I'm glad I think.

Its good that there will have to be cooperation.

Worried what it will be though.

SecretPollingBooth · 07/05/2010 10:15

BythewayItsStillMe · 07/05/2010 10:17

Do you think she's buy it?
'Sorry the toilets a bit minging/ kitchen floor looks like hansel and gretel's playground, I just could not move from infront of the tv all day!'

Worth a try I guess

Anyone fancy a brew while we wait?

McDreamy · 07/05/2010 10:18

oh yes please Bytheway - can I have a coffee? Biscuit anyone?

BrokenBananaTantrum · 07/05/2010 10:19

coffee 2 sugars thanks for asking

i think she'll buy it

but more importantly do you care if she doesn't?

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 07/05/2010 10:21

I've just read somewhere about Clegg making a statement soon, any idea what time he's expected please ?

Twit · 07/05/2010 10:21

10:30 I think

animula · 07/05/2010 10:22

sophable - agree with you on both posts.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 07/05/2010 10:22

Great thanks. Agree with Sophable totally about Lib Dems number of seats for 23% of the vote. I will be incredibly hacked off if we don't get some kind of reform.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 07/05/2010 10:25

statement from downing street on bbc now

BythewayItsStillMe · 07/05/2010 10:29

She wouldn't dare complain, I'm the mother of her only Grandson and her DS stood up to her finally last time we saw her... she'll behave!
(And I'm making fresh apple pies)

Whats NC's statement going to be about? Do we know?
Is it just an explanation about the hung parliament thing or his plans for who his new best friend will be?

octothechildherder · 07/05/2010 10:29

I would like to see a tory/lib dem coalition with GB standing down as leader of opposition. I voted lib dem butdont want labour in charge again.

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 10:34

I see Nick Clegg's car's progress is being tracked on the BBC.

BrokenBananaTantrum · 07/05/2010 10:38

bbc just said it could be 40 days before everything is sorted

BythewayItsStillMe · 07/05/2010 10:40

I was just staring at the tv thinking 'why...??' as we're being made to watch NC travelling, and the presenters discussing the route he's taking... thrilling...

pocketmonster · 07/05/2010 10:40

But why on earth would you see a Lib/Con coalition? Their policies are poles apart! Additionally people tactically vote Lib Dem to keep the Tories out - so how would they feel about a Lib/Con coalition?

The best result (IMO) would be minority Tory government - with Lib/Lab forming a co operative opposition which would stop the majority of the Tory policies from getting through. Then a fairly quick election.

IsItMeOr · 07/05/2010 10:41

octothechildherder - but I can't see any common ground on the economy that would support a tory/lib dem coalition or partnership of any kind. Given that's the current crisis issue, surely that's not going to work?

pocketmonster · 07/05/2010 10:42

Oh yes and that could also ensure that electoral reform was pushed through prior to a new election. Surely this proves we need it!

IsItMeOr · 07/05/2010 10:43

x-post with pocketmonster (great name btw!).

I think your option is looking reasonably likely on the numbers. Not great for the country to have that kind of uncertainty in the middle of global economic crisis though...

EndangeredSpecies · 07/05/2010 10:48

Clegg's just said he's going to talk to the Conservatives first. He just doesn't like GB.

BythewayItsStillMe · 07/05/2010 10:49

Sounds like its going to be Lib-Con doesn't it?

octothechildherder · 07/05/2010 10:51

Two or more parties have to work together to make it work - there will have to be some give if they form a coalition - Clegg just said he would be interested in talking to Cameron - as I would have expected. No-one wants to back the losers.

EndangeredSpecies · 07/05/2010 10:51

Stay tuned to the TV for scenes of GB begging on his knees outside Lib Dem HQ.

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 10:52

Whatever happens there needs to be a lot of discussion.

octothechildherder · 07/05/2010 10:55

lol endangeredspecies

McDreamy · 07/05/2010 10:56

I think it will be a Lib/Con. He has kept his word.
