Anyone but Balls 1

Anyone but Balls 2

Nick Cohen has a very low opinion of Ed Balls and both articles give an interesting perspective on the Labour party.

The premise of the first article is all a bit muddled though. Yes I agree that the abolition of grammar schools was a Bad Thing, and that the said abolition has entrenched privilege in the hands of the wealthy in a way which is entirely unhealthy.

BUT the leap from that to Anyone but Balls on the basis that Balls went to a public school is a bit tenuous, no?

I agree - I don't know why he didn't include the bit about Ed Balls dad campaigning to close grammar schools - maybe he meant to and forgot . Some of the comments are pretty good.

I do wonder what he will find to write in the next installments.

And the comments on the second article seem to be from Ed Balls' (Tory) supporters .
