I'm sorry but how can anyone vote for someone who only gave up their non dom status during the election campaign? How does someone like that contribute to Britain? He only became a tax payer because of the election. To me, that is a scum person.

And whilst he roundly won his seat, why did he have that gurning hooray behind him during the announcements? That, I have to say, was one of my favourite moments of the election, watching that berk's face. Could you get any more Tory?

OP posts:

"It was Tories who were at the heart of it"
should say ex-Tories rather than Tories

edam · 08/05/2010 10:30

As the OP says, that oaf who stood behind him when the results were announced gave the game away. Stereotypical chinless Tory boy OK yah. V. funny.

A non-dom who only agreed to pay UK taxes in order to win a seat has no right to tell the rest of us how to live.

expatinscotland · 08/05/2010 10:35

'expatinscotland, if you love the Greens, then you owe much to the Goldsmiths.'

Where are you getting fuel for such wild assumptions about me? Hello?!

I said if he's a Green then run as one because you had written he's a Green. When you capitalise it, it implies he's a member of that party, which he is not. He is a Tory.

An ex-Tory is a former Tory who is no longer a member of that party. Duh!

I owe FA to the Goldsmiths.

And again, I couldn't care less about theirs or his money or if it's £50bn or 50p except that Zac was a non dom and ran for public office, to decide how other people should be taxed and what is to be done with the Treasury's money.

And a liar and a cheat and therefore a person who, IMO, has shown he is of such questionable moral fibre I'd prefer he not be in a position to form policy and legislation which effects the entire UK population.

And I've also stated that I feel that way about all MPs. A known liar and cheat is not someone who should be representing a collective.

That's patently obvious from all my posts on this issue.

'As the OP says, that oaf who stood behind him when the results were announced gave the game away. Stereotypical chinless Tory boy OK yah. V. funny. '

Yes, we are known by the company we keep .

crumpette · 08/05/2010 10:37

Zac's mummy did door-to-door electioneering calls every day in the constituency, she lives next door to him. Bit vom-inducing

claig · 08/05/2010 10:40

I agree with much of what you say. There are a lot of liars and cheats in the House.

expatinscotland · 08/05/2010 10:44

I think they should have been tossed out, too.

Or any other sort of John Prescott or whoever.

Want to live your life like that, fine, it's not a crime to be a cheat, but that should preclude a person from having a role in making policy decisions on how the rest of us live.

claig · 08/05/2010 10:52

if we tossed them out, the benches would probably be empty. We'd have to start again and get some real members of the public to represent us. Unfortunately, that day will never come.

taffetacat · 08/05/2010 11:01

turns out the twunt next to him is his local agent Rupert Fuckwit David Newman- article in todays Guardian under heading "Etonians make a Commons comeback"
with tagline "Parliament shoudl represent society...it looks like it's becoming more exclusive"

expatinscotland · 08/05/2010 11:02

I once had a cat called Rupert. He was lovely! Had him for 13 years.

He's dead now.

taffetacat · 08/05/2010 11:05

I dated a Rupert for 5 and a half years. He lives in Australia now. Nearly far enough away.

expatinscotland · 08/05/2010 11:08

Bet my Rupert was far lovelier, taffeta, a massive ginger tom with green eyes and the purr of a lion.

taffetacat · 08/05/2010 11:11

Oooh expat he sounds gorgeous, we have just got a new kitten so am especially cat obsessed at the mo.

My Rupert wasn't so bad, just a bit weak and insipid. Your tom sounds much better.

expatinscotland · 08/05/2010 11:13

We're currently waiting for a male kitten. He's just 4 weeks from weaning and then getting neutered.

He's a grey and white cat, though, with a pattern like a mackerel.

So he's going to be Mac. The mackerel cat!

I hope Pepsi, our 10-year-old (well, she's at least 10, she was dumped on us and the former owners said she was 2 and that was 8 years ago) black and white (I'm American British and we always call black and whites 'tuxedo' cats) female, likes him!

taffetacat · 08/05/2010 11:22

ah Mac sounds great. Good name.

one to make you smile

one to make you vom

expatinscotland · 08/05/2010 11:26

OMG, that is the real Rupert! The body of a domestic cat; the roar of a lion.

Gag to the other one.

merryberry · 08/05/2010 11:48

there was a wonderful moment, yesterday i think, when jeremy paxman opened a zac goldsmith interview with 'well, how much money DID you spend on your campaign then?' and the look on zac's face as he floundered was priceless

taffetacat · 08/05/2010 11:54

merryberry - lol I saw that. I love Paxo. Zac stuttered something about it not being about the money. Yeah right. Tell that to the parties when they have to campaign again this year.

crystal123 · 08/05/2010 11:54

ZAC, Very nice.

crystal123 · 08/05/2010 11:57

Taffeta. Why did you date 'Rupert' for five years? and them wish him in Australia? sounds daft to me.

taffetacat · 08/05/2010 12:03

crystal - as I said he wasn't so bad, I was 17 when we started dating and we only saw each other in the holidays. I am not super keen on staying in touch with previous partners.

merryberry · 08/05/2010 17:18

so if he's so green why didnt he stand for the green party. oh. let me think. because he actually cares more about protecting his vast amounts of cash than the environment. he's two faced shallow twat.
