I would like to see a tory/lib dem coalition with GB standing down as leader of opposition. I voted lib dem butdont want labour in charge again.

I was just staring at the tv thinking 'why...??' as we're being made to watch NC travelling, and the presenters discussing the route he's taking... thrilling...

But why on earth would you see a Lib/Con coalition? Their policies are poles apart! Additionally people tactically vote Lib Dem to keep the Tories out - so how would they feel about a Lib/Con coalition?

The best result (IMO) would be minority Tory government - with Lib/Lab forming a co operative opposition which would stop the majority of the Tory policies from getting through. Then a fairly quick election.

octothechildherder - but I can't see any common ground on the economy that would support a tory/lib dem coalition or partnership of any kind. Given that's the current crisis issue, surely that's not going to work?

Oh yes and that could also ensure that electoral reform was pushed through prior to a new election. Surely this proves we need it!

I think your option is looking reasonably likely on the numbers. Not great for the country to have that kind of uncertainty in the middle of global economic crisis though...

Clegg's just said he's going to talk to the Conservatives first. He just doesn't like GB.

Two or more parties have to work together to make it work - there will have to be some give if they form a coalition - Clegg just said he would be interested in talking to Cameron - as I would have expected. No-one wants to back the losers.

Stay tuned to the TV for scenes of GB begging on his knees outside Lib Dem HQ.

Whatever happens there needs to be a lot of discussion.
