Hell yes

liamsdaddy · 07/05/2010 11:37

Not quite nothing, they have got 500,000+ votes, just not enough to turn into seats fortunately.

In my area they got more votes then the Beer party I mean are the BNP really more important then Beer?

jeee · 07/05/2010 11:38

Sadly, if PR comes in they will gain seats in the not too distant future.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 11:44

yay

ClaireDeLoon · 07/05/2010 11:46

Big relief!

TheGodmother · 07/05/2010 11:50

Sadly as I understand it more people voted BNP (542,387) than voted for SNP (482,823).

Maybe not relevant but I thought it was a scary fact.

cluelessnchaos · 07/05/2010 11:52

They got booed on every televised platform I saw

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/05/2010 11:53

I loved the booing!

sallyJayGorce · 07/05/2010 11:53

I'm for electoral reform but worried about what could open up for the BNP.

DuelingFanjo · 07/05/2010 11:54

It's awful that they managed to increase the amount of votes though. Awful. Urrgh, there are more stupid people out there than I thought.

SamanthaFox · 07/05/2010 11:55

Well I'm not too worried if there are 5,000 odd people in the country who have shite for brains.
It's not really any surprise.
Thankfully, there are millions more who are fairly sensible and clever...so the thickos will always be in the minority.

Did they already have a seat somewhere - and did they manage to keep it? Or just nothing at all?

mumblechum · 07/05/2010 11:55

Where's DaftPunk when you want to throw rotten tomatoes at her??

SamanthaFox · 07/05/2010 11:56

probably crying in a corner somewhere.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/05/2010 11:56

She'll be sobbing into her pillow...hahahaa

Salbysea · 07/05/2010 11:56

I am not relieved at all! I am thinking about all the seats they'll get if there's electorial reform and we end up with PR

FakePlasticTrees · 07/05/2010 11:56

Yay! There are far less stupid nasty people than we thought !

Sam, I think its five hundred thousand, not five thousand.

SamanthaFox · 07/05/2010 12:01

ok, sorry. 500,000 eejits int he UK...I think we knew that though, really.

Think how many copies the DM sells on a daily basis!

SirBoobAlot · 07/05/2010 12:03

Its distressing (but unfortunately not surprising) how many votes they got, but thank goodness not enough for a seat.

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 07/05/2010 12:04

My aunt voted for them....

The family BBQ next weekend will be interesting to say the least.....

Even if they get to represent themselves a bit, Sal, it doesn't mean they will get to pass anything. They'll still be a tiny minority in parliament. They will be laughed down by nearly everyone else who is represented. I am not too worried.
