Gordon Brown remains as Prime Minister. I think.

Gordon Brown gets first go but will have lost all moral authority.

IMoveTheStars · 06/05/2010 23:41

watching, as DP doesn't believe me that GB could potentially stay.

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 06/05/2010 23:42

Thanks- that what I thought. Dh wandered if it would become a political 'base' rather than also a residence.

expatinscotland · 07/05/2010 00:37

argh.... how annoying.

dinosaurinmybelly · 07/05/2010 03:52

I think that under current electoral guidelines, the current prime minister is given time to reach out to other parties in order to form a majority government, however Clegg has said that if labour were defeated definitively (which it looks like they have been), he would not consider it ethically correct to form a coalition with labour and would instead look to the Conservatives...

I thought DC's speech at Whitby was spot on...don't think we'll see him squirming whatever happens now.

Chil1234 · 07/05/2010 05:34

Those are the rules... sitting PM has first shot at forming a government. If they can't then the party with the most seats can either form a minority government or go for a coalition.

BTW..If GB agrees to PR to get the LD on board and if they form a permanent alliance we'll never get rid of Labour ever again.... Where's my passport?
