How do you explain 190 children in your Tory borough of Hammersmith and Fulham being WITHOUT a school place for the forthcoming school year - no, not in a school of their 2nd choice but utterly without a school to go to. Explain that oh Power to the People man..............

Oh can I have a go at this one please?

Our LA are having to open up schools that had been previously closed down due to excess spaces (under government orders), then we had a large influx of immigrants into our area and now find ourselves unable to cope with the levels of children needing places (I should think london is far worse), it isn't the boroughs fault if the places are not there for the children it is central governments lack of funding for infrastructure in areas of high propulation mainly due to immigration.

This isn't just a schools issue though this stretches across the board for infrastructure, housing, G.P's, hospitals, health care, you name it it's been underfunded by central government, so instead of pointing a finger at the LA's who can't stretch their (cut) budgets anymore than they are, you should be pointing at the government.

So then would a Tory government address these issues and make a difference or would we just get ever dimishing services which are unable to cope with the ever growing demands of current population growth?

I see from the manifesto that they will allow the LA's and people of the area to decide how and where the money they are given from central government is spent, so instead of ring fencing a budget and not allowing flexibility ie; school provision if the area needs more financing they can then provide it.
