EU Plans to Outlaw Slapping

I was wondering what exactly you all think about their proposed blanket ban on smacking or whatever you want to call it.

Children's right are highly important, in my opinion, but is there any alternative when it comes to putting kids in their place?

Before I became a mother I always thought I'd use smacking on rare, necessary occasions. Now I can see absolutely no reason to smack at all as it's simply not a constructive way to correct a child.

There are loads of alternatives. Too many to list at 23.50 on a Thursday!
