Just starting this so that we can all post our thoughts throughout the day.

My wish for today is that as many people as possible GO OUT AND VOTE.

I cannot vote as I have been living abroad for over 15 years so if anyone wants to vote for me, I would like to vote for Gordon Brown. Voting by MN proxy

makemeacupoftea - that is a cracking quote

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 02:41

yes that's how I feel too.

I just had to look at local issues and see who was going to do what for local people.......and the then standing MP has had a good track record for helping his constiuents when they approach him with problems.......and he's a "local"....the only other "locals" up for election were racists........

makemeacupoftea · 07/05/2010 02:41

Ta Camrael.

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 02:42

Lib Dem GAIN from Con in Easbourne

KillerCleavage · 07/05/2010 02:43

Don't know about a hell hole. I know Leicester has a large Asian population but that's it.

I was either voting labour or lib dem. I work in the public sector so there is no way I'd vote tory. I remember what they did to public services last time. I voted labour because a vote for the lib dem in this constituency would be a wasted vote and I dislike labour less than the tories.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 02:43

I was undecided until I had the pencil in my hand, however it did help the candidates if they actually lived locally as far as I was concerned a

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 02:46

but they've lost Harrogate and Knaresborough (sp)

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 02:46

My seat is always going to be conservative.

InmyheadIminParliament · 07/05/2010 02:47

Mine too, Noah

FiveOrangePips · 07/05/2010 02:47

I considered voting Lib Dem until I discovered the candidate lives elsewhere, he showed no interest in talking about the local area when he was doing his blurb in the paper.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 02:48

Conservatives are gaining quickly

flowerybeanbag · 07/05/2010 02:48

I'm off to bed, will put the telly on but leaving the laptop downstairs.

night all

Stretch · 07/05/2010 02:48

Lots of (barely) concealed racists here.

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 02:49

But not my vote (makes that clear)

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 02:49

mine has been Tor for one term, was Labour for 2 before that, Tory before that.....

I remember being gutted when the Tory one got in last time round....but I've voted for him this time....

makemeacupoftea · 07/05/2010 02:49

I would have to say that if there voting BNP it?s likely to be a hell hole. Poverty breeds extremism. Someone to blame etc.

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 02:50

Recount in Birmingham

InmyheadIminParliament · 07/05/2010 02:51

Think I've got to call it a night. Can't stand going to bed not knowing

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 02:51

Goodnight flowery

toccatanfudge · 07/05/2010 02:52

FOP ditto - I was going to vote Lib Dem despite it being a real Con/LAb marginal with Lib Dem not getting a look in.,

And then I discovered he didn't live local and his blurb didn't really show any knowledge of issues that affect local people.

Labour have shipped someone in from Enfield North (or South?) and all her blurb did was to bitch about the Tory plans for the NHS

(bit of an odd one that in some respects as the Tory bloke has been campaigning for a hospital to be built in the town as we don't have one.......)

makemeacupoftea · 07/05/2010 02:52

Sorry stretch, to call lester a hell hole

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 02:52

RECOUNT Birmingham

NoahAndTheWhale · 07/05/2010 02:53

Con and Lab both had 30.7% of vote for a second there. Now more for Con

Kaloki · 07/05/2010 02:54

Didn't realise that toccata, we're keeping an eye on Enfield North, DP's family are there.

Also watching Slough (my family) and Brighton Pav (wher we lived last year)

Slough is most likely Labour.
Brighton Pav I would love to see get Green. Keeping my fingers crossed for them.

caramelwaffle · 07/05/2010 02:54

RECOUNT Ashfield
