Just starting this so that we can all post our thoughts throughout the day.

My wish for today is that as many people as possible GO OUT AND VOTE.

I cannot vote as I have been living abroad for over 15 years so if anyone wants to vote for me, I would like to vote for Gordon Brown. Voting by MN proxy

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 03:09

Where did Labour just get those few seats from?

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 03:10

Bitey fist haha Love it!

MrJustAbout · 07/05/2010 03:10

I found it hilarious that the little Englander UKIP candidate in David Cameron's constituency was called Nikolai Tolstoy.

Jux · 07/05/2010 03:10

My brother's constituency has a candidate "Monkey the Drummer"

KillerCleavage · 07/05/2010 03:10

Think I'm going to have to disappear. My bloody dongle thingy has picked the worst ever time to play up and I'm having to reconnect every 2 minutes.

Night night ladies, I'll be following via BBC.

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 03:11

I'm still waiting for mine to come through.............

Lib dems not managing to get as many seats as they hoped.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 03:12

Lib Dems did'nt translate good PR into votes at the booths as much as everyone expected

veselaliberalka · 07/05/2010 03:12

argh. result from seat I've been canvassing in not expected until 4am... that's 5am over here. Don't know if I can hold out...

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 03:35

Lib Dem Target Seats (still quite a few to be declared yet)

their key defence seats again still quite a few to be declared

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 03:36

Hooray - mumsnet back again

My seat stayed conservative. Not exactly surprising.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 03:38

Ooooo We're back!

makemeacupoftea · 07/05/2010 03:38

The systems appears to have been thrown into turmoil by people voting.

Kaloki · 07/05/2010 03:38

Annoying timing there! lol

Jux · 07/05/2010 03:39

My result's not due in until 5.30, but I think it's probably a foregone conclusion. It's been Tory for years.

Off to bed I think

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 03:41

(sorry didn't mean to post twice)

welll

My vote certainly counted. There were 600 votes between Con/Lab last time round....

This time my MP ( that I voted for) had a majority of 11,787 - a swing of 10.8% from Lab to Con.

Interestingly the Lib Dems have picked up quite well round here (they had about 11% of the vote last time round with 40/40(ish) for the other 2)

This time Lib Dem got 17% of the vote, Lab 25% and Con 48%

rather worringly BNP, UKIP and English democrats between them racked up 5% of the vote and BNP's figures are up 3% from last time round

makemeacupoftea · 07/05/2010 03:43

Carlise, up now, oh my god the BNP vote, I use to live there for years, jesuse, con gain

minimamoth · 07/05/2010 03:44

What would your dream team be. Pm, chancellor etc

veselaliberalka · 07/05/2010 03:44

I think the polls were underestimating shy Labour voters.

Kaloki · 07/05/2010 03:44

Shit isn't it Toccata? At least they have no seats!
