maybe Secret...

FrakkinTheReturningOfficer · 07/05/2010 07:21

Depends which areas they were. If they were really significant we could see a re-election...

The parties would be well advised to watch how they comport themselves until it's decided.

ASecretLemonadeDrinkerDAVE · 07/05/2010 07:22

My DH is joining the RAF, still believe in their cause, not the means obviously. Cannot believe it's down to 2/8 votes!

FrakkinTheReturningOfficer · 07/05/2010 07:22

I really have to go now.....I have 8 minutes and this class are usually early. Should have left 7 mins ago!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 07:24

see you later

BeenBeta · 07/05/2010 07:25

SomeGuy - I agree with your numbers. It all hangs on which way the minority parties jump. With 323 the Tory/DUP parties could form a goverment.

If Cameron gets in then he could quickly reform the constitution so only English MPs vote on English issues and the Scottish, Welsh and NI parliaments would get more powers to vote on thir own isuses. he has said he wants to do that. It would gain Cameron the support of the minority parties and give him a natural majority on English voting issues at Westminster. He may have to do a sort of coalition for any votes on Britsh issues such as the future of the nuclear deterant but taxation an spending would be the key issues and the minority parties will flex their muscles there.

Personally, I would like to see Nick Clegg and perhaps a few other Lib Dem MPs get seats in the wider cabinet too.

SomeGuy · 07/05/2010 07:31

Sinn Fein cannot be in government because they won't sit because they refuse to swear the oath of allegiance.

iamfabregasted · 07/05/2010 07:54

The official term is abstentionists (I learnt that yesterday)

The seat in Fermanagh South Tyrone is very close, two votes in it.

TheFowlAndTheBallotBox · 07/05/2010 07:58

Morning guys, sorry I crashed out about 3am. Well, this wasn't supposed to happen! A hung parliament with no clear lib/lab coalition! We will be doing it all again in a couple of months, particularly with voting irregularities. Why do people lie in polls? I just don't get it.

ASecretLemonadeDrinkerDAVE · 07/05/2010 07:59

DUP have 168,000 to Sinn Feins 150,000 votes, but 8 seats over just 4 (so far). I can see an arguement for this proportional stuff

mspotatochip · 07/05/2010 08:07

have lost track due to two poorly kiddies Its going to be a long long day..........How do i persuade dd that News is better than beeebies!?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 08:08

mspotato
can you watch it on your computer?

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 08:13

Morning. Went to bed about 3:45 and probablya good idea.

Toccata it was me who posted on your wall with the initials KT by the way .

SIL's Watford seat still to declare.

mspotatochip · 07/05/2010 08:16

We have 2 x tv, computer and netbook will come to some arrangement Baba is asleep after vomiting most of night, dd playing in her room in v good form considering the erm output.

So what outcome do we all want? A tory DUP coalition would be my personal ultimate nightmare a labour lib dem coalition quite appeals. Could cope with cons if osbourne not chancellor his inexperience is truly terrifying

iamfabregasted · 07/05/2010 08:16

lem - but sinn fein wouldn't take their seats, so what would be the point?

Does that mean, does anyone know, that they can't go into a coalition with anyone coz they don't vote in the uk parliament? They wouldn't be voting on any issues iyswim??

paddingtonbear1 · 07/05/2010 08:19

Just got up, downstairs tv showing mickey mouse until dd has gone to school!
Really disappointed LibDem haven't done better.

Brollyflower · 07/05/2010 08:21

Of course the reality is I can't see a con-lib pact somehow. Mandleson's on radio 4 making very positive noises about electoral reform. I betcha the shadowy men are all on the phone to each other already and have been for hours.

gaelicsheep · 07/05/2010 08:23

Respect to you ladies who stayed the course to a second thread. I'm crossing fingers for a Tory/Lib Dem coalition - not sure how likely that is though.

gaelicsheep · 07/05/2010 08:24

I really really hope that the Lib Dems would not support a party that has lost so spectacularly. They must keep their integrity despite the disappointing result.

duchesse · 07/05/2010 08:24

So half a million fuckers people voted for the BNP- more than for the SNP.

iamfabregasted · 07/05/2010 08:25

Jeremy Vine is losing his voice

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 08:29

That is sooooo CRAP duchesse - why in earth vote for BNP over SNP; are people crazy?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 08:31

wouldnt want it, but a lib/lab pact with a guarantee of electoral reform as a first priority would, for me be the best of a bad bunch.

duchesse · 07/05/2010 08:32

I guess the SNP vote is more geographical though, whereas the BNP voters will be spread across the whole union.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 07/05/2010 08:36

going for a wash - back in a bit.....
