Well I thought the lib dems stood for the same as me. But am obviously more left wing than the rest of them.

theyoungvisiter · 11/05/2010 20:49

Have a pork pie Beta.

We're all a Coalition of the UnWilling now, aren't we?

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 20:50

a toast to extended maternity leave

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 20:50

if this is the end of macho two party politics I am full of joy.

we don't know what the deal is yet.

new labour needs a fucking good shake along roy hattersley's lines (god bless him and all who sail in him). this could do it.

i know you LOATHE him with a passion. i know where he went to school pisses you off so much. but when i put him against michael howard/IDS/even tarzan, he seems marginally more human.

this could be a messy and sticky time, that really revitalises our political system. I am very pleased about that.

this could be the best thing that has happened for lefties/progressives in this country for a very long time indeed.

CatIsSleepy · 11/05/2010 20:50

oh god it's really sinking in

we have a tory PM don't we

Beachcomber · 11/05/2010 20:50

Liked the dig the Dark Lord got in about money.

BeenBeta · 11/05/2010 20:51

Let me know if anyone does see a triumphalist Tory thread I can join.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 20:51

Orf for another fag

MrJustAbout · 11/05/2010 20:52

What choice did the lib dems have ... half the labour party wouldn't support the rainbow coalition.

The labour party can't afford another election.

The lib dems can't afford another election.

So why do you want one?

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 20:52

I am still with sophable but it is terrifying to see them in there. Remember Thatch: on her back and then WHAM! A war and a miners strike to bring a landslide...

Heathcliffscathy · 11/05/2010 20:52

fuck off getorf...the libdems have fucking saved you from a fully fledged tory unchained melody. labour had NO fucking legitimacy left, tony saw to it and gordon didn't have the bollocks to do something about it.

Nymphadora · 11/05/2010 20:52

a toast to Tax credits (when they work)

LetThereBeRock · 11/05/2010 20:52

I can't bear to watch Plastic Man go into No 10, and dp and I have two very pro conservative, but otherwise very pleasant, guests staying with us at the moment, and the atmosphere is a little awkward at the moment.

I'm hiding from them and from reality for a while.

InmyheadIminParis · 11/05/2010 20:52

toast to childcare vouchers

BecauseImWorthIt · 11/05/2010 20:52

Obama going to call Cameron this evening apparently. Wish we could hear that call - will he address him as 'lightweight'?!

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/05/2010 20:53

Lol Beenbeta

I am just laughing at hezza on the TV. One of you leftie lot was convinced he was dead the other day. We all had to go on wikipedia and check that he was still alive.

DavidHameron · 11/05/2010 20:53

well not on that last rant

CatIsSleepy · 11/05/2010 20:54

well i can't wait for the fully gory details of the coalition deal
6 posts in cabinet

wonder if the human pustule that is george osborne will be booted out of the Treasury

that would be a teeny consolation

LetThereBeRock · 11/05/2010 20:55

I have to face these people in the morning again, knowing DC is the new Prime Minister. That'll be fun.

Francagoestohollywood · 11/05/2010 20:55
ravenAK · 11/05/2010 20:55

Hmm Sophable, not sure i currently feel very grateful to the Libs.

I expect to, in 6 months time, when they've done their bit to render both themselves & the Tories unelectable for the foreseeable...

InmyheadIminParis · 11/05/2010 20:55

Desperately trying to convince myself that it could be worse. But not much.

Knew from the moment NC went to DC it was a done deal. Talking to Lab was just playing hardball.

Groan. Again.
