Hmm, swing to Tory party worrying in Sunderland and whats with the drop in the LD vote?

LenniralElection · 06/05/2010 22:55

Need new thread

Not good news about swing being bigger than exit poll predictions

Coolfonz · 06/05/2010 22:55

ps: sadly im well a minger

EweStupidToryVoters · 06/05/2010 22:55

Oh dear, swing not good.

duckyfuzz · 06/05/2010 22:56

she is new, previous mp has retired, that wil cut her majority

ahundredtimes · 06/05/2010 22:56

ah higher swing where Labour have new candidate.

Are you all writing this now too? We all hear the same thing then we write it down. I like it

IagreewithNick · 06/05/2010 22:56

No the swing is worrying but it is a new candidate so she may not carry loyalty votes.

A very low turnout.

onebatonevote · 06/05/2010 22:56

shit no.

MmeLindtChocBrownies · 06/05/2010 22:56

Low turnout. And pretty large BNP vote.

IagreewithNick · 06/05/2010 22:56

Yes as I typed my view the man on the BBc said the same.

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 22:56

They said swing indicative of new candidate though

InmyheadIminParliament · 06/05/2010 22:56

Yay Bridget!

And yay to me - first election night bingo crossed off 'boundary changes'

LenniralElection · 06/05/2010 22:57

Turnout up 2% in this seat - should be good news across country.

I'm wondering if many giving LD on polls have defected to bigger parties in fear of hung parliament

MarionCole · 06/05/2010 22:57

I think the swing is slightly misleading though because a large proportion has been taken by the independent - who knows what his platform has been. It hasn't all gone to the tories.

OP posts:
Jaquelinehyde · 06/05/2010 22:57

Yeah the swing is a little sobering when you consider the really close marginals.

Aranea · 06/05/2010 22:57

I think you may be right, Lenniral

policywonk · 06/05/2010 22:57

coolfonz not much happening yet. Haven't heard anything about Bethnal and Bow.

Don't think much will happen now for a while - seem to be delayed by hour/hour and a half.

ImSoNotTelling · 06/05/2010 22:59

I think that a lot of people will have thrown a wobbler when confronted with the actual papers and gone back to the big 2.

LadyBlaBlah · 06/05/2010 22:59

Thats not the Sian Lloyd. We have an imposter

jenny60 · 06/05/2010 23:00

8% really isn't that bad in the circumstances and I reckon a lot of pro-pr Labour people voted LD cos they knew they could.

MarionCole · 06/05/2010 23:00

My first thought was "blimey, she's had a bit of work done".

Then I realised.

Oh I really can't stay up all night but I know I probably will.

Reckon Tech is around to make our thread unlimited posts or are we moving?

PfftThePinkoLeftyDragon · 06/05/2010 23:01

I think the Lib Dems will lose out to tactical voting, they did with me.
