservative backbencher Ian Liddell-Grainger - who has three schools in his constituency with building work scrapped - threatened to march on Downing Street.

He said he would, if necessary, protest with headteachers and pupils in tow to try to get the decision reversed."

DS#1 will be there!

We've just found out our surestart may not get its goverment funding this year meaning that to keep the playgroup section open they will have to charge 'private prices' meaning £20 rather than £5!

They can't legally shut it down so i think they are just trying to force it shut that way

I don't suppose it will make any difference- but it's so nice to feel our MP is on our side this time

Glad he is standing up for his beliefs. Gotta love backbenchers of all parties for getting their hands dirty.

Several shithole schools in my area will now remain shitholes. Such a shame. I already despise Gove.

I'm sure he'll be most gratified to hear that raven. He spoke to me once in the High Street - he was most charming even when I told him I would never vote Tory.

When I ran a pub in the backend of nowhere, the local Tory chap used to hold his confabs in our lounge bar & was unfailingly courteous despite early on making the error of asking if I'd be voting for him...
