So its not just going to be the Miliband show.

We now have 5 prospective leaders (Dianne Abbott, Ed Balls, Andy Burnham, David Miliband, Ed Miliband)

Who would get your vote?

Dianne Abbott did a good job announcing her bid on the Today programme. The race has certainly got more interesting .

John McDonnell is running, too.

I am just listening to what they have to say.

I wish Jon Cruddas or Margaret Hodge was running. The campaign in Barking and Dagenham was very impressive.

I am not necessarily a Labour supporter but quite glad to see Diane Abbot standing.

If Labour want to 'reach out to the people' then I think Diane Abbot has a better chance than most.

I'm really pleased Diane Abbott and John McDonnell are standing. At least they offer some kind of alternative viewpoint.

I really love the way Abbott is a massive hypocrite as well as an utter airhead. She would make a great Labour leader.

The deadline has been extended to the 9th June - so maybe Labour will get an even wider field of candidates.

I don't know how anyone can take Diane Abbott seriously.

I'm not Labour so can't really express a preference but nice to see a woman in the race.

I've debated the woman, she was talking utter crap about Labour's aid policy. She's just a shameless opportunist, mainly motivated by her own ego.

No no no no no to Diane Abbott. There are things I would like to post here about her but I don't want to be sued.

Let's just say she hasn't always been entirely ethical.

Please not Andy Burnham. He is hopeless - I know plenty who've had lots of dealings with him as health secretary, lets just say he wasn't exactly effective.

But aren't most politicans motivated by their own ego and are unethical ?

I lived in Diane Abbott's constituency for many years. She is far from 'a shameless opportunist'. She is an incredibly efficient, hard working and gutsy MP. She has been in the game for years, om the ground, not poncing about working for a bank or as some Minister's bithc under secretary, or whatever.

Personally, I am leaning towards Balls. He's a rucker, and there is going to be one hell of a ruck at the next election.

I think David Milliband is the one, though.
