What do you think about Boris' new plans to take more power into the London Administration? Even Ken 'agrees with all the points' (London Tonight 15.6.10). Maybe we could even become a 'City State' - just joking.

I am instinctively in favour of pushing power down as far as possible towards the people, so I welcome this.

My biggest worry is that is that at the moment people don't know which organisation is responsible for what public function.

When there are roadworks, when do you blame the council, and when do you blame Boris?

Are police funded by councils, the GLA, or the central Government?

Basically if the Tories and Lib Dems are genuine about localism and decentralisation, and I really hope that they are, then they need to be much clearer on the role, responsibilities and remit of all elected (and for that matter, unelected) officials.
