I'm glad I think.

Its good that there will have to be cooperation.

Worried what it will be though.

Thank you is it me

I know, it's a bit of a worry, sterling has already dipped.

pocketmonster · 07/05/2010 11:03

Sorry, I meant to say:

Thank you IsItMeOr

Did anybody else like Lord Ashdown saying that David Cameron didn't have a mandate to ram the Tory manifesto down the country's throat?

Thought Nick Clegg came across very well. Don't see him going for any very formal arrangement with the Tories, just not going for one with Labour given how the vote went.

I don't think he's ruling out a Lib-Lab arrangement down the line though. Presumably we could have a Tory minority gov and Lib-Lab alliances to stop them doing anything really awful?

MyCatIsABastard · 07/05/2010 11:15

Well, Nick Clegg seems to have just said that he would consider siding with the Conservatives as they are the party with the greater votes. V interesting.

IsItMeOr · 07/05/2010 11:18

I think all he really said is that he wouldn't stand in their way/block them by teaming formally with Labour right now.

EndangeredSpecies · 07/05/2010 11:24

not sure IsitMe... I found his total lack of reference to Labour quite telling.

IsItMeOr · 07/05/2010 11:28

But given their respective manifestos, there is no real basis for any partnership...

I think Lord Steel just gave the interpretation that they would speak to tories first and if that didn't work out they would talk to Labour. But have unhappy 14mo whinging at same time, so may have misheard!

EndangeredSpecies · 07/05/2010 11:37

I agree with that IIM. Two-party politics is - if not dead and buried - at least in intensive care. They are going to have to start talking to each other and stop behaving like so many different football teams.

IsItMeOr · 07/05/2010 11:45

at football teams.

Just realised that there's a competing hung parliament thread though...

noddyholder · 07/05/2010 11:47

Lib/con?????????????Nightmare conservatives will never entertain PR.

DuelingFanjo · 07/05/2010 11:49

If the Lib Dems join the conservatives then they lose my vote for ever.
