Ha ha ha.

I think I spend too much time excitedly talking politics with one of the local candidates who has been an enthuastic doorknocker of late.

DP now asking if I've got a crush...

Or perhaps I don't spend enough time excitedly talking politics with DP...

oh yes I know this isn't really "about" politics. I just thought it would be a nice change from the threads started by activitists-pretending-to-be-MNers.

My DH was also shocked to find out I know one of the candidates.
He was teling me how the x party candidate in so and so constituency is now favoured by the bookies, when I said 'Oh, I know. I know that person. She is really amazing! I would vote for her if I lived in that area.' I think DH made a mental note never to move into that area, or I will betray his favourite party.
So it is not quite a crush, but I can sympathise with you plimsolls.

Last area we lived in,our local MP popped round my house unexpectedly one tea time to drop off some leaflets for me to deliver, and ask if i was interested in standing for the council (in an unwinnable ward i presume ).

I was a little bit over-excited and flappy, it's true...
but I was telling my mum on the phone later, and she said, 'You let your local MP into the house?! When DH wasn't there?! What did DH say about that?'

Methinks she has read one sex scandal too many...
