I think the underclass issues are more likely to be raised though with PR - and if 1% of the votes in parliament come from potty factions, well that's about 29% less than usual isn't it?

Someone told me that in Labour-held constituencies, BNP did better than UKIP; in Conservative-held constituencies, UKIP did better than BNP. Does anyone here know if that's (broadly) true?

And the inference is that BNP drew votes from disaffected former Labour voters, while UKIP drew votes from disaffected Tory voters. Has anyone else heard this (broad) conclusion? Or is it false logic?

I don't know - but local council elections are good news thus far - reports are saying that BNP have been kicked out of Barking council totally - they've already lost 9 seats nationally (of those that have been officialy declared) and thank goodness Bob Bailey wasn't elected
