Now that Ed Balls has thrown his hat in the ring (see here), I think it is in the national interest for us to do everything we can to ensure that he becomes Labour leader.

I can't wait for Labour to get Balls.... Headlines like 'Balls Up In The Leadership Race' would be just wonderful.

A fine sentiment. Indeed, in an era when newspaper circulation is in vicious decline, Labour should do everything they can to facilitate the work of our ailing media.

Yes, definitely, Balls as Labour leader would be the Tories best hope of staying in power.

Your cynicism is unbecoming.

Ed Balls a fantastic advertisement for the Labour Party. He represents all that is best about it.

Indeed, knowing that he may be elected leader of Labour fills me with a tremendous sense of hope and optimism.

OMG you are kidding me!!!??? You actually want that bonehead as the leader of the labour party? Ok, so long as he's not the leader next time they get in gov I suppose. I think I would dissolve into a sobbing mess if he ever became PM.

Or are you all being sarcastic?

OMG thank God for that!

I never thought I'd ever hear someone saying seriously that they would want Ed Balls to have any important job at all after the cock up he made of the DSCF

jackstarbright · 19/05/2010 19:29

Did anyone hear him on R4 PM this afternoon. I only caught bits - but it didn't sound good!

JeffVadar · 20/05/2010 11:36

I'm not a Labour supporter, but I think Ed Balls would be the best leader.

All the parties are too near the centre at the moment, and Labour needs to move a bit more Leftwards to offer the electorate more of a choice.

The Milliblands won't do that I think.
